Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
After trying and failing to make a SF build I actually like, I ending up making a 6’5 PG with an emphasis on shooting and defense. It’s easily the most complete build I’ve been able to make. He’s an absolute animal on defense with HOF clamps, intimidator, and pick dodger badges. He can shoot, and his playmaking skills are serviceable too (enough so to get a few decent playmaking badges). And he’s FAST. Like really fast.
Can’t wait to equip my own animations.Comment

Closest thing is probably the PF with the pie chart mostly shooting(green) and playmaking(yellow).Comment

I think as the game of basketball itself becomes more diverse, restricting our builds makes less sense.
You got guys like Embiid, Towns, and Jokic at the center who can play like forwards and shoot..now I get that they're the top tier but still, if embiid is a 95 overall and my center is a 99...but I'm slower, less athletic, a much worse shooter, and worse on D...how does that even work?
I dont mind shorter guards getting better badges, better ratings...better everything...but you cant penalize height so much.
See more and more players 6'8 and taller playing with advanced skillsets in the league...so I'm just saying it's like 2k is trying to balance to a 2k standard not whats actually trending in the real league.

I want to look in the mirror and say I did it my way.

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
Made a few different PG builds but once I made a 6’4 PG/Slashing Playmaker I struck gold. Every build I made was a slashing playmaker but I wasn’t really going for that lol I kinda wanted more shot creating playmaker. My build still has a decent mid range and three ball though, and at 6’4 I get an 80 overall dunk rating while still being able to have 95 speed and acceleration. And I can post up.
Custom pie charts would allow me to truly have the perfect player for me as I’d sacrifice some defense for a little bit more shooting.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
Big men
Blue = Post scorers, athletics
Red = Defenders, rebounders
Green= stretch bigs
Yellow = playmaking/post
pure post scoring i would take the very first one on the skill pie chart.. the one fully covered in blue...maxium post hook 95, close shot 95, standing dunk 95, post moves 92.
i didnt like anything with post scoring though they are way to slow and this game already is not kind to big men speed wise.
Reb/stretch 6'11 or 7ft power forward was a good build too... alot of defensive/reb badges with alot of shooting badges... if you make it correct. this is the build ill end up making most likely. still working on how i want to adjust my badges though. i feel this player is good for both park and pro-am.
^ to get this build go for where you see half red half blue on the pie chart
Pure reb glass 7ft was nice.. i ended up with 16 athletic badges because i also upgraded my athletic.. their was really no way around it.
as far as the import badges id want my glass to have on HOF i did box, rebound chaser, worm, and brickwalll.. i guess you can put moving trucks on HOF if you really want to but i sacrificed that so i can put clamps on bronze.. yes even bronze clamps makes a difference and helps you become more mobile while guarding the perimeter... id recommend all builds to get this move.. if you ever have to switch onto a guard it can come in handy
i probably had most fun on this build to be honest.. you can do the badges however you want i didnt really go hard at the defensive badges since its more of a glass cleaner but i definitely did get my Post lockdown badge to gold and intimidator to gold... i was considered getting rim protector gold too but i bailed to make him more versatile and got some other badges on bronze
^ to make this build go to very bottom where the pie chart is covered in redLast edited by nyk_fatboy; 08-22-2019, 03:25 PM.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
I'm thinking I'll go with a play sharp PG.
If I do make a big man it'll be just for the park and it'll probably be just all defense and finishing.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
I play with a guy who usually always makes an inside big(one who cant shoot), so on my team they rely on me to spread the floor with my big man build. It doesn't look so easy to do this year unless I go to a stretch.....Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
Since I most likely can't my ideal build in MyCareer. I might just do a simple big man build. I might just make a undersized Defensive Rim Runner Center. I either will make a defensive rebounder specialist or a defensive finisher. I just want a good number of defensive and rebounding badges.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
everything else is pretty trash..inside will suck, post will suck. Its basically a reb/stretch with defense.Last edited by nyk_fatboy; 08-22-2019, 03:42 PM.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
This will be huge to whether we can really praise the MyPlayer Builder.
Obvs its a great tool and way better than the archetype system before, but the fact that handles are locked until you reach 94/95 felt cheap as I was assuming I'd never get there (I've only ever got to 93 last 2 2ks)
I think I'll sesh PNO and rack up VC until thats clarified before settling on a build to get up there.
Best build I made was a 6'5 PG, as all my SF/PF finisher builds were super nerfed...
If this is the case I'm definitely waiting. It is mad how limited your badge choices are just from being a little bit taller. You get like 10 or 15 less badges just for being a SF/PF/C but still have to pour in the same amount of VC for them to be levelled up.
Thats literally the build I was looking to make lol, care to share?
I could slash great at 6'7 but shooting was *** and slashing at 6'9 was fine until the 2nd half where I got stripped in the paint and clamped up on. Limits on shooting meant I had no plan B (or at least just with default moves and shot animation)
