CHICAGO -- Larry Bird and the Boston Celtics try to bounce back from their Game 1 drobbing from the Bulls in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference 1st round.

In the first quarter, it looked like the start of Game 2 to start after a 6-0 start by the Bulls. But it would not be. The Celtics would dominate the glass, especially the offensive glass, and woudl take the lead midway 12-10. They would also hit their perimeter shots, and they would take the 1st quarter, 25-21.

In the second quarter, the Bulls second unit again outperformed the Celtics, and helped CHicago reclaim the lead. Back and forth continued between the teams and it is tied at the half, 46-46.

Jordan had 14 at the half. McHale led the Celtics with 10 pts and 10 boards.

In the 3rd quarter, Michael and Scottie picked up their play and led the Bulls on a 15-4 run and grow the lead to double digits. The Celtics continued to exert their presence inside, and after a buzzer beating 3 from Dennis Johnson, cut the lead to just 3, 72-69.

In the 4th quarter, the Celtics were able to tie the game early with a 3-pointer from Larry Bird. I back and forth ensued over the next few minutes, with the Celtics grabbing a 2 pt lead off a steal and fastbreak by Bird with 7:01 to go. After a timeout, the Bulls would regroup on defense, and went on a 12-0 run to take a 10 pt lead with 3:55 to go. Larry Bird would keep fighting, scoring 12 pts in this quarter, and helped cut the lead to 6. Again, the Bulls exection was great down the stretch, and after Jordan passed out of a double to him, Steve Kerr would hit the dagger 3 at the corner to place them back on top comfortably by 10.

Bulls go on to with 101-93 win to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

Jordan led the Bulls with 38 pts, 5 rebs 5 assts 2 stls. Pippen added 26 pts. Rodman had 14 rebs and 8 assts. Kukoc and Kerr came off the bench to score 21 pts.

Larry Bird had a solid game with 31 pts 5 rebs. McHale had 17 pts and 12 rebs.

In the first quarter, the Bulls established their defense early and Jordan got his fadeaway going. They went on a 16-6 run to get an early lead. The Celtics continued to attack the inside and despite missing their shots, were getting second chance opportunities thru the offensive glass. The Bulls lead 23-16 after one.

In the second quarter, the Celtics would fall behind by as much as 16 with strong defense and outside shooting by the Bulls. Larry Bird also could not get it going and struggled. Dennis Johnson was the most aggressive Celtic and helped them stay in the game. Still, it was an 11-point lead going into the half, 48-37.

Jordan had 20 pts at the half. McHale led the Celtics with 10 pts 9 rebs. Bird had a very disappointing first half, managing only 2 pts.

In the third quarter, the Bulls lead remained in the double digits. But in the latter half of the period, Larry Bird would start to get in his groove, scoring 10 points in the quarter, to help cut the lead to a more manageable 7 pts, 64-57, going into the 4th quarter.

The Mighty Celtics started the quarter scoring the first 6 points of the period to come to within 1. They were able to keep within striking distance, until a 12-6 run by the Bulls put them up by 9 with less than 4 mins to go. The home team was not finished though. The Celtics went on their own little 8-0 run to get to within 1 with 2 mins to go. But Jordan would connect with a jumper on the next possession to bring it back up to 3. Celtics would get multiple opportunities to get closer. But they could not connect.

With the Bulls hanging on to a 3 pt lead, Jordan found himself being guarded by McHale, and immediately took advantage. He drove to the lane and pulled up for a short jumper. He makes it and it's a 5 pt lead for the Bulls with 9 secs to go. On the next play Bird pulls up for a 3 pointer with 3.8 secs remaining, and misses.

Bulls hang on to win, 82-77, to grab a commanding 3-0 lead.

Jordan was POG. He had 33 pts 5 rebs 5 assts. Pippen added 16 pts 4 rebs 5 assts 3 stls.

Bird scored 22 of his 24 pts in the second half, but was unable to lead his team again to victory. McHale again solid with 18 pts and 16 rebs.

The first quarter was competitive early on with several lead changes. Larry Bird and Kevin McHale were aggressive early on and hitting their shots. The Bulls picked up their defense at the end causing turnovers and grabbed the upper hand, 31-25 after one Q.

Things got worse for the Celtics in the second quarter. They could not find the basket against the Bulls defense. They were held scoreless for a 6 minute span and lead ballooned to over 20. The Celtics were able to get a rally together, starting with a Bird 3, and a 4-pt swing following a flagrant foul by Dennis Rodman on Danny Ainge. They cut the lead to 11 going into the half, 51-40.

In the third quarter, Larry Bird was extra aggressive with his shooting and ball distribution. Boston followed his lead and fought their way back in the game, eventually tying the game with less than 3 mins left in the quarter, then grabbed the upper hand with 1:58 to go on a steal and fastbreak by Ainge. Back and forth ensued. Bulls hang in to the tiniest of margins 70-69 going into the 4th quarter.

