For me playing as a center, games are starting near instantly.

The issue is the lack of bigs and the fact that this year 2K doesn't start the game without 2 bigs (PF or C). It makes sense because it's hard if your team has one big vs 2 bigs on the other team, but I still think they should remove this limitation. Game is still winnable with one big and people are tired from waiting.

Another way to solve that would be to make the bigs attractive again.

Right now nobody passes the ball to us bigs due to being afraid of pass lane steals, and bigs can't finish inside well either. Reduce steals a bit and increase bigs finishing chances inside a bit.

It makes playing a big a less than stellar experience, especially if you don't rebound that well. You just never get the ball and when you do, you usually can't finish inside.

Then again, I like 2K a lot this year. A lot of steps were made to make it more similar to real life and it's a good thing.

I have a lot of fun playing rec, proam and a bit of park. Offline mycareer is a lot better to play too with objectives and a slightly higher difficulty level.

I'm French and 43 years old. I played with Bosnians, Swedish, Latvian, German, English and multiple French teams who became online friends. It's fun talking and playing with all those people around Europe

Loading times are miles better too, and overall there are less bugs.

Things I'd like as improvements :

    - park matchmaking / park record watching issue of people only wanting to play worse players. Force people to play with randoms too and / or mostly vs same level teams.
    - removing the shirt color bug in rec center (I already had a game with 8 people wearing white shirts)
    - allowing starting rec games with only 1 big in the team
    - matchmaking in rec games : if I play with randoms like I usually do, stop matching me with real teams with 100-1 records, match them with other teams. And match me with randoms.
    - proam : allow people to play with 3 or 4 guys again, it will make real teams leave rec center where they just annoy randoms.
    - rewarding people for playing with randoms
    - rewarding people for playing better than the rest of the team

Overall, stop asking for more and more money, microtransactions will kill the game otherwise, people are already bored with it. Don't kill the game with greed.

And please respect the player's time. When you make me type hundreds of stupid locker codes, you don't respect my time. Make it automatic with a button press.

When you make me lose 30 minutes to queue to spin a wheel, you don't respect my time. Make it instant.

I swear that this statement rings so true when I play this game in PNO. It's like...I don't hate NBA 2K19 like I did NBA 2K18. I just absolutely HATE how my opponents approach the game. These bums are so desperate for wins, but lack real stick skills that they will try to exploit EVERY single glitch or situation (pro players cherry picking their opponents) in the game to win. It's pathetic. The only thing that I might say that I "hate" about the game is how easily contested 3's go in, but bigs can't hit inside shots to save their lives.

Slow animations for no reason. invisible walls my players hit on a regular. Good defense equals auto bucket from cpu.

My issue isnt losing. Its how the cpu competes on any difficulty. Its not even close to bball.

I can see what improvements are made but the cons outweigh the pros at the moment.
Cant imagine what yall are going through online.
That sums it for me. Sadly, the game is not playable right now. I'm mostly franchise player and until they patch those cheese things, i cannot play. I even tried to go online just to justify the purchase and believe it or not, i haven't play a single online vs match as i cannot find players to play with... so, i am kinda stuck with mycareer mode which is really not my cup of tea. feels boring after a while.
As for myleague - when i'm on pro i can demolish ai and when i go all-star, ai gets supernatural...and takes me apart in every aspect of the game. And i cannot accept that i suck so much that this could be the real indicator scorewise...

So yesterday i made a decision to go back to 2k17, until i read/hear that 19 is rock solid patched. I'm sad, because 19 has great potential with all the good stuff that's done right (feel of weight on players, movement, etc..)

Re: 2k19 is a great game but it isn’t fun at all

Offline modes are the parts of the game that have been forgotten and those IMO were what really made NBA 2k the most fun.

