Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
I saw someone who was a 6'6" pure lock SF with max wingspan. Steal, block, shot contest are all 99-98. His vertical is 94, speed is 90, lateral quickness is 99.
That's really intriguing because I've never seen someone with that build. Normally pure locks at SF are 6'10", but I love the stats of the 6'6" build.
That looks really amazing vs PG's and SG's. Pretty good vs some PF's as well.Comment

Tbh steals aren't really a good measure for good defense this yearComment

Thanks for that info.

Wait so, I just read that in Pro-AM if you're a lockdown SF, you don't drop the attributes of a PG if you guard him. Only one position above or below. Now it makes sense as to why people are making pure lock SG's. With a pure lock SG, you can guard anyone on the perimeter and have your defensive stopper work against them. That's interesting.Comment

If the height difference is within 3 inches, you will affect the PG tooLast edited by franzis; 10-01-2018, 10:06 AM.Comment

Make sure it's a PG, it's incredibly hard to get badges with an SG or SF in my career. You will just be guarding someone standing in the corner and the second you leave them the CPU will pass it to that player and it goes in like 80% of the time.Comment

I saw some guy who was getting like 70+ ppg as a pure lock PG because he's able to call plays. There some screen play that let's you do wide open dunks and alley oops over and over again.
What height, wingspan and weight do you recommend for a pure lock PG? I'll check it out when I get home from work.Comment

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
I guess nobody is talking about that because most people I'm seeing are making a 6'10" or so SF, so most PGs wont be within range of that height.Comment

Wow, I didn't know that. I've never done a MyPlayer, so all of this stuff is new to me. So if my SF is 6'6" and the PG I'm defending is 6'3" then my defensive stopper would impact him? That's awesome.

The 3 inches thing is new for everyone, it wasn't there in 2k18.
However, I think that making builds shorter than default height is worth only if you have HOF/gold defensive stopper (pure or defending as primary).Comment

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
I don't get into all the scientific stuff lol
I made my dude 6'10 max wingspan min weight.
I can cover pgs without the aid of badges. Call me old school but I believe locking someone up is just that...locking them up.
If you take and make a contested shot, bravo. But you won't get past me without working your butt off.
As far as minimum weight effecting me against bigs, no disrespect, but I don't see any good bigs. Just dudes who stand down low and grab boards and clog the paint...easy defense.
As far as badges go on a SF...your best bet is to grind online tbh...my career imo isn't good for grinding certain badges...and I'm getting all my badges faster playing against real people..mostly rec center..and I just go and do my drills in between

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
I was worried about making a PG as a pure lock because of the lower ball handling. The SF's badges are great, but you're saying it's really difficult to get the badges done with a SF is kind of discouraging me from making one.

I have a 6'10 pure LDD SF and I'm still on silver pick pocket because my guy generally doesn't get the ball in my career. I have to play against the Lakers or whatever team KD is on to actually defend the ball a lot and get chances for pick pocket, it's really frustrating. I think at 90 I can pick which position I want to guard though, so that will help, but it's annoying that it takes this long when Sharps and other archetypes got their HOF badges in the first week. When I play online I get put at PF even though my guy is only 200 pounds, I don't really get a lot of chances for pick pocket unless they have a slasher at the 4.
If I could do it again, I'd make a 6'5 or 6'6 pure lock PG with default wingspan or 1-2 clicks to the right just so my threeball can stay in the 70s, weight would probably be around 215-220, basically a slightly taller but slightly lighter Marcus Smart.Comment

Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19
My goal would be pure lock, so if I made a 6'6" SF or whatever position I would be going for HoF defensive stopper.Comment