Thru fourth quarter was a toughly contested one, as Boston exhibited some spirited play to keep within striking distance.

It was a tied game with 3 mins to go. Bulls execution was great, staying on top, but Celtics had Larry Bird. He cut the lead to 4 on a postup. Pippen scored on a cutting layup in the next play. Boston would quickly respond w a dunk my McHale off a sweet feed by Ainge. After Longley missed an open jumper off a Jordan double team, Celtics quickly ran down the court and Ainge would score on a layup on the break to bring Boston to within 2 with just 16 secs to go. Celtics would then intentionally foul Jordan, but he would make both FTs to make it a 4 pt game. On the next play, despite the Bulls tight D, the Celtics were able swing the ball around to Ainge who would hit a 3 to cut the lead to 1. Jordan would get fouled again, with 2.3 secs left. He makes the first FT. With the Celtics out of timeouts, he intentionally misses the second and a heave from Parish hit the back iron and the Bulls hang on to win, 97-95


POG: Michael Jordan. 39 pts 4 rebs 11 assts, 4 stls. Pippen had 23 pts 3 rebs 3 assts 2 stls 1 blk.

It was a defensive game to start, not unexpected. Spolstra's Heat and Jackson's Bulls were known great defensive

LeBron and Bosh were finding some success on both ends. Jordan and Pippen were finding opportunities to steal the ball and finish in transition. Still, none of the teams were finding their momentum offensively. It's 25-23 after one.

The second unit of Miami outplayed Chicago's to start the second quarter, and the Heat grabbed the upper hand. Both teams started hitting their shots. Bulls had a late run to go up by 3 with 10 secs to go, but Battier would hit a 3 with 4.4 secs left to tie the game.

It's 55-55 at the half.

The Bulls had a quick jump on the Heat to start the 3rd to go up by as much as 8. The Heat would however respond with their own run to tie the game again at the 4 min mark. Jordan would spark an rally towards the end scoring 12 pts in the period to help bring the Bulls to a 7 point lead going into the 4th quarter.

With Jordan on the bench to start the quarter, the Bulls 2nd unit led by Pippen and Kukoc did not disappoint. They kept the lead up, and were leading by as much as 9. The Heat would not go away easy with a run of their own. They cut the lead to just 101-100 with 3:31 to go. Jordan would respond with big plays and would hang on to a 4-pt lead with 31 secs to go. Heat won't go away, after a missed layup by Bosh, Haslem would grab the offensive rebound and lay it back in to cut the lead to 2 with 20 secs to go. They would intentionally foul Pippen on the next play and Scottie would make both FT's to give them a 4 pt cushion. On the next possession, the Heat would miss and Jordan would hit 2 more FTs to bring it up to 6. Still, James found a way to hit a 3 with 8.5 secs left to make it a one possession game. Jordan is fouled again and increases lead back up to 5. Heat was out of timeouts though and ran out of time.

Bulls would win 116-111.

Jordan: 46 pts 3 rebs 10 assts 4 stls. Pippen added 34 pts 5 rebs 3 assts 5 stls.

LeBron finished with 32 pts 6 rebs 5 assts 2 stls. Chris Bosh had the upperhand in his matchups in this game, finishing with 24 pts 19 rebs 3 stls, 2 blks. Wade added 20.

The Chicago Bulls struggle was apparent early on. They would shoot just 33% from the field in the 1st quarter while Miami was aggressive from the start, led by LeBron James, whose first field goal would be a thunderous dunk over the Bulls defense. It would be 33-22 after the first quarter.

THe Bulls, led my MJ, tried to rally in the second. But MJ did not have any support early on. He was the only Bull finding success offensively. The Heat defense was also imporved, seemed to read the Bulls plays well.

Still a 13-pt lead at the half 59-46.

Wade was having a great game offensively. Led Heat scorers at the half with 18. Jordan was all by his lonesome scoring 28.

In the 3rd quarter, LeBron James was at his finest. Scoring, rebounding, and dishing. He was smelling blood in the water, and pushed the lead to as much as 26. The home team rallied in the end while James sat on the bench and cut it to just 9 to start the 4th.

The 4th quarter was another dominant one from the Heat. Bosh and James helped them jump to another 20 pt lead. The Bulls would keep turning the ball over with the Heat defense and they would not get another chance.

Heat win. 115-97. The series is tied 1-1.

LeBron finished with 34 pts 13 rebs 10 assts 3 stls and 3 blks. It was a completely dominant perfomance that showcased why he belongs in the Mt. Rushmore of the NBA. Dwyane Wade was the top scorer with 38 pts. The Duo outperformed their counterparts in every facet this game.

Jordan had 26 pts 10 assts 4 stls. Pippen was a complete no-show, finishing with a measly 8 pts on 3/17 shooting.

