A lot of the shots he took are Klay Thompson game 6 "this guy is unconscious" type shots

But every game is Klay Thompson game 6 for him.

I remember a while ago when they had shot quality grades --- not around anymore as far as I know, right ? Now all it shows is timing and defense quality.

You had to EARN your way to an A- kind of shot, IIRC. If you made one pass and took a shot immediately, the shot quality was lower. Moving the ball around and finding ray Allen in the corner after several passes got you a GREAT shot

Seems like it was a lot more realistic then, but I might not be remembering correctly. But I liked how it was then.

That was when career mode wasn't a big thing and we didn't have game breaking badges. We need to go back to that time!

Even in a three point heavy offense like D'Antoni, he says take threes or dunks/layups...but even pringles wouldn't say "f the open layup, take this three because it has a higher chance of going in" because that's just not realistic, but in this game that's the case

Good lord. The saddest part of this video is dude actually thinks he's good taking garbage contested shots that happen to go in. This is what 2K creates.
"I scored 150 pts in a game!" Yeah buddy, you did. But if this game had any realism, your iq would make you score 5.



Edit: Lemme just add one of his quotes --> "Deep, double teamed Three...GREEN". If that doesn't embody 2K's descent into casual/arcade, Idk what does. You got casuals out here thinking they're gods because they "mastered" a jump shot, yet their shot IQ is trash.

Fix yo game 2K!

- Nerf Limitless Range badge
- It should be the FURTHER away THE better the shot %. The CLOSER the WORSE. Nerf Deep Deadeye Badge. Yet I've missed plenty of WIDE open, while greening shots with a defender closer. Why? Stupid badges that REWARD BAD SHOTS.
- Make shot contesting easier (hey let's make it harder for 2k19 so SS have more advantages! genius!)
- Mask Pure SS's slower. They need to be more like Matt Bonners and less like Reggie Miller

I didnt see that many contested shots. Majority were open shots

Its ridiculously unbalanced between outside and inside man...been playing on my friends 91 pure sharp lately and every game I'm shooting 80% on 3's. Makes me think why even bother with any other build lol.

It's not worse than just last year. I had 14, 16 & 18 and shooting has never been this broken. There isn't even much players on game. You need to look 10-30 mins for game at REC which is by the way huge step back from last year pro-am walk on.

I'm the opposite as I find rec games quicker to join. I play that more than the park now.

Because fun. I find playing realistic basketball way more fun than just running up and shooting awful shots every time down the court. And when I get a player like that on my team, I get annoyed, even when they're shooting 80%+. It's just boring to play that way.

Last night I joined a group of 4 guys, that I didn’t know, for a few games of Rec. They clearly all knew each other.
Before the game they were telling the PG not to cost us the game and I thought they were joking.
He was a Shot Creating Sharp PG. He didn’t make a PG for PG reasons, he made one so that he would always have the ball. He went on to take over 30 shots in the first game and between the rest of us we took maybe 3 shots a piece.
He would come down the court do a couple of cheesy moves and take a 3, most of which went in. He has 1 assist and no one else had less than 3. I lead the team as the PF with 6. We win by 6 points, he had 45.
Next game, more of the same. He again shot over 30 shots, this time his percentage wasn’t as good as the first game, he only made like 55% of his shots this game again 1 assist. We lost the game by 4 and they finally said if you’d pass the ball like a PG, we could have won. He said look at my stats, I’m the reason that we even had a chance.
Next game as the game is starting, he invited the opposing teams PG to the party so that he could tell him he was gonna drop 40 on his head.
They started having me and the other PF, playing SF, bring the ball up so that we could actually have some semblance of a PG.
The game ends and he put up 40 shots, about 45% and scored 34. He gave up 37. We won because all but two players from the other team quit.
The last game that I played with them, we lost, because he invites the PG we just played against to play with us. Between the two of them they shot about 60 shots and I had 1.
Every single game we played I, the 6’11” two-way post scorer, lead the team in assists.

That’s odd usually teams tend to drift away from the pg and make the other guard the primary ball handler

Created a shot creating lockdown 2 days ago.
First game in rec center I hit 4/5 3pts 80%.
I have a 64 3 ball.

The top 10 teams last year and their WIDE OPEN shooting percentages are posted below.

As you will see below, the top 10 best teams last year shot 39-43% last year.
And in 2k you have sharps shooting 70% wide open or sometimes contested. Also the volume of shots these players are taking on 2k with seemingly no penalty is another issue.
5 out isnt going anywhere ever, until open shooting percentages go down or green releases are changed.
