i'm completely confused. so the otf defensive adjustments such as shrink the floor only work properly if ace is enabled?

Not to sidetrack - just a #simnation note - when OG first put this stuff in in 2k16 I asked repeatedly for specific descriptions of 1) how the otf defensive options translate to sets of pause menu manual users adjustments, for each option 2) how the two available user control systems (otf and pause menu) interact with or override each other 3) how the answers to all of those questions change with ACE on versus ACE off.

The only answer we ever really got was that pause menu user choices with ACE off supersede everything.

Since we’ve also discovered that the pause menu controls don’t even all do what they say they do (PnR center settings reversed with other pnr settings), and that this error may still be in the game (no day 1 patch yet), I think it’s fair to question all this stuff a little harder 3 years in to these systems being put into the game.

i'm with u on all of that and had the same understanding about the pause menu overriding the otf adjustments. man, i wish they would test these things more thoroughly... hopefully a dev will see us and straighten things out.

Just a point of order, the menus are messed up, but man does this game play a great game of basketball. 18, has a lot of flaws and I sure this one will as well. 19, is a superior product to 18 tempted to say "orders of magnitude" honeymoon period withstanding. The Defense is so far so good, I don't play like Sam to exploit, I just play basketball and try to read the match ups and take what the defense gives. If you play that way you're going to love this game.

Are Randy Brown, Jason Caffey, Scott Burrell, and Byron Russell appearing on Classic Bulls and Classic Jazz? If they arent on the teams, I really need to scout for youtubes on player creation. The new CAP system is amazing this year.

Just a point of order, the menus are messed up, but man does this game play a great game of basketball 18 had a lot of flaws and I sure this one will as well. 19 is a superior product to 18 tempted to say "orders of magnitude" honeymoon period withstanding. They have done a great job with the arena atmosphere this year. Unfortunately, they don't let those things be part of your upload. I was playing the Blazers in Portland tight game McCollum was trying to win the ship apparently because he took over from the 2nd to the 4th quarter and the crowd was really into it especially when they went on a couple of runs.

EDIT: Actually, is there (or did someone already mention) a setting to prevent those "otter porter defense" leaving the corner 3 wide open. That was still a major issue with 2k18 on default setting. I did see some of it making its way into 2k19.

Hypothetical: I'm Golden State. Opposing CPU HOF is the Lakers.

My most important point that I'm trying to make is that on-the-fly in the moment when the CPU HOF LBJ has the ball with 12 seconds left in the 3rd.
I see a Laker's screen/pick/roll that I want to completely change up from my original gameplan. I don't want to pause the game and change defensive settings (because that's not simulating the experience in the moment).

Secondly, if I have the global setting to not switch all game long, but how would I take into account those moments in the game when I actually need to switch when ....
(A) I don't have the ball in my hand
(B) I'm on defense in the middle of the shot clock.

You can't exactly pause the game or call a timeout when the opposing team has the ball in their hands. It is also a crucial play during the game.

I need to make an immediate gameplan adjustment on the fly for screen/pick/roll.

Just put the defender guarding porter on tight or deny off-ball if he is in gap he will actually be in helps side low post for rotations. You can control this with the off-ball pressure as well as no help settings.

As for the menu issue, we alerted the engineers on this during the cycle and our expectation was that it was fixed. Perhaps it is in the day 1. Perhaps not. We are trying to track down if this is still an issue in the final build.

Also just fyi there is nothing a producer can really do about a menu. That is a different team with their own set of priorities and engineers. We can say hey this isn't working right, after that we lose a lot of control. Again our expectation was that this was a non-issue.

Could you or Scott OG proviede an explanation how ACE, manual defensive settings, and the defensive strategies (No Three’s, Junk, etc) work with one another?

There has been a ton of confusion about this since ACE and defensive settings were introduced.

Can you manually edit and move around players from the historic draft classes? For example, could I go into the 1997 draft class and put Tim Duncan on a roster or another draft class?
