Re: Players Who Outperform Their Ratings

Anyways. I will +1 to the dude who said Jaylen Brown. Very sold on D. Hes long, pretty fast. I like his jumper and his 3 id under 80 i think but he seems to nail more than he should. And of course he can dunk.

Also Horford lol. His post fade seems to never miss dudes like dirk out here. He obviously makes all the open ones.(i can never shoot 3 with him tho) and he rebounds WAY better than im real life. Trust me haha.

Jayson Tatum is an absolute monster on offense, especially if you play him at PF. Most PF can't keep up with him and if you do play him at SF, he's bigger then a lot of them. He's not a prolific 3PT shooter but he's good for three or four a game. Just an all around good player on offense.

Usually you look at OVR ratings, but then talk about how players perform well in certain attributes in which they rate high in.

"JR Smith doesn't miss." (Well look at his shot ratings).

"Zach Lavine dunks everything" (Well he has a high dunk rating).
Also some of these guys have animation packages that make them incredibly easy to use in comparison to guys with similar ratings.

Has anyone had the chance to use mike Scott In 18 yet? In the past he was great as a stretch 4

Fantastic, I somehow traded Siakam for him and he is filling in nicely since Derozan went down with an ankle injury on the first game of the season (after scoring 40 pts). He can play PF or SF so he fits into the rotation nicely

That’s great to hear he was a life saver for me Hawks in recent years and haven’t used him this time Around as he is on a new Team. Like you said he can play the 3 or 4, makes the minimum and has a simple release

I liked Tatum a lot in the one game I played as Boston. He just felt really smooth, and he had a nice post fade. Not sure if it would be as effective or useful with him at the 4, but I like the idea of putting him there and running small ball.

Agreed. He's super fun to run at PF and he's almost unstoppable in transition. Definitely on my short list of guys who play above their ratings.

Clearly I was using Jr. as an example, since it has been used since 2K8

Stop taking it personally. I am simply saying, the people usually listed in these threads have high attributes in the skills that users praise. Instead of looking at the OVR and saying a player is "outperforming" look at the specific attribute and you wouldn't consider them "outperforming."
                      Concrete evidence/videos please

So what you're saying is that most users only use the skills said player is good at in the right situation, since the user pretty much takes over for that player's offensive awareness (which impacts Overall)?

You certainly somt see the cpu averaging 20 ppg with Ben McLemore, so I can agree with that.

Shabazz Muhammad is a beast this year... He can do damage against an undersized 3 or a slow 4. Seems to shoot above his ratings as well.

Steph Curry - He's a 94 but plays like a 100 demi god immortal. Not like he should have been a 100 overall anyway as he is better statistically than prime jordan.

Brook Lopez (84) This man is a straight problem. He's a threat anywhere on the court. Plays well over 90.

Shammy Wells - Not sure if anyone has noticed yet how much of a demi god immortal Shammy a.k.a Sham Wow a.k.a Sham Sizzle a.k.a Lil Sham the Splash god a.k.a Shammy had a little splash. but in all sersiousness Shammy literally broke the single game record for 3s made with me in game and I ended up with about 29 assists passing to him. He's literally all hall of fame badges when you pass to him. It was getting borderline unrealistic. He was shooting from half court over contested and everything. He's also a "veteran" that's 23 that never finished his rookie year but somehow is 5 years pro. Illuminati?
