I traded Tony Delk and 2 second round picks to the Kings for a young Gerald Wallace, and I ended up flipping him to the Knicks in a deal with Rodney Rogers and picks for Marcus Camby.

C - Marcus Camby / Tony Battie / Travis Knight
PF - Antoine Walker / Dennis Rodman / Herb Williams
SF - Eric Williams / Walter McCarty / Kedrick Brown
SG - Paul Pierce / Jiri Welsch
PG - Kenny Anderson / Dana Barros / Howard Eisley

Closer to the trade deadline, I'm going to make the Ricky Davis-to-Boston trade that happened in real life, but I'm going to do it in my version of the 02-03 season even though that happened in 03-04 haha.

With Pierce, Walker, Camby, my 2003 picks and eventually Ricky Davis, I'm set up pretty nicely in season 1!
I'm 9-8 now. I lost a few games after Antoine Walker got injured for a couple weeks, he should be back in one or two more. My bench has been much better, however, since adding Ricky Davis and Mike James. I also made a move for Jared Jeffries to get a long, athletic defensive player.

    C - Marcus Camby / Travis Knight / Jeff Hood (7'0" G-League call-up)
PF - Antoine Walker / Dennis Rodman
SF - Paul Pierce / Walter McCarty / Jared Jeffries / Jumaine Jones
SG - Jiri Welsch / Ricky Davis
PG - Kenny Anderson / Dana Barros / Mike James

Almost at the All-Star break and trade deadline. Paul Pierce is an All-Star starter averaging 26 ppg. Antoine Walker didn't make All-Star but he is having a nice season for me averaging 18 / 6 / 4. Marcus Camby is averaging a double-double, as well.

Team Shaquille (All-Star starters) - Shaq, Kobe, KG, Pierce, Francis

Team Tracy (All-Star starters) - T-Mac, Duncan, Iverson, Hill, Mourning

2 or 3 more games until All-Star weekend. Can't wait to see who is in the 3PT contest and whatnot.

      Figured out a work around.

Not perfect but it’ll get the work done. Until *if* they ever fix the resign issue.

Also just got the game on sale. However instead of finding out all the broken stuff this year by trial and error, I'm hoping people here can help out

Has a good set of sliders for long term myleague play been figured out yet? Are there any settings I have to do at the start of a league to make stuff work? Any huge bugs I need to avoid?

I bought the game from Walmart instead of Amazon last night cause I was too dang excited ha, I am rolling with Schandit1s. So far really solid. Played 1 full game and a bunch of quick games just 1 half with different teams. I like them.

I have been trying to do a realistic MyLeague and control all teams. Does anyone know how to get the CPU to send trade offers when I am user controlling all teams? I have trades on auto with trade approval on, and I have not been able to get the CPU to ever send a trade.

What I've learned so far from 3 years of sims.
-with salary sliders things are way better than 2k18 thank god.
-feels like mentorship/badges don't work half the time?
-inside shooting is overtuned, i might have to turn down the sliders for it. Players just wander into the paint, throw up some random contested BS, and shoot 60%+. Every game both teams shoot 55%+ because of this. Especially annoying when playing the lakers because their lack of 3pt shooting doesn't matter when Brandom Ingram just awkwardly moseys into the paint and shoots 14-18 on contested shots.
-draft class quality is insanely high. In 2k18 you needed to jack it up to like 80 to maintain league talent, I've already turned it down to 40.
                  -**** the Lakers and Celtics

Re: Official NBA 2k19 MyLeague/MyGM Thread

I just bought 19 on sale. First time back in the series since ‘15. I’ve been trying out MyGM the last few days and it’s been an absolute slaughter. Playing as the Pacers on Medium difficulty. I’ve restarted like 7 times. Simmed probably 10-14 seasons.

Never won more than 40 games or made the playoffs.

I’ve had seasons where my best players are riddled with injuries. Oladipo broke a vertebrae in the first game. Came back, broke his wrist in his first game back.

I’ve cleared cap space and signed big name free agents right off the bat. Guys like PG (yes, I even tried bringing that snake home) Rondo, traded for Mike Conley...

I’ve cleared out the whole staff upgrading it across the board, at least according to the game.

But the L’s still pile up season after season.

I’m pretty hands-off with coaching and training. I let the coaches and trainers handle all of that as soon as I can. (You know, what I’m paying them for.)

What am I doing so wrong? I feel like I’m building competitive rosters. Team chemistry is usually in the 80’s. But yet we lose a lot of games, and a lot of them by a lot of points. I’m really at a loss for why my team can’t get its act together and win games. Or at least be competitive with any consistency.

Anyone want to take a crack at what I’m doing wrong?

The sim engine is a black box so it's pretty hard to tell sometimes. Usually over the course of a entire season the results make sense in my experience (it really shows its problems in smaller sample sizes like playoff series), but sometimes it just hates teams the whole year So if you have good roster that fits together well then it could just be sim sorcery screwing you over.

IDK how much coaching settings really matter but it's worth trying to mess with them a bit, see if they align with your roster. Not sure if play settings matter for black box sim but I always make sure that those make sense as well. This stuff doesn't take much time at all.

Customizing player training is a surefire way to generate value and improve players but it's a huge timesink so I understand avoiding it.

Talking about player training? It's not too complicated but potentially very time consuming.

For almost every attribute (except potential, durability and intangibles) there is an associated training slider. You put more points into the stuff you want to go up, and less points in the stuff you don't care about. Simple

You want to group attributes into 3 buckets: stuff you want to stay the same, stuff you want to improve, and stuff you don't care about and can let decline. You can only really improve a few things at a time so most attributes you'll want to keep in "stay the same" range. For physical and mental this is around 7.5-8.5, for fundamentals it's around 4.5-5.0. Default training just spreads the points around everywhere so all attributes are in this category and training basically does nothing on it's own. We don't want that.

So how do you free up points to improve stuff? You identify dump stats, things you don't care about. Most guards don't need post attributes. Most bigs don't need off the dribble shooting. Some guys have low dunk tendency so they don't need dunk attributes. This is where it can get time consuming, to do this right you have to look at player tendencies and see what stuff they won't do. Set all the useless stuff to 0, now you have a bunch of free points.

Now put those points into a few things you want to go up. I *think* there's diminishing returns so don't put everything into 1 attribute, but for fundamental 9.0-12.0 seems solid, for physical 13.0-18.0, for mental IDK 12-13, I don't mess with that one much.

Doing this, given a few years you can mold guys into the player you want. For example I like taking cheaper mid-70's guys with good tendencies and a decent attribute base and then refining them into elite roleplayers (sharpshooters, rebounding specialists).
