If you wait 4 days you can use that extra 40 dollars to just buy the VC you want. The only reason to buy the Anniversary edition is if you're really into MyTeam or you're impatient. There's no other reason.

I don't buy games anymore until they are $29.99 or less(some $19.99) and all patches are out, especially sports games.

This is truly the way to go even though I don't have the patience to do it but I would never pay 100 for a video game, hell games these days make me feel like I am getting ripped off paying the regular price.

I'd be intrigued if the regular version doesn't have the same feature, they have to include more then VC for me to fold.

I was planning on buying the anniversary edition anyway. With LBJ on the cover and how monumental 20 years of playing this game actually is, I couldn't pass up the anniversary edition.

This is what I was talking about when I said 2k is forcing this game to be a 20th anniversary

Definitely not pre-ordering and more than content with playing 2K18 on PC till I see reviews for 19, changes for 19, and across the board gameplay improvements; last year we were overpromised and underdelivered.

I feel as though the people who supported this game from since the Dreamcast days and who don't play my player much are the ones who are being fcuked in the *** and forced by corporate 2k to pay more for crap they don't want just to play it ''early''.

I don't make snap judgements about buying/not buying a game when I know literally nothing about it, but I wasn't planning on spending $100 for this game no matter when the early release was. I don't play MyTeam, and hardly ever use VC due to being an almost exclusive MyLeague guy. I think I have a few hundred thousand just sitting in my account in 2k18, actually.



Spiderman comes out on September 7th as well, plus I'm an EA Access member on XBox so I can mess around with that other game for a few days for free if I get the basketball itch, so those two things coupled with the $100 vs $60 choice, my decision was made pretty easily.



If 2k wants to allow you to play a few days "early" for a higher price, they can do that. None of you are being forced to buy that edition, no matter how you perceive it.

For a certain percentage of individuals, sure it may be just big talk. For me, I'm done until 2k fixes the defense as I've already alluded several pages back.

Here's my track record with other sports games:
(1) Madden - first and last Madden purchase: 2004 PC. Their current gen animations simply aren't up to par. Yes, I've seen the current leaked Madden 19 footage. Classic EA movements are still flooding Madden.

(2) MLB the Show - last and final purchase MLB 2016. I finally decided to call it quits on MLB the Show because the pitching animations, throwing animations, various other animation are no where near realistic. Gameplay issues as well. I actually skipped 15 and gave them the benefit of the doubt with 16 because I did see a few improvement to the outfielders' throwing mechanic, unfortunately, legacy throwing animations is still present in 16. The worst offender is still the pitching mechanics.

(3) NBA 2k18 - will be my last purchase ever until I see defensive improvements. I'm going to miss the 2k's interpretation of the Warriors back to back championship opening day ring ceremony.

This will give me more time to do other things instead of video games.

Yeah, I am definitely not paying $100. I’ll just wait 4 days and hopefully they patch some things. Especially after what a lot of us went through with our MyPlayers last year.

This! I wouldn't spend 40 extra bucks to play 4 days early. Especially when that 40 goes a long way towards purchasing what's sure to be a gem in Spiderman. Even the standard release is still pretty early. Space is limited on my 1X these days and Live looks like more of the same to me just with more emphasis on the street ball stuff so that's a hard pass. Madden has made some nice steps forward so I could see myself splitting time between that and Spiderman until 2K19.

Not going to spend an extra 40 to play early, but id rather get the standard edition because giannis is on the cover anyways. im going to preorder regardless, i guess im just waiting to see what improvements are made to things like gameplay, graphics, CAP, MyLeague.... But tbh, if year-to-year saves are introduced this year, its a must-buy regardless of anything else IMO.
