I have been using JB's and Bigdougswan's fictional draft classes for awhile and it inspired me to make my own. If you guys haven't check out their classes, you definitely need to go do that.

The classes I have made are very similar to theirs in the sense that they will have studs, busts, solid role players, guys who never live up to their potential, etc. I understand how peak age creates all of these, so no need to worry about having guys into their late 30's performing at an All-Star level like the default 2k rosters do.

I have attached a scouting report for my classes. It provides some scouting, some back story. I did not want to only do scouting and take away from the in-season scouting you will do. The scouting reports are in the same format JB uses in his classes.

Please let me know how you think the classes are. I am open to all criticism because I am just trying to make the game more enjoyable for everyone else. Let me know if I need to tweak anything at all or if you found something weird. Lastly, I would love to hear about how these guys are doing in your MyLeague, so once you use them, let me know!

My page link is right here if you guys would like to check it out.

      question;

does system proficiency actually do anything? or is it just there?

I started a cpu vs cpu fantasy draft myleague and its the most fun ive EVER had in a sports game! Never got into basketball games much but cpu vs cpu is so beautiful in this game with good sliders, it is such a joy to watch. I have the greatest sliders, it feels like watching a real game. Shoutout to Banskey, Schnaidt, NBAonTNT, and others for excellent sliders. The franchise mode is so deep it is unbelievable to me when compared to games like Madden. While playing the role of GM for the team I've learned so much about basketball over the many seasons I've managed and watched the team. I have watched over 500 full 48 minute games in this league and its now the year 2025. I know a lot more about basketball now. How the salary cap works, trades, player rights, extensions, contracts, the draft, how to build a good team, different coaching schemes, and more. I have been able to enjoy watching real life NBA even more now that I have learned so much from the game. It has just been such an amazing experience.

After a few straight seasons of lottery picks and terrible trades (I had no first round pick for 3 years) I learned from my mistakes and had an improvement and next year missed the playoffs by just 1 game. The next year, I traded for Jimmy Butler help push for the playoffs and I ended up losing in overtime of game 7 in the eastern conference finals. It was such a heartbreaking moment. But I knew my team was going to bounce back. The next year, we got the #1 seed and narrowly advanced to the finals and matched up with the 65 win defending champion Pheonix Suns who have 3 players over 90 OVR and swept every playoff series so far. I stole game 1 and 2 on the road, and then won the next 2 for a stunning NBA finals upset. I then was able to acquire 36 year old Kevin Durant, still a 91 OVR. I have the most stacked team in the league now - I've built a super team!

        PG- Donavan Mitchell (89)
SG- Julian Lampley (89) 1st round pick in 2020
SF- Gus Battle (87) 2nd round pick in 2021
        PF- Kevin Durant (91)
        C- Myles Turner (84)

        Bench-
        PG- Collin Sexton (84)
SG- Cole Clancy (82) 1st round pick in 2021
        SF- Jimmy Butler (85)
PF- Clifton Hobbs (81) 2nd round pick
        PF- Derek Favors (77)
        C- Hassan Whitesides (78)
        C- Dewayne Dedmon (75)

The trades I've made have been excellent and I have been able to use my mid level exceptions to help patch up some holes on the team due to salary restrictions (Whitesides, Favors). I've got something like negative 90 million salary cap right now, and right up against the hard cap. So far in 2025 I'm 22-2. And you know the real kicker? I made a trade a while ago for another teams 2025 1st rounder, and they currently have a bottom 5 record. The sky is the limit for this team!

Re: Official NBA 2k19 MyLeague/MyGM Thread

Hi Guys, my first time trying out MyLeague, using all 30 teams as User Operated. I found Schnaidt's sliders directly from a google search. I quickly realized how much work it is going to be on micro managing all 30 teams in the NBA, however I feel I'm up to the challenge

I decided to create some cell-sheets on openoffice-calc representing all 30 teams including player position, age, height, weight and of course contract status. I feel like even though this is more work it could help me in team building. So now onto my biggest question?

How do I decide which team gets which player if I want it to stay fairly balanced and realistic? I'd appreciate some guidance and advice on this as obviously it would be good to have some of the weaker sides rise up and make it more of a challenge. Looking at both the Celtics and Lakers have a considerable amount of championships I was thinking of trying to team build some of the sides that have not won a championship yet but been so close and have them compete with teams that are currently at their peak.

My other question is relating to draft and releasing players? How will I know which players to cut in anticipation of the draft, should I leave the cpu to target list to help me identify team needs and go from that?

