Re: NBA 2K19 MyLEAGUE and MyGM Developer Blog

Loving what i'm reading about the slider customization! OperationSports nerds like us must be losing their **** right now.

Very cool how you can adjust draft pick value per team state.

Also the slider where you can set the "player fame importance", "overall rating important" and "team style importance". I wonder if this will be for the overall league or for each team? It would be interesting to give the Spurs a low "player fame importance" and a high "team fit importance", and give the Lakers a "player fame importance" or something.

For these two sliders, if you REALLY want to go down the rabbit hole, you can actually adjust the progression/regression rates of each and every attribute in the game, individually! For example, this means you can, at a micro-level, adjust how quickly players develop a specific attribute. You can then adjust how the attribute behaves once the player reaches his peak (does it stop growing entirely, or perhaps slow to a crawl but continue to grow?). And then you can adjust how quickly it will decline once they are past their peak, etc. These are incredibly powerful tools that won’t find in any other game, anywhere.
OH MY GOD. My dreams are coming true!

The customization options sound awesome, but slightly sceptical about how it'll run. Hopefully ML isn't buggy out of the box like last year.

Now all i need is a good CAP system and i'm sold.

Create Player (or CAP, if you will) has seen a LOT of improvements year-over-year, all based 100% on the feedback from you, our fans.
Ok this sounds promising. But i've been burned before. I'm gonna wait and see what people's impressions are before i buy it.

The new draft sounds cool. Very needed. No mention of new scouting report cards though.

I'm very excited about 1-16 playoff seeding and the lottery tournament, but I just hope that we can set it for the first season. All of these features (like the sliders for progression and regression) just got me counting down the days until NBA 2k19 releases.

Does anyone know how the contracts in MLO is going to work? There's no hard salary cap in the NBA so will there be luxury tax included in the game?

You can if you choose Start in Offseason. The rule changes will be voted on under League Meetings.

However, the five proposed changes are random. It might not come up.

If you really insist, though, I recommend turning off Autosave just before you enter the League Meetings screen (seeing the proposals makes them unchangeable), then save, and re-load the file if you don't see something you want.

Not true one new edition is you can now choose your rule changes.

From the blog: NBA 2K17 saw the introduction of Dynamic Rule Changes, a feature that has turned out to be a fan favorite based on all of the “add this rule idea” feedback we continue to receive on it. One of the limitations of the feature was that you were limited to whatever five rules the game chose for you to vote on. In NBA 2K19, we are giving you the ability to replace any proposed rule to one of your choosing from our ever-growing list of rule changes. In fact, I expect many of you will be quite surprised by the variety in our library when it comes to rule changes…enjoy!

Re: NBA 2K19 MyLEAGUE and MyGM Developer Blog

The biggest thing I'm taking away from this blog is that it might damn near possible eliminate the micromanaging you would need in myleague to keep the league balanced and not looking like a hot mess... I can potentially ditch having a 30 team controlled franchise save file... Because lord knows in previous 2k's it was pretty common to see teams draft poorly no matter what their statue was (rebuilding, selling, buying and contending), stacking at one or two positions leaving others lacking, basically burying their young talent in the depth chart in favor of high rated players at their position (there are some teams in the NBA that are notorious for doing that IRL but too many teams were doing that in myleague no matter what their team status was) and ultimately leaving undervalued and underrated talent in the free agent pool basically because they had a "low overall rating"

hopefully ai teams can make more than "player A" for "player B" direct swaps and ultimately better trades without me holding their hand to do so... I would love to be able to just play to improve my team and have it end up actually being a challenge... the customization is out of this world but the ai doesn't always seem to be up to snuff to really make these kind of additions really shine and pop... it kinda makes me sad that we don't have a football game with this kind of depth franchise wise... Madden still doesn't have a playable probowl because of "memory issues"... yet 2k has all of these additions and their game is usually twice the size of Madden memory wise (25 to 30 GB for Madden vs. 55 to 60 GB for NBA 2k over the past 2 years)...

if madden had this kind of depth I would be a happy camper because I honestly know football way better than I do basketball... 2k always brings it every year even throughout all of the complaining and shenanigans... their biggest problem hasn't been depth... just polish on these grandiose ideas

I hope that means I can bring back handchecking and no defensive three seconds rule?

I wonder if one rule change, is implementing a hard cap? I'd assume that would be insanely tough to program. Would love to see how it'd change the landscape after 2 or 3 years in MyLeague.

I wonder if one of the rule changes mean I can split the teams up into four divisions like they had it back in the day. The atlantic, central, Midwest and Pacific

Also, any news on fixing the tendencies and how they relate to the stat engine issue? In the past player tendencies never fluctuated. Thus you had a 90 ovr Jason Tatum averaging 12 ppg.

I’d like to see us have the ability to change the shot clock. I’m thinking of the incredible college rosters that are made here on OS and applying the college shot clock would be a cool edition!
