CHICAGO -- Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics try to bounce back from their Game 1 drobbing from the Bulls in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference 1st round.

In the first quarter, it looked like the start of Game 2 to start after a 6-0 start by the Bulls. But it would not be. The Celtics would dominate the glass, especially the offensive glass, and woudl take the lead midway 12-10. They would also hit their perimeter shots, and they would take the 1st quarter, 25-21.
In the second quarter, the Bulls second unit again outperformed the Celtics, and helped CHicago reclaim the lead. Back and forth continued between the teams and it is tied at the half, 46-46.
Jordan had 14 at the half. McHale led the Celtics with 10 pts and 10 boards.
In the 3rd quarter, Michael and Scottie picked up their play and led the Bulls on a 15-4 run and grow the lead to double digits. The Celtics continued to exert their presence inside, and after a buzzer beating 3 from Dennis Johnson, cut the lead to just 3, 72-69.
In the 4th quarter, the Celtics were able to tie the game early with a 3-pointer from Larry Bird. I back and forth ensued over the next few minutes, with the Celtics grabbing a 2 pt lead off a steal and fastbreak by Bird with 7:01 to go. After a timeout, the Bulls would regroup on defense, and went on a 12-0 run to take a 10 pt lead with 3:55 to go. Larry Bird would keep fighting, scoring 12 pts in this quarter, and helped cut the lead to 6. Again, the Bulls exection was great down the stretch, and after Jordan passed out of a double to him, Steve Kerr would hit the dagger 3 at the corner to place them back on top comfortably by 10.
Bulls go on to with 101-93 win to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
Jordan led the Bulls with 38 pts, 5 rebs 5 assts 2 stls. Pippen added 26 pts. Rodman had 14 rebs and 8 assts. Kukoc and Kerr came off the bench to score 21 pts.
Larry Bird had a solid game with 31 pts 5 rebs. McHale had 17 pts and 12 rebs.
