Re: Pro Am Builds For 2k19

My favorite 3 man squad I'm seeing is a pure sharp 1 or 2, a pure stretch 4, and a glass cleaner.

Playing dudes with 6, 700 games played and 400 more wins than losses and dropping em off every time.

Idk who's getting beat by them but it's so easy to defend lol

Just switch on everything and whoever covers the glass just drop back and help screens.

The second I make contact I reach or bump them back...I get so many steals...they waste so much energy running around they wind up losing the ball or missing...

Playmaking sharps are much harder to guard in that regard..like if you make a pure sharp guard I'm ripping you.

I don't wanna be Jordan, I don't wanna be Bird or Isiah, I don't wanna be any of those guys.

I'd say it depends on what else your friends are running---pick what they don't have. But SG and SF lockdowns are great. I have a 6'9 225 Rebounding Rim Protector that I really like, sometimes big strong archetypes can give me fits, but I can run the floor well and be a part of a switching scheme.

Of those two options, I'd probably go with 6'10 pure sf, but make it a light weight

          others here have that build

Just an update on my 6"11 PF Shot Creating Defender:

Right now he is only a 68 overall btw
I made this as a counter to the normal Pure Stretch 4's and I can bully them on the glass and on offense

I have Silver Hustle Rebounder and almost have my rebounding maxed out and he is grabbing boards on Offense and Defense over Glass Cleaners. And this is without getting my vertical near its max!

Defensively I am getting like 3-4 blocks a game and Getting Takeover at least 1 time a game. Also about 3 steals a game

Offensively, I am sprinting past 7"3 centers for points, and hitting the mids with ease. My dunking is getting up there too. I have hit a few post moves on some people.

When I max out this player's speed, vertical, and shooting... Im going to be a nightmare to deal with lol.

            Easy 10-10-3-3-3 a game

Yea, I have a 6'10 200 lb pure lockdown and I love him.

On offense im a slasher...that's how I see it. Cut to the rim, drive if I have it..spot up hit corners 3s and short jumpers.

Most my offense comes from steals and transition. If you know how to play defense you'll score just off of that alone.

I know I could have better shooting if I went shorter and shorter wingspan but I block and contest anything...steal so many bad passes...and generally just annoy my matchups.

I got a pure shot who's like the complete opposite so it's good to change it up. One build nothing but score and one nothing but d up.

I still get bruiser gold and with the way 2k matches up this year I haven't played anyone who physically outmatches me.

I got lined up a few times at the 4, but I'm too smart to get posted up on once I feel the hard push I reach and it's a easy knock away.

As far as boards go, positioning is more important...being 6'10 with good rebounding stats for a SF and also high vertical means I can snag some...as long as it's not a pure glass but at that point I'ma be toast regardless of weight.

Easily a great player once you get your badges.

Crazy I just played a squad like this last night. Yeah basically they set screens at the top and try to confuse you by running wraps. But it’s pretty easy to defend if you actually communicate. I’m the Center with the 2 guys I’ve been playing with recently but even i’ll switch onto the shooters. Sometimes it means conceding the rebound since I’m on the perimeter but it’s still pretty effective.

Honestly our group isn’t a ton different (Playmaking Sharpshooter, Stretch 4 and my Rebounding Athletic Finisher). We mostly hunt for 3s by setting screens and trying to confuse defenders but they’ll actually dump it off to me if the other team gets sloppy just trying to deny the 3.

As long as 3s drop at such a high rate, the strategy isn’t likely to change.

Height really isn’t a huge deal for boards like it used to be. I’m averaging 14 a game in JRC and my guy is 6’11. I regularly outrebound max size Pure GCs. I honestly would probably be over 15 a game except I regularly end up at the 4 matched up against Stretches which kills my defensive boards.

Our squad is like..not what you see lol..no shooters.

I play pure shot at the 1, but I'm really a 2. My other friend is a slashing shot creater 3, I think 6'8 or 9. And then our 3rd is a athletic rim protector.

We still hit 3s..but the park style where there's lots of dribbling and 3 points is not us lol..always been like this tho..I find it more fun

Tbh, it depends on how you play. I'm only an 88 right now...with gold defensive stopper, silver rim protector, silver pick pocket, silver rebounder, silver posterizer...

I play a lot of rec center with him so I find it easier to grind online over offline...the CPU even on hof isn't aggressive. You get good progress towards caps but not badges.
