the game is broken. thats a fact. some things look great but in reality. it is broken.

No professional basketball player should blow layups when these 2k players blow layups that are rated 80+. they blow layups like a 5th grader. its ridiculous. someone will bring up the overall fg%'s of the games. thats due to a lack of defense and a lack of defensive tools to play better defense if you knew how to.

for the most part. real life people do not just randomly drop passes they have already caught just so the play wont work. thats 2k for you.

traffic or no traffic. traffic should bother the pass by actually allowing a bad pass to hit the defender on the body if he's in that lane. But just constantly dropping passes after you've already caught the pass like you have grease on your hands is cartoonish.


now if 2k wants to make a game where you have to some what turn to catch the pass or press a button to put your hands out and tap it again to secure the pass. fine by me. but just dropping passes after you caught them is ridiculous.

Its not that the game is bad, because it isnt.... Its just that so many people arent going to be playing 2K or watching 2K streams... cuz Fortnite.

This game started dying well before Fortnite took off lol. I'm a fan of Fortnite. I've put in some hours playing it lol. It's a great game!

I agree with this thread. I played all previous 2k games up unti the next years. Today is March 15th and I havent played 2k for like 3 weeks. My main problems are:

1. elementary outlet passes that fly off way past the target. This is nba players not 4th graders

2. same old cheesy offenses.

3. shot timing is way more important than how open you are. This is so dumb. People hit contested shots because their timing is better than me being wide open but am .1 seconds late on release with a 99 3 pointer.

4. animation domination

5. unreal grind for most badges. 2k makes it harder every year.

I'm still enjoying the game but I get where they're coming from. Modes like MyTeam and MyPark gain the most views on YouTube and I can assure you that MyTeam is absolutely dead. Some of my favorite YouTubers like Smoove don't even play this game anymore, which is interesting to me.

Funny thing is that I was thinking about this the other day. It's still crazy to me that entire era of 2K YouTubers from 2010-2015 is pretty much coming to an end. Everyone pretty much grew up and moved on to other things. Outside of maybe Agent00 I can't even get into any these new guys. It's a whole new generation lol.

Park just need yo completely revamped.

Add ranked games maybe some league option.

Do something cause it's too repetitive.

Give us tools to play defense and stop bailing out people with half court shots....

If players are switching to Fortnite, Idc. That just shows me youre not a true basketball fan. And 2K could use less casuals, more real ballers.

This.....is simply not true. Someone I played with for years played competitively in real life, was one of the highest IQ guys I ever played with, follows the NBA, has an extensive knowledge of all things basketball. He stopped playing completely because he got tired of the BS in the game. It hurt his basketball purist brain that he couldn't deal anymore. Some of the reasons being what you listed in your own post.

I've played with people who are absolutely awful and are painful to play with, but Because they're sharpshooters with badges, they get bailed out so much. It hurts my head when I swing the ball to the other side with the intention to make the pass before the pass, but he shoots it anyways while being smothered. "Green light!" is all the validation they need to think they just did something that was ok.

I still play some days of the week but not on a daily basis like years past, much of that because most of the community is terrible and many of my good friends bailed this year.

i play offline with friends now. online is the problem and always has been. This is not news. But 18 definitely went off the deep end this year. I've never seen so many negative reviews in my life for 2k before.

Yep. This is a HUGE thing for me. Smoove has transitioned from COD to 2K to strictly NBA recap videos. I don't even think he plays many games anymore lol. I used to enjoy watching his walkthroughs but times have changed. He's so under the radar that I'm not even sure what he does anymore lol.

I actually lost interest in 2K YouTube about a year or two ago, but I still check on KSpade, though now I mainly just follow him for his sports podcast.

This new generation was made toxic by PrettyBoyFredo, who doesn't even play 2K anymore either lol.

Agree, my play at the Park has declined dramatically from 16 to now. I've only played maybe 450~ games in the park this year. Mainly due to the necessity to grind in MyCareer in order to level up your player rating and badge wise.

Once you get the necessary badges, it's pretty pointless, especially because they took the flexibility out of our hands. Took me months to go from 92 to 93...only to see two worthless attributes get raised. And many of us have had the experience where we pay VC in order to raise an attribute from 65 to...65! Yet our overall goes up. Huh???

I'm aware of all of that, been following Smoove for years lol. But he doesn't upload as much 2K as he has in previous years. Not saying he's going to stop because 2K will always have that early release hype, but he's not playing as much as he used to. Or at least not uploading as much as he used to.

That being said, I don't think 2K is dying or will ever die so long as their is access to debit and credit cards. But for me, I've seen better days with 2K.

if you played a lot of park it’ll be easier to understand . But on this forum there’s a lot of older guys who prefer play now or offline vs cpu. They may play twice a week

I only play PARK and love 2k18




It has it problems but I don't think 2k17 or 16 were better like most of the people claiming 18 is "ded" do.
