Re: Mike Wang tweets about 2K20
How on earth is another players' presence on the court supposed to stop me from being able to do things that are signature to my player?
if i am being chased down by a lockdown i should worry about my floater getting blocked, not that i will miss it because my guy doesn't remember how to do floaters.Comment

why should my badge be nullified?

Nobody can stop you from doing what you want to do no matter how bad of a decision it might be.
You should worry more about why you are going for floater with a clear path to the basked while being chased by a LDD.....Comment

Defensive stopper and rim protector drop ratings and badges.

the whole point I was making was that the fact badges drop my ratings and badges makes ZERO sense.
I used the floater as an example to show you how badly the badges actually work - not saying that I regularly go for floaters on the fast break, especially with a LDD behind me.
How about the more realistic example of:
being in the paint and trying to go for a dunk on a sharpshooter, but because a LDD is on the court, you go for a slow weak layup that gets blocked or misses.
Try and justify how a badge should affect a players ability to do routine, smart basketball plays when the defender with the actual badge isn't even directly involved in the play.
I'll wait.Comment

Re: Mike Wang tweets about 2K20
Now that you have to give up space on drives or get blown bye, they have to bring 3 point shooting on open shots to below 50 percent on great shooters.
Otherwise what is the point of making the dribbler/on ball defender interaction realistic.Psn: Alabamarob

I've always maintained that badges should not have more an affect than a rating, and should actually work more like tendencies do for CPU players when specifically applied to MyPlayers.
Way to go with the assumptions.

Sure I understand that most people will nail a wide open jumper, but theres a difference from wide open in the corner vs wide open 35 feet away from the hoop.
The way the game is tuned now, the 35 foot 3 pointer with limitless range gold is a better shot than a wide open catch and shoot midrange shot with no badges.
(both mid and 3pt have 80 rating in this instance)
Herein lies the issue.
A few badges I've seen already that have me super concerned:
'limitless energy dribbling'
'unstealable handles'
'jump/block spam'
'make up for poor user timing'
'make bad contested shots like good open ones'
you add these to badges that literally nullify yours + ratings.. and you have a fundamentally flawed system that tries to please everyone, but will only end up pleasing cheesers and people with no basketball IQ, and fostering the already toxic attitudes found in online team up modes.Comment

Nope, its a joke to me that people are shooting 90% from half court.

And this is where I lose my faith in 2k a lil... its just gonna be a cheese fest coz the badges don't enhance user input, but make up for/excuse poor user input.

I agree with everything you said. There has been a myriad of fallacious arguments used against you all because "the offense is too OP", which it is btw. We all know shooting is a joke and ridiculous. Everyone complains about that on this forum too, me included. But imo the answer isnt more unrealistic badges, but to them i guess its a balance mechanic, realism be damned.PSN: UVE_HAD_ENOUGHComment

Re: Mike Wang tweets about 2K20
You got the nerves to quote SPG in the NBA, but people are shooting 50+% from 3PT land despite the highest career 3PT% is 42.3?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...coring_leaders
here we go again mischaracterizing what i said...did i even mention shooting in this post? i dont believe i did.
in my previous posts about shooting ive said that greens are far too frequent. my arguments are largely targeted towards non shooting builds because they shouldnt be able to make those shots period, let alone consistently enough to win.
ive never addressed shooting with actual shooting builds because its very rare that ive had trouble with them. if i leave a shooter open i expect them to hit and i say my bad and go back down on the other end. regardless, if i keep giving up those shots im expecting to lose.
most of these ppl complaining about shooters shooting too high a percentage simply dont play good defense. common sense tells me pure sharps are slow, and cant dribble. so i usually full court press them (mostly in park) and get some bump animations (very key) to drain their energy with my bronze bruiser. clamps. and if they come off a screen i only ask that my teammate show hard until i can recover, or outright switch if the matchups dictate. if they hit a 3 off a screen i blame OUR team for miscommunication, because thats usually what it really is.
i play with a post shot creator sg 6’6, max arm length. i rarely have had trouble with playing defense on shooting builds, my eyes light up when i see them actually because i know im locking up. yea theyll make a few, but not efficiently enough to win; taller stretch 4s also pose an issue but its rare that im matched up with them.
shooting percentages taken into consideration or not, i expect to get hit if i leave a shooter open, so thats why i havent complained about them. along with the fact that i can play sound defense with a non defender only equipped with bronze bruiser/max arm length and limit them enough to win.
from time to time you get those pure sharps hitting moving and/or drifting 3s, and thats the only thing i would have a complaint about because pure sharps were meant to be standstill shooters. there is no build that should be able to consistently shoot moving/drifting 3s, period. nobody, not even steph comes down shooting moving/drifting 3s as a primary plan of attack. he may hit a few in the course of the gameplan (usually its when hes hot already) coming off screens and such, but its usually slight and certainly not ideal/intentional. thats bad basketball and shouldnt be rewarded.
youll find that i have no arguments against things that SHOULD occur based on situation, build, or real life comparison. i take full responsibility of what i should/could be better at, i dont blame the game/users unless its an exploit or cheese.

Re: Mike Wang tweets about 2K20
The main problem is people suck at playing defense. They either rely on the cpu to defend the ball handler or they get tired of doing the work to defend the ball handler themselves. When they actually have to defend, they have the responsibility of making decisions which exposed their bball IQ. THAT is the main point I've always stressed. Most of y'all don't know anything about that when it comes to bball IQ. Y'all just want people to miss shots all game with bad defense. Nah, it doesn't work like that and that's why Mike Wang has never allowed that in comp settings.Comment

Some people do know how to play defense, but it's a shame when we don't get rewarded for a well-timed steal attempted, because the hand goes through the ball. It's a shame when we don't get rewarded for a block, because the ball just falls right back into the offensive player's hands. It's a shame when we don't get rewarded for a poked ball, because the ball just ends up with the offensive team 90% of the time. It's a shame when don't get rewarded for forcing a player into a bad shot attempt with smothered contest, because they got rewarded with a green release and who knows how many badges were activated at the time.Comment

your rant is eerily similar to what some defensive specialist in the nba say as well as the rules favour offense over there.Comment
