I'll be waiting to see if it's worth my time. This year was the one year where I was disappointed with the game; the defense is complete garbage, with A+ 3pt shooters being left completely wide open in the corner by the AI defender.

Shooting was odd this year, with defenders only having to within your vicinity (not necessarily in front of you) to affect your shot. Layups likewise were garbage with basically nobody being able to hit a contested layup, I think this is because they made layups timed but didn't give a shot meter for it making it inordinately hard to get layups down for guys with lower ratings.

Not to mention the blow by animation...

The only decent addition was the city in mycareer, but I don't really like that mode so meh. Hopefully they can show some improvement in these areas.

I agree with this, except for you saying that layups dont get hit because theres no meter, i think 2k made layups hard in certain instances because they made the blow by so easy in this game, so they knew people would just be getting layups from isolation too much, its kind of already like this, but they obviously knew that people can get to the rim very easily and had to make any sort of help defense in the vicinity, make the layup miss.

If only the people who get the game early are the ones who would spend $100 on the game. Then those are going to be the same people starting out with a maxed player. This means everyone who buys the game on the actual release date will be going up against all maxed players. They will be forced to spend money to compete even worse than this year was. It's hilarious to me the community stands for this kind of BS. I remember when you bought a game, everyone started on the same playing field. Here's to the death of online competition. Cheers.

Next year 2K should charge $10,000 for people to get the game a month early, just to see what happens. What's the harm? If people wanna spend that then why stop them.

So 100k vc doesn't even get your myplayer maxed out you need 180k
So you would be paying 150 for a maxed character when u can pay 100 for vc and 60 for the game and wait 4 days and have a extra 30k vc for 10 dollars more.

That free game doesn't have to pay licensing fees for the rights to use pro teams, players, stadiums, shoes/attire, music, etc..

But you dont have to pay to be competitive online in the online myplayer

I'm not buying this game early, I'm not spending 100 dollars on it and I'm damn sure not going to spend money on VC. Unless you're a YouTuber I don't get why you would care to spend another 40 bucks to play a game a mere 4 days early.

Best Buy GCU members can get a discount making the game $79.99. Its not the $48.00 I would normally spend for the standard edition but it will have VC along with the early 4 days. I dont care about the gear like that.

This is such an awful move by 2K. I'm one of those people who planned on dropping $100 on day one anyway, but it was with the intent of using that extra $40 on VC. I'm a Pro-Am guy who makes multiple builds and grinding my players isn't any fun to me whatsoever. So spending $40 for 150,000 VC is worth it.

For 2K19, not only have made the early access $20 more than what EA does, they'll also essentially rob me of the extra 50,000 VC I would've normally gotten for the same price. I care nothing about My Team packs or whatever else comes with it, so that doesn't do a thing for me.

I'm not a fan of this at all. Will I buy it on day one, though? Probably. And they know others like me will do the same. This was such an unnecessary move for them, they're moving crazy units.

And completely unrelated, but while I'm ranting Ive got to say it one more time. PLEASE LET US SKIP CUTSCENES IN 2K19. PLEASE! ****! ��

I've already committed to not buying 2K19. The September release date, plus this, makes it strike two on 2K20. They are testing us, and I'm not gonna fail.

Not sure if this has been discussed yet, but playing four days early this year can only be achievable if you pre-order the $99.99 20th Anniversary Edition.

Pre-ordering the standard $59.99 edition will NOT allow you to play early (as it has every year in the past).

I myself didnt support these practices n other showed either. Dont support year one, 2 ,3 etc , pre buy to get extra items. Not fair n game industry is getting money hungry. Bad enough we pay $60 for a game( that u come out with every yr) . How hard is it to make something like wow n just update with expansion n updates instead of new games were you spend all this real money to start all over next yr.

I get the sentiment of this thread, i really do. But it seems like we’re getting mad at the crack dealer because the only way to get high is to buy their product.
