Now that the patch is out for the PC I can finally dive in. Defensively they feel more grounded and less slippery. I also noticed that walk up animations no longer have the player switch ball hand automatically. Thanks Mike!

I see a lot of things cleaned up... animation wise. Mostly the dribbling. Can't speak about the neighborhood if it freezes on the PC since I didn't get a chance to check.

I need to compare the gameplay to the ps4. I don't remember the defense feeling so grounded. Then again I really didn't dive into it much because of COD. Once I switch disk I'm lazy to switch back lol

Does anyone have the game on the Xbox One X with the new patch? If so are you seeing a difference from the pro version.?

Ever since downloading Patch 5, the game keeps freezing. I haven’t been able to play a full game yet. Plus the commentary keeps dropping in and out during a game. But at least that only happens till the game freezes and then I don’t have to worry about the audio any more.

but seriously, did patch solve anything important beside custom shoes ?

- Zig Zag not altered in any way. Not even promised stamina drop on left stick "wiggle" implemented. Sudden direction change with left stick is most effective and easiest dribble move, there is no reason to use any of some more advanced dribble moves at all.
-Still hitting back board on open layups .
-Phantom foul calls on dunks or shooting fouls on obvious clear blocks.
-Pro Am still completely broken on pc, games just insta crashes for everyone and it ends up 0-0 with random winner.

I cant say Im enjoying the game as much since this last patch. Before this latest patch, the gameplay was better than its ever been, now not so much. I dont know what they did, but whatever they did, hurt gameplay. Im seeing alot less fouls, and thats not a good thing either. Im also seeing some funky weird things where I almost feel like I dont have total control, at times it feels laggy on moves and at other times, I feel Im in warp speed. I only play offline, so its not a online thing, I strickly play offline against the CPU.

Whatever it is, I do hope they fix it and the gameplay gets back to what it was on day1.

Game definitely seems different after patch. I gotta say, I was enjoying this years title on release and was happy with gameplay. But, like every other year, 2K does more damage with patches than anything. For me, last year, became unplayable after a few patches. I did not enjoy the game at all and ended up trading it in. This year, I am hoping it doesn't go that way. I feel that I don't have complete control over my player when dribbling anymore, it seems lag/delay on the sticks. I'm also noticing that my defensive settings are not sticking. I kept changing things up during my last game to adjust and nothing was sticking. Frustrating to play on ball/off ball defense because the AI defender does not stay tight to a shooter no matter what I do to adjust it. Layups are brutal once again, it is the hardest shot to make in this game. I played Cavs vs Lakers and missed a few layups with rose, d-wade etc, on the flip side, Lopez is out here euro stepping for and 1.....It seems this is the same thing over and over in recent years with 2K, good gameplay to start and slowly damaging it with patches. I am more of an offline player than anything, so I understand that in my park, neighborhood etc is where the money's at for them with VC, so they'll tune that more. I can't say anything from that side as I don't play that mode. All in all, it just doesn't feel as smooth of a game as it was around launch.

I don't see what others are seeing, I must be playing a different game or something but gameplay has been great for me since day 1, the patches have not altered gameplay in a major way at all on my end, only things I've noticed change are the things in the patch notes.

SIDE NOTE: Is it mycareer/online that is changing so much every patch???? If it is then I AM SAFE because I can't stomach playing mycareer or against 7 year olds online.

Anyway...2K18 still the best gameplay I can ever remember on 2K and patches have not ruined the experience for me at all, feels like Im playing the same exact game I purchased on release day with a few bugs fixed and a few more bugs to be fixed in the future. Gameplay wise...patch 1-5...still great! Offline HOF Default!!!

So patch #5 has ruined MC. I cannot enter MyCareer anymore. It goes to 2KTV, shaq and guys and I press start game it crashes the whole game. ****.

Hello. I've been playing 2k since dreamcast. I've played across mostly all consoles over the years. I currently am renting 2k for X1. Wasn't certain if I wanted to buy the game because they're always gamebreaking legacy issues in the games, which is what brings me to this forum today. Will the Icon button issue ever be fixed? I just played an online game and I couldn't use icons for half the game.  I know this is a legacy issue because the same thing happened with last years game, on my PS4's version. Will this be fixed?

Icon button issue??? Never heard of this issue. I play offline vs. cpu and when I go into the bugs and glitches thread it blows my mind because I NEVER see 95% of the stuff thats posted on there.
