Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
(Adding more detail than how I originally posted it, I like how NYK did his).
6'7 SG/SF. Body type, optimizing for speed. Will take a look at how the "balanced" plays out.
Playmaking - Primary
Passing - maxed out (Dimer, needle threader = HOF or gold)
Dribbling - Above average (want Quick first step = gold, other dribbling badges = silver)
Want to be able to get where I want to on the court and control the offense to set up teammates. Height hopefully lets me grab rebounds and get the team out running, so break starter/OMFB are necessities.
Defensive - secondary slightly ahead of shooting/slashing
Defensively, i want to be switchable, but focus would be on perimeter D.
Clamps = gold
Interceptor/pick pocket = silver
Chase down = silver (or some other block badge. Want to be able to duck down and get 1 or 2)
Ideally, also get my rebounding to a decent level, so i get the ball off the rim and start the break. That also means...
OMFB = gold/silver
break starter = silver/bronze
Slashing/Shooting - tied tertiary
Finishing at the rim would be my preferred method of scoring. Beating my man one on one, then making the decision between drive all the way or dish out. Would also like to be able to pull-up reliably, so i'm not one dimensional. Lastly, not a full liability on the 3-pt line.
Posterizor/relentless/contact = gold preferrred, but silver is acceptable.
Difficult shots = silver
Catch+shoot = silver
Gameplay
In "mycareer" games, I want to be able to do it all. On offense, i'm the primary ball handler, running the show and racking up assists, but finishing at the rim with ease and hitting the J if they leave me open. Defensively, pestering the other team. A 30-15-10 guy.
In "park" games, i'm ideally in the 1st or 2nd slot. Trying to drive and kick to my shooters, or if there isn't a big man, finish at the hole.
In my "proam" team, glue guy. Put me where i'm needed 1-3 and i'll fill the role. Secondary ball handler, secondary defender, chips in scoring. Whatever.NBA: Wizards

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
been thinking over what i really want
Defensive -primary
Interior defense - maxed
Perimeter defense - maxed
lateral quickness - maxed
Steals -close to maxed.. maybe minus 5 from the max
blocks- close to maxed.. maybe minus 5 from the max (i usually go straight up with my hands anyway (interior defense i rather have maxed)
____________________
Rebounding- im aiming for a 75-80ish off/Def rebound i want enough rebound that i can get at least gold hustle rebound or whatever the badge is called now lol
Strength- same as 2k19 --- 75ish
vertical - maxed
_________________________
Shooting
midrange around a 60
3 pointer -- im trying to get it to a 65ish if i can get it higher cool if not cool
____________________________________________
Everything else balanced out the best way possible.. what i basically did here with the build was upgrade the things in my primary defense to max level that i feel would be most important then other things that are still related to my primary defense i upgraded but not fully maxed.. this way i can distribute more points elsewhere in another category
this is kind of how i will approach the builder. but definitely cant wait until Wednesday to tweak stuff
Primary Defense
-Perimeter Defense-Maxed
-Lat Quickness - Maxed
Steals - Mid 80
Secondary Shooting
-Open 3pt Maxed
-Open Mid Range Low to Mid 80s
-Free Throw- Low to Mid 80s
Third Finishing
-Driving Dunk high as I can get it
-Close Shot high as I can get it.
Fourth Playmaking
Ball Control high as I can get it.
I'm want to be an athletic 3 & D wing. I am willing to sacrifice on interior defense, block, and rebounding for high perimeter D ratings. I won't touch Post ratings so I can get decent shooting ratings. I don't want to be a shot creator. Mostly want to shoot off of open looks and off ball screens. I just want to be able to dunk and make easy shots around rim. I don't care about Playmaking. I just want Ball Control as I high as I can get it so I don't get ripped when I don't shoot right awayLast edited by illwill10; 08-20-2019, 10:07 AM.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
I know I'm going to regret it.
Ive said all along i want that do it all, big SF.
But if I can TRULY build the PG I've wanted since 2k16, its going to be very hard to resist
6'3-6'4 PG with enough athleticism to body someone 1 on 1. Whatever the threshold for contact dunks, I will hit that and no further. So if its 85 driving dunk like it was in 19 ill hit that mark and go no higher. This way I can spend other points in shooting, defense, and ball handling.
Im thinking with 70 shooting, 80 finishing, 70s defense, the kicker will be what my potential ball handling handling could he. If this enables me to be very quick off the dribble, as in a John Wall or Westbrook type player, with middling shooting ratings then im going to be a real problem. The problem with all the guards ive made, the last few years was i could get the finishing, but always lacked on shooting and ball handling.
If i can feel like prime D-Rose, everyone better watch out.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
Lurking (mainly a PNO player, but I keep tabs on this thread when I'm ready to jump into MyPark)...
From everyone's past experience. Would it better to have 3-5 HOF badges or multiple gold/silver badges? I can't imagine anyone wanting any bronze badges.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
This has surely been answered somewhere in this thread, but I got tired of digging.
Just a question about the demo i nrelation to the builds, are we only allowed to make one guy this year? I remember seeing that we can experiment with our guy by trying them out at certain levels. Is that in the demo and can we go back to the start of the creation to try different builds?
If we can, I feel like I'll spend 15 hours trying builds lol.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
Since Deron Williams prime I’ve wanted to make a similar build to him since I’m also a more stocky guy in real life but I usually play some form of point guard. So that’s what I’m going for this year. Gotta be balanced as a scorer passer and finisher and have some good speed especially with ball.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
HOF coz with the power of lockdowns those silvers get erased and then you don't have any badges.Comment

In 2k18 I saw a notable difference before and after getting bronze chasedown.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
i was chasing people down without the badge and it just didn't register the badge progress, then they dropped a patch and i got that badge real quick. it did unlock way more animations for chasedowns tho you are right about that.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
Even though, I don't plan on being a dribbler, I definitely want Bronze Unpluckable. If it can reduce the amount of turnovers I commit, then it is worth it. There are a few bronze badges I want for my non-primary skilsComment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
Would yall like it if badge cost was set 1,2,3,4 or would yall like it if badge cost stacked to 1,3,5,10?
Hopefully it's the first option

Fairly certain I saw some of the youtubers (Pinky?) say that it was the former.NBA: Wizards
