I think my biggest frustration this year is the on ball D from the AI. It's not realistic basketball.

IRL, guys who can handle can get by their defender. It's why on ball defenders in the NBA shade the ballhandler towards the help. The issue is that help D and rotating in a realistic fashion is still a work in progress for the developers, so they over compensate by making on ball D too tough.

What should happen is the ballhandler should go by the on ball defender but then most of the time a second defender slides in front, causing the ball handler to need to make a move or pass out. THAT is realistic NBA ball, not this glue on ball D and constant bumping of my ball handler that makes 1995 NBA D seems less physical.

It sort of feels like after people complained about all the blow bys in 18, they essentially just went back to the stone wall defense that was in 17.

I agree with all you said. I see the potential of a great game but that is an issue that i’d like to see fixed.
