I didn't even think there would be a restriction on how many times you could try a build. I'm not really into building multiple builds I generally just work on one and stick with it and I like this one so I don't see much point in building another.

I don't buy the VC either. I enjoy the grind. I tested this build out on 60 just to see what he would feel like at the start but I had full intentions to try him out at different overalls before the game launched but I can't.

I enjoy the grind. I just would prefer to start out at 70 instead of 60 OVR. I might play another mode to gain more VC to start.
I'm okay with the pie chart skill. I just make the same build a few times just to change things around and test at different OVRs. I finally started created player. So far I'm a 2 Way Sharpshooter. But I'm stuck on badge screen. I tried to balance out the badges for each skill. But already thinking I didn't need as many Finishing and Playmaking badge points. I realized that I don't need those skills with gold badges. I'm okay with having 15 Shooting badge points. But I rather have more Defensive badge points. I can already see me gaining 5-6 more badge points for Defense by decreasing other skills.

I havent been able to play yet. But I have a question:

When you set your attributes after you select your pie chart, are those your set max caps? So if you decide not to touch rebounding, will that 30s rebounding be your max cap?

I like your defender/finisher. If your defender teammate gets some 3 pt shooting in his build I wouldn't worry too much about shooting - if anything put just enough in middies and get catch and shoot, and get the rest of your points into finishing and defending. Your role is to be big, so be big.

Thanks man! My 19 guy was a rebounding athletic... I just wanted to get a little bit of a midrange shot. But apparently it is impossible to be a real big man who can rebound and also be able to shoot anything but a layup

I was worried that bigs and SF were going to be OP. Its about damn time that taller builds are severely penalized. What bigs can dunk, defend, shoot, and rebound?

A big SHOULD be one dimensional with a slight increase to secondary.

If you go post you shouldnt be able to defend or rebound as well. If you go defense you shouldnt be able to rebound very well.

I'm sure they will tick up the versatility before release, but I'm hoping not too much.

Shorter players should be more diverse.

What is everyone's thoughts on strength vs vertical?

Context: I'm building an athletic, playmaking PG and am deciding between two physical profiles. The first has 92 speed, 92 acc, 59 strength, 94 vertical. The second has 92 speed, 92 acc, 80 strength, 66 vertical (or something like that).

I can't determine which is better for me. I know that the strength will help significanty with on-ball defense and not getting bullied when I have the rock. But the vert will help with finishing, steals, and helping on the boards.

I told you what, elite guards.

So I have no problem in not being able to replicate elite wings and bigs as long as the same goes for guards.

7 HoF shooting badges, 5 gold pm badges and 3 gold D badges, that could be split for 4 silver and 1 bronze

I didn't care for my build that I was set on. My 2 Way Sharp SG felt so sluggish at 88 speed and 80 Lat Quickness. Unless you make defensive specialist or very short player, your Lat Quick takes a hit. It feels like Last the main difference is possibility of higher badges.
So I might try that build at PG. I want to be a lot quicker on defense.

I do want to do a MyCareer, but I'm leaning towards ML Player Lock. Yes there is a lot more customization and I do like the MyPlayer builder. I just feel like I still can't make the build I want to create. So I might start a ML Player Lock first and build up VC. Then after a while, I'll do a MyCareer probably early next year.

The hate on twitter and reddit is hilarious. Everyone overreacting off of an unfinished demo build acting like this is the final game.

We can tweak badges throughout the entire grind. Literally the most important part of a myplayer and they gave us freedom

BUT

as an offline player, I'm disappointed that we're still limited in the sense that our 99 (or 95) myplayer will not be a real 99 or 95 myplayer compared to real NBA player

I guess this is the next step they'll need to adress...

If one person can make a Jordan/Kobe/Shaq/Giannis/KD build, guess what? EVERYONE is going to make them, and after a month or so of every single myplayer being a demigod, it's going to get very boring very fast with defense being next to impossible, and 2K will see thousands of people quitting the game before thanksgiving.


I really get a good laugh when i see anyone complain that they can't make a lebron build, as if it would be such an advantage if it were possible. You really think no one else would try the exact same thing?


I'm sure that would be such an awesome feeling, building a lebron type player and walking into your first park game thinking you have some major advantage, only to be matched up against 3 other lebrons....

It's goofy when people want online myplayers to be demigods, but did you miss the part about him being an offline gamer? I get that there's myleague and playerlock, but it really wouldn't kill 2k to have an offline career mode with unlocked caps where you can actually build a GOAT candidate type player. You just wouldn't be able to bring him online. This used to be a thing last gen before park really took over, and it was lots of fun.