So far I'm loving the realism this game offers, as well as the depth of team building on official NBA Teams.
          Cheers

Playing 2k myleague is like a lil kid in a arcade game shop. Just buckets of endless fun! I recommend the collapse series on SBnation YouTube. It highlights how teams rise to prominence and how they collapsed. Great content for fellow armchair GM's.

Re: Official NBA 2k19 MyLeague/MyGM Thread

Ive revived my 2k18 League with the Magic after a pretty long break. I finished the second season (thanks to my troubles finding the right sliders and a great Aaron Gordon) with the best record in the East. In tough and close Playoffs, I beat the Heat 3-1 and the 76ers 3-2, but finally lost in the Conference Finals vs the Raptors. In the end, Golden State crowned themselves Champions once again.

I focused on gathering the final pieces to a championship run in the Offseason. I signed Middleton to a 4-year-deal worth 140 million. I also signed Rodney Hood and Nemanja Bjelica as role players. Finally I traded for Eric Bledsoe who joined the terrible Bulls last year. They got an aging Isaiah Thomas, Moe Wagner (both on short term contracts) and a lottery protected 2021 1st rounder in return.

My lineup for the upcoming season:

              PG Bledsoe (81)/Weatherspoon (70)
              SG Barrett (82)/Jackson (78), Hood (76)
              SF Middleton (86)/Isaac (80), Ross (75)
              PF Gordon (87)/Bjelica (76)
              C Bamba (76)/Reid (74), Humphrey (71)

Im pretty happy and hyped right now. Maybe Ill finally win a championship in 2k

This may not be the right place to ask, but how can you manage the league and especially cap space for the league as a whole in mygm? I’m staring down a free agency period where there is literally only 3 teams with any cap space (and only $12-18m at that) yet a slew of good free agents about to hit the market.

I’m worried about what is going to happen, and whether there is anything that can be done or do I simply have to go to a myleague so I can manage this more effectively with contract values, etc.

I need help badly. Running a myleague online, removed some inactive users now I can’t invite anyone to fill the only open team in league.error code: 183d7094 . No matter how many invites I’ve sent no one can join and I’m stuck at 29 users, I really hope there’s a way to fix this, I’m not trying. To remake we had a successful draft with no glitch until this happened smh.

I really think this is a prime example that the whole MLO community’s is tiredness of this broken, game mode and we’d be willing to spend VC for a mode that actually works and the developers actually put it out without any bugs/glitches. It’s literally the only game mode they neglect this bad. Win win situation, they make money off the mode and we finally are able to play a MLO that’s actually works since like 2k12

So I’ve been trying to come up with a way to do a start today but adding all the new coaches that have been hired for example Frank Vogel. He’s actually in the game for the classics pacers team yet when u look in the candidates section for coaches/staff, he nor Jason Kidd can be found. Thought about just using a generic look a like for him and Jason Kidd or I’m thinking of just starting a new season with the current rosters but changing the coaches to reflect the rosters today..

For trades, I determine which player or players should be traded, then make up around 10 trades for that team and put them in a spreadsheet. I try to make it a trade that make sense for both sides. Once I'm done creating trades I number them and use Random.Org to determine which one I make. It can be time consuming especially in the offseason and at the deadline but I actually enjoy it so it's not that bad for me.

As far as releasing players. I most let the CPU handle it but I will micromanage that some if I see something that I think it really out of whack. In the draft, I will let the CPU handle it but if I see something really crazy like Zion not going #1, then I will step in. Also, if a team starts stacking too much at a particular position, then I look at them making a mid-draft trade. At the end of the day, it's your league and you can do no wrong. Just have fun and roll with it.

Like, "Offense 88 Defense 84 Overall 86" or whatever.

I can't find it in any of the menus.

You have to go to options and then position settings.

                            Question.

In year 3 of myLeague- Just played a game, where Kemba was destroying me, but then, they subbed him out with 2 minutes to go in the 4th Quarter- I ended up winning.

Also the next game, Devin Booker who is the highest rated player on the suns, Got subbed out in the 4th with about 4 minutes to go.

Is there any reason why this happens? Will it happen that way in the playoffs aswell?

I'm not totally familiar with contract extensions but I have a guy on my team willing to resign but I can only offer him a two year contract extension. Seems like I should be able to offer him a four year deal but I can't.

Is that a bug or is there a chance that is correct?

If it's correct, can someone link me to rules about contract extensions that detail the limitation?
