Well, I think it's time we have a conversation about Joel Embiid after last night lol

Only play in NBA history with a stat line of:

46+ points 15+ rebounds 7+ assists 7+ blocks in a single game

Unsure if this ever happened before the "recorded" stats era, looking at your Russell/Walt, but still, my god.

He's now averaging:

23 ppg 11.2 rpg 3.5 apg 1 spg 1.9 bpg in 29 mpg shooting 51.6%

You know what's funny?

Ben Simmons night last night has gotten entirely overlooked due to Embiid's pure dominance.

Simmons had 18 points 9 rebounds 10 assists 5 steals 1 block (only 1 TO) on 61.5% shooting - arguably the best game of his career.

This kinda bothers me more than it should. Those Nets teams were known to run as often as possible off misses and their defense. The only weak point defensively was KVH.

Advanced stats wise the Nets were number 1 in defensive rating that year. I agree they should get some love defensively in game.

Exactly, the fact that the 2002 are rated so lowly. They are basically even worst because they don't have much of a bench players. I'm going to get into stats eventually. And even if someone says it doesn't matter. Yes it does! lol. Even the commentary mention Kerry speed in the court. But no defensive badges.... Come on smh

I'm trying to remain unbiased here (kinda) but I mean, Embiid being only an 86 overall in comparison to other player's ratings seems wrong IMO.

Embiid is an 86.

Horford is an 86: IMO Embiid is a much better all around player than Horford
Drummond is an 88: Embiid cooked Drummond in their matchup
Blake is an 87: Again, Embiid is better than Blake IMO

I could go on, but I don't want to get too repetetive, just using a few big man examples that went up/down during the most recent roster update yesterday.

I think Embiid deserves a boost, not only for his record setting performance last night, but his consistent dominance throughout the start of the season.

I just saw your post. I do think he deserved a boost for his mid range, but no, not to 75, that's excessive IMO. While he has been hitting mid range shots much better than I had initially anticipated him to, I'm unsure if his play so far this year warrants a 75 because a 75 in 2k will hit a high percentage of open/lightly contested shots.

On the year, Simmons is shooting:

69.6% at the rim
55/79

42.3% from 3 - 10 feet
22/52

28.9% from 10 - 16 feet
13/45
(This is why I don't think he deserves a 75 honestly)

57.1% from 16 feet - 3PT line

(Surprising %, small sample size though)

Horford is an 86: IMO Embiid is a much better all around player than Horford

You see I knew you would be, as bias as possible on this haha jk. I totally agree with both your examples above! I saw the same stats the other day. I kind of think his rating should be in the mid 60's. To me he hasn't proved enough yet. When I first the overall rating boost. I thought they would of upgraded his inside shots. But improving a player who hasn't been taking jumpers like that. Makes no sense in my opinion. Shot chart below......

If he can keep up the 20-10 averages after all the press this past game got him no doubt he will go up in 2 weeks.

Do gameplay changes come with these roster updates? I swear everyone i play online today with GSW cant be stopped . Pulling up over and over contested 3 with curry and durant . I cant cut them off also so they can just ISO and run past me with the animation

If he can keep up the 20-10 averages after all the press this past game got him no doubt he will up in 2 weeks.

You know, it's the one rating I have no clue how anyone could rate a player lol. When do we give him a boost? After his 30th game?

Considering no more games than he has played in since he was drafted, really doesnt warrant a increased durability, or not yet anyway.
Lets see if he can stay healthy for even half a season 1st, before its raised.

Also arent you concerned you may jinks him, by asking for 2k to toughen up Embiids durability Just kidding, but if I had a talented player on my favorite team, that couldnt seem to stay healthy, I would be keeping my fingers crossed, and not saying a word about it, for fear of jinxing the kid,lol.

Raising Embiid's durability this early is a joke. He's my favorite big in the league (surprise sirprise) but he hasn't proven he can stay healthy yet.

All in all a good Roster Update, but

why is Willy Hernangomez still 77 !!!

Alternately they could just buff Kyle O'Quinn (who has been significantly underrated since getting drafted 6 years ago).

O'Quinn's PER is 19.4 since joining the Knicks THREE YEARS AGO
