They are just putting it back to how it was (greens). They stealth nerfed most of the jumpers to cut the green window in half.

I'm prepared to call 2K straight up liars. I feel that is fair due to the proof and facts of 2K saying they didn't mess with shooting, then they post they are going to put it back how it was. If they didn't change it what are they going "back" to?

All they have to do is list whats in the updates. But they don't. My theory is they want to see if what they "fixed" is actually fixed before they say it is. They want to nerf stuff without their "Community Manager" talking to the community. They don't want to publicize how broken it is/was, what glitches, etc were/are in game.

This might be placebo, since I played only "three" game after the update. I was playing against '11 Chicago Bulls user in PNO last night. I played two other games before, but my opponents quit when I jumped on them for a double digit lead in the 1st quarter. However, across all 3 games, I noticed that was shooting better on open shots than I was for the past week. Watson, Hill, and PG24 were back to being viable options on the kickouts and coming off screens.

In the same game, my opponent kept attacking the paint with Derrick Rose, and would change his shot EVERY time in mid-air. He ended up shooting like 80% on these stupid shots, and I couldn't block the shots to save my life due to mid-air changeup animations. This could be an absolute outliner, because Rose does have the HOF Acrobat, Gold Relentless Finisher, and the badge where he can hit difficult shots. Plus, he has a 95 Layup Rating...however, it was soooo suspect.

The 2klab tested out the best jumpshot , i think, it was 72 % before the patch 4, then with patch went down to 47%.
After this patch thwt they said was fixed, they've tested again and is 49% lol. They're liars

Yep. The last public 2K figure I had some respect for was @Beluba but seems like he just says the uh... "misleading" 2K party line. But I got another update this morning so maybe its "fixed".

I was playing a Pro-Am game and a pure sharp kept getting mad he couldn't hit fadeaway 3s from 30+. Funny part was, no one was talking and one by one, we all turned our mic's on and chewed him out. Took a while, and he obliged to spot shooting and letting me run point.

Just kidding. Is the d'angelo russel i guess, i dont care so much because im a bigman , but i think it's a mix of russel with harden and base 49.

The point is: there are jumpshoots that are better than others.
Sadly, because all of them should be same, should be the timing release of each jumpshot. But you can get more green release with specifics jumpshoots..

All of this could've been nonexistent if they would've gave you the option to TURN ON the meter for layups/floaters/runners...

It's already in the game. Just make it visible for the people who want to see what's going on.

Right? The layup idea is a flop. They had a layup meter to time layups last year. 1 group of people didn't want to have to time layups and the other group of people liked it.

So what do you do? You take OFF the meter but still require timing. So now this upsets BOTH groups of people. Smart 2k.

I don't get how they can do this so early after explicitly saying that they wouldn't do it like they did last year.

People were missing layups because:

1. The layup timing changed and most people wouldn't know that unless they seek out the information or play enough to figure it out. Once they do and practice it, the layup %s will go up.

2. People are starting the game with players that have low ratings, as those ratings get higher over time and those players get more badges the percentages will naturally go up. Same thing with MyTeam, the average player right now is much lower rated than it will be in a month when better cards come out, which means we will have buffed layup success AND much better players throwing the balance off again.

3. Using the right stick is a HUGE difference from using just the button, which most causal players complaining about this are probably using. Using the right stick gives you animations that you don't get with the button that often avoid contests completely, making it so you don't have to adjust release timing caused by a contest, and also avoids the lower % caused by the contest altogether thus increasing the success %.

4. There is also no layup meter, only a vibration, which many people may not know exists if they play with vibration off, like I did. They may not know what the vibration means since vibrations were previously used for player contact and bumps that happen in the same context that the new vibrations happen in. They may also not know if the vibration means they are supposed to release the shot AT the vibration or AFTER the vibration, with no shot feedback to calibrate to.

5. The game JUST came out. the percentages should be as low as they will be right now and naturally go up as people get better, buffing them now means that peoples players, cards, and skills will get better over time, throwing it out of balance the other way in the long run.