I miss having a 50.00 game where I can play the game fully, with no VC and enjoy it until the very end. Those days are gone. I miss the best modes they used to have, like NBA Greatest Mode that was amazing on NBA 2k12. The last real good grind I enjoyed was nba 2k13 on the 360/Ps3. But my career was actually fun as heck, and no vc was required to get leveled up quickly. It was just FUN. Which the game has lost. My all time favorite mode is the Jordan Challenge on 2k11. I spent countless hours trying to be JORDAN and do his thing. And after that was the Lebron mode in 2k14 which was also a blast. Again, no VC, just a fun game modes.. Where are these fun offline modes? That's what has really changed on these new games. 2k is so hellbent on VC, they don't give us anymore fun offline modes, because IMO they're afraid it will take away from the potential of someone buying VC. Let's face it, if we had modes like a Kobe Bryant challenge focusing on all his great finishes and games over the years, yeah, people might be playing that than my career and paying 50.00 for VC. But in the end, more happy players, more happy buyers. I hate the direction sports games have gone. I'd do anything to take a time machine so we don't have to deal with this anymore.

Yeah the VC thing is wild, but what can you do.

Lets try to put a positive spin on it.

I tend to agree;I find that when I look at games I enjoy, one of the major things is pacing.

Even if a game takes 150 hours to beat, when it's paced so that the next little step on the journey, be it a level, quest, or piece of gear, is always just around the corner, I almost never get bored or frustrated because there's always something attainable for me to do; seeing and feeling progress in that way is enough to keep me engaged to do the next step and so forth, until I reach the ultimate goal of finishing the game.

Unfortunately, in their efforts to maximize profits through mtx, it feels like they've all but destroyed any semblance of solid pacing. While it might be good for take 2's wallet, in the long run I find myself more and more disinterested in the 2K series, as the game now feels more like a neverending chore than an entertaining diversion, to the point where I'll probably be passing on future 2K games in favor of concentrating on other games that are better designed to be played and enjoyed.

Re: 2k19 is a great game but it isn’t fun at all

It's true most open online communities are pretty toxic. However I think NBA 2K's has been getting worse, partly because there are more avenues for it to surface now (2K19 now allows competitor voice channels in the park? I never noticed this in 18 but have seen it a few times in 19 - it's predictably embarrassing), and partly because of what 2K are trying to do, which is clearly to create an addicted user base.

I genuinely question whether most people actually enjoy playing 2K, or are simply addicted to it. So while the earlier comment about crackheads making up most people online may be way off base, in some ways it's not entirely false - the online experience can feel a bit like a bunch of addicts roaming around, agitated, trying to get their fix but never actually finding lasting relief. Obviously a lot of online games have the same addiction problems, but 2K has taken it to the next level, celebrating people on 2K TV who openly admit to basically playing the game every waking moment. This is the community 2K have engineered and hoped to generate.

Sometimes it can take a bit of external perspective to shine a light on it. A while ago a friend unfamiliar with NBA 2K was casually watching me play while doing something else on their phone, and saw me enter the Gatorade gym. They kept watching for a few minutes and then started to burst out laughing. They couldn't understand what the hell I was doing (I was lifting weights I think), especially since I had already explained to them that it was a basketball game. I couldn't even really explain it without also laughing and shrugging (and have since realized the gym and the extra energy is pointless, but I digress). It kind of hit me then, as the perspective of my friend came to the forefront of my mind and I saw everyone else in the gym with those same eyes. This was a group of people mindlessly doing some arbitrary busy work 2K decided to include for no good reason, other than perhaps to squeeze in a paid endorsement.

I get these side games have their charms and arguably add to some sort of ideal of an immersive platform and not just a basketball game, but for whatever reason that moment just seemed ridiculous, and I could only explain it away as behaviors of addicts.

This is pretty much what I've also been noticing these last few years; mtx have fairly swiftly grown out of control to the point where I feel like I'm paying for a half complete product then get nickel and dimed to get the other half of what I already paid for.

Take 2 seems to have totally over the top with this business model; I remember reading somewhere that Take 2 is aiming to get an additional $200 in mtx out of each customer who buys one of their products.

At this point it really reminds me of years ago when I got into Magic:The Gathering with a few friends. It was fun for a year, maybe two, then I realized that it was totally oriented on keeping me spending money on packs, looking for rares/better cards/more cards I needed, replacing cards that were no longer "legal" in competitive play because they were "too many versions old" and so on.

Once I made this realization, I stopped playing and took my money to other products that were fun without trying to constantly leech me for every single dollar possible, and never looked back;at this point it won't be long before I make the same decision with 2K Sports games.