The first quarter started out tight for both teams. Bosh was aggressive early on while Jordan also showed he was in it to win this game to get back home court. Jordan would score 15 first quarter pts to lead the Bulls, but Shane Battier would hit a 3 at the buzzer to bring the Heat up by 2, 27-25.

Jordan continued his hot play in the 2nd. Determined to win, he would score another 14 pts in the 2nd quarter. Pippen was also making up for his poor game 2 showing and led the second unit well in the 2nd quarter while Jordan rested. Bulls lead would grow in double digits.

Bulls lead by 11 at the half. 55-44. Jordan was leading everyone with 29 pts.

In the 3rd quarter, Jordan kept stepping on the gas and the Bulls would lead by as much as 16. Jordan was just attacking the basket with ease, including a driving dunk as the period came to a close. It's 84-73 after 3 quarters.

The Bulls would start the 4th quarter on a 14-2 run and would not look back. They stay ahead by more than 20 pts for most of the quarter. With Jordan sitting down, the Heat would cut it down to 13 only. Final dagger would be a 3-pointer by Harper with just 1:10 to go off a Jordan double team to bring the Bulls back up by 16.

Bulls win. 109-94. They get back home court to lead the series 2-1.

Jordan made sure they won this one. He finished with 54 pts 5 rebs 9 assts
Pippen added 21.

James would finish with 29 pts 10 rebs 5 assts. Ray Allen came off the bench to add 15. Wade had a poor night, finished with 12 on 6/12 shooting. Bosh did not do any better either and finsihed with 12 pts 6 rebs 4/11 shooting.

THe Heat started out cold and tight, but found some ground as the quarter went on. THe Bulls up 28-23 after one. IN the second quarter, the Bulls got into a defensive groove and grew their lead into double digits. THe Heat came back late with some outside shooting to cut the lead.

It's 55-47 for the Bulls at the half. Jordan was on his way to another 50 pt night with 26 first half points.

THe Bulls started the 3rd quarter on a 10-2 run and the Bulls were looking like they were about to run away with this game. THe home team was not quitting and showed some CHampionship mettle. THey went on a 12-0 run and kept the lead in the single digits. Jordan and James started going at it, each trying to get their teams on top. Miami made a late run which ended with a buzzerbeating 3-pointer from Rashard Lewis that would give the Heat a 2 pt lead going into the final quarter, 81-79.

After scoring on the first possession of the 4th quarter to tie the game, Jordan would commit his 5th foul and had to sit down. Pippen came in to try to hold off the Heat, but Bosh and Wade would step up and they would lead by as much as 9 pts. Jordan had to come back in and was able to rally the Bulls back into the game. They limited the Heat scoreless in a 3 minute span, and pulled to within one. The Bulls would finally pull ahead by one on a dunk by Jordan with less than 3 mins to go.

It would be a tense last 2 minutes. Wade would break the tie with a fastbreak layup after a LeBron James steal. It would remain a 2 pt lead for the Heat with just 30 secs to go. The Bulls had possession and it seemed the Heat defense was able break the Bulls play. Jordan, however, would find a rolling Longley on a pick and roll, and Longley would hit the layup with 28.6 secs remaining.

Both teams would have a chance to win the game on their final possessions. Jordan had 5.7 secs to win it but his jumper rolled out! And left 0.7 secs on the clock. On the Heat's next inbounds play, the Bulls covered James and Wade nicely. It was Chris Bosh who was able to break free from the bigger, slower Longley and hit a miracle shot from the left wing to win the game for the Heat 104-102.

Wade was the leading scorer for the Heat with 24 pts. He added 7 rebs 8 assts 3 stls 2 blks. LeBron shot 9/20 finished with 20 pts 6 rebs 6 assts. Chris Bosh was the hero and player of the game. He finished with with 16 pts, 19 rebs (10 offensive), 3 assts, 4 stls and 4 blks.

Miami overcame another 50pt game from Michael Jordan. He had 54 pts 4 rebs 7 assts 3 stls. Pippen added 30-4-4. Rodman had a double-double with 14 rebs, 10 assts.

Series heads back to Chicago for an all-important Game 5. Its now down to a best of 3.

It was a game i played against the great Larry Bird and the Celtics. He got the best of me this time around, and he had a great solid game.

The Bulls started out with perfect execution hitting their first 5 shots. THey would lead by as much as 12 in the quarter. The Heat though started picking up their defense, causing turnovers and going on an 11-4 run to end the quarter, with Shane Battier scoring 8 of those off the bench. It's 33-28 after one.

THe Heat's momentum from the end of the 1st spilled into the start of the 2nd quarter. Lebron James was firing on all cylinders. He would score 13 points in the quarter to forge the Heat ahead by as much as 8 early on. THis included a huge dunk of 7-ft Luc Longley after a botched Pip-MJ alley-oop. Jordan would lead the Bulls back and they went on their own 10-0 run to reclaim the lead with 4mins to go. THey would outscore the Heat in the last 4 mins 20-5 and go into the half up 59-52.

Jordan was hooping. He was already averaging 50ppg in this series. He already had 31 at the half. LeBron led the Heat with 19.

The 3rd quarter would start out as competitive but would quickly become a Michael Jordan highlight reel. He was in video game mode. He would have 5 dunks in this period, including a FT-line dunk off a steal. He was 6/6 form the field and had 14 pts in the period. Bulls firmly ahead 87-75 going into the 4th.

Pippen would pick up from where Jordan left off. He would score 8 straight points to increase their lead up to the 20. They looked like they were just about running away with this game until the Heat went on a furious rally. They would go a 25-8 run and was only down 4 with 1:49 to go. Michael would have none of it, however, and would close out the game by scoring 4 pts and assisting on another, and the Bulls would hang on to win it, 112-104.

Jordan wanted this one. He finished with 51 pts 4 rebs 9 assts with 3 stls. Pippen added 28 pts. Rodman had a double-double with 10 pts 11 rebs.

LeBron finished with 33 pts 3 rebs 5 assts. Wade added 30 pts of his own. Bosh 12 pts 11 rebs.

It was a dominant defensive game for the Bulls, who led by as much as 18. They kept the Heat shooting at 38% clip in the first half (44% overall) to set the tone early.

Oddly, James did not show up like a man on a mission here. He had a quiet 17 pts. It was Wade who had more fight in this game, leading the Heat with 27.

The 2008 Boston Celtics are making an improbable run in this playoffs. THey defeated the '16 Cavs in the first round, and then the '93 Bulls in the Eastern Semifinals. Can their fairy tale run continue?

The first quarter started out as a defensive one, not unexpected in a game between two teams that won their titles with Defense. Execution was key, and while the Bulls held the Celtics to 33% shooting in the 1st, they committed more turnovers and gave away 5 pts off TO's. It is the Bulls 24-23 after one.

In the second quarter, things were pretty much even. The Celtics bench, led by Sam Cassell and James Posey, were outplaying their Bulls counterparts, and Paul Pierce started connecting. THe Celtics would forge ahead but only by as much as 4. Jordan then helped the Bulls finish strong. It's still just a 1-pt lead going into the half. 47-46.

Jordan was leading the way as usual with 19. Paul Pierce led the Cletics with 13 pts.

In the 3rd quarter, the Bulls defense held it down and the Celtics just could not get anything going. Boston only shot 32% from the field. Bulls pull ahead 70-63 after the 3rd period. THe Celtics continued to struggle in the 4th, as the lead grew into the double digits. The Bulls limited them to 15 4th quarter points.

THe Bulls run away in the second half and take first blood in this series. THey win 92-78.

POG: Michael Jordan. 37 pts 3 rebs 8 assts 2 stls. Pippen had 20 pts and strong work on the board with 12 rebs. Rodman pulled down 19 rebs.

Pierce had a poor second half, finishing the game with just 16 pts. Allen added 14. Kevin Garnett managed only 10 pts on 4/17 shooting, possibly bothered by Rodman's D.

First quarter was quite typical. Bulls defense kept the Celtics offense down, led by as much as 10. THey end the quarter up 25-19.

In the second quarter, it was the Bulls who went cold. Celtics defense held them to just 2 pts in the first 6 minutes and would claim the lead. After a quick timeout after Pierce knocked down a 3 to increase the Celtics lead to 5, the Bulls would regroup and shut down Boston over the next 5 minutes to regain the lead. They would go into the half up by 7, 49-42.

Jordan was cooking. He already had 24 pts at the half.

In the 3rd quarter, the Bulls started to pull away and led by as much as 13 early on. However, Boston would go on an 8-0 run, after 3's by Pierce and Ray Allen, to pull to within 5. THe Bulls would respond on the other end would go up again by 9 led by MJ. Celtics would not let it slip quote yet though, and Garnett got good inside looks, and they cut the lead to 3 going into the 4th, 71-68.

The fourth quarter went pretty much the same way as in Game 1. THe Bulls locked the Celtics down, causing turnovers, leading to the fastbreak. The Celtics were forced into 29% FG shooting (6/21). The Bulls would score 10 pts off the break, and literally ran away with the win here.

Bulls trample on the Celtics in the 4th quarter to win, 103-84.

Jordan led the way with 44 pts 6 rebs 6 assts 2 stls. Pippen added 24 pts, with 4 stls and 3 blks. Rodman had another field day with 20 rebounds.

Pierce had 20 for the Celtics, while Ray Allen had 15. Garnett conitnued to struggle, shooting 6/14 to finish with 14 pts, 12 rebs.
