Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.

Anyway my guess is that 2k20 myplayers will be similar to 2k19 ones as a whole (eg total number of badges and level, attributes levels) with the only main difference that we will be free to decide how allocate them.

Basically 2k put in the game the "editor" the devs used for creating 2k18-2k19 archetypes allowing us to use it for creating our own player.

I'm not sure the number of badges will be similar, for context the MyTeam card in 2K19 with the most badges (including personality badges) had 43, its been said that the total number of badges is about 80.
What it looks like they've done is split up some badges from 2K19, like Defensive Stopper into Clamps and Post Lockdown.
The other interesting things i saw in the Twitter screenshot of a PG that looked like a Playmaking Slasher was that Post Hook was in Driving and Finishing whereas Post Fade was in Shooting, Rebounding is in with Defense and Contact Dunk rating seems to be gone.

But at same time, if the badge cost doesn't stack, then some some builds could be totally OP. There was a pic that showed a build having 60 badge points. The way how it was so spread out amongst skills, that build could potentially have 13 HOF badges and up 7 other badges if they choose to go top heavy with badges. That build would be beyond OP, so it does bring doubt
But we won't know fully until the Demo drops.
Yeah that's what makes me not sure the prices will stack up. My guess is that the amounts of badge points we've seen so far is the starting amount, with more unlocking as the ratings/overall go up.

As far as I can tell, the badge points doesn't stack. It's 4 points for hof, 3 for gold, etc. And that's a way better system than stacking the points. Do you want to go top heavy with all hof? Go jack of all trades with all bronze badges?

That does make sense. If not, some builds will be at a serious disadvantage based on points. If one build can get up 60 badge points and one gets Thirty something, then if badge points stack they would be big difference in number of badges.

Me personally, I will mix it up. I don't want to go Top Heavy because I might not want to grind for a lot of HOF badges. But do not want to go jack of all trades with all bronze badges. You will be able to a little of everything with 35-60 badges, but not a master of anything. With that you would really have to be comfortable with your ratings. So, I will go a little of a mixture. I might only go 2-4 total HOF badges. I want a balance of solid badges.

There's a picture with the Four badge skill icons. The total number for each skills equals 60. And I seen other info that they said one build had 46 points and had 38. If I can find it, I'll post it. The build with 60 badge points, is most likely a guard/wing with a Slashing, Playmaking, and Shooting skill set. Because there are a lot of those badges

I'm leaning towards a Donovan Mitchell/Kawhi Leonard hybrid. 6'6" or so and long. A 2 way kind of player who can score at all 3 levels with consistency but defend with the best of them.

If badge points don't stack, this means that you can have 60:4=15 HOF badges in total.

It seems a little too much to me, and not a lot realistic at all.

Technically I think it would be 14 since the badge points are split up. 5 for blue and orange, 3 for green and 1 for red.

I was thinking it would stack as well, so a HOF badge would actually cost 10 points (1+2+3+4), but devil's advocate: With the way they've split up so many badges this year, it would make sense that the number of badges you can get would increase. Like 10 HOF badges in 2k20 might be roughly the equivalent of 6 in 2k19, since for example, Defensive Stopper is split up into multiple badges now.

Yes you right, thay split some badges but I see that a way to differentiate players/builds between them rather than a way to "inflate" the number of badges.

Also because some very powerful badges (eg dimer) are still the same.

I see your point about having more badges in total, just still not sold on someone putting barely anything in defense and being able to afford HoF pickpocket or whatever it's called this year.

been thinking over what i really want

                            Defensive -primary

                            Interior defense - maxed
                            Perimeter defense - maxed
                            lateral quickness - maxed

Steals -close to maxed.. maybe minus 5 from the max

blocks- close to maxed.. maybe minus 5 from the max (i usually go straight up with my hands anyway (interior defense i rather have maxed)

                            ____________________

Rebounding- im aiming for a 75-80ish off/Def rebound i want enough rebound that i can get at least gold hustle rebound or whatever the badge is called now lol

                            Strength- same as 2k19 --- 75ish

                            vertical - maxed
                            _________________________

                            Shooting

                            midrange around a 60

3 pointer -- im trying to get it to a 65ish if i can get it higher cool if not cool

                            ____________________________________________

Everything else balanced out the best way possible.. what i basically did here with the build was upgrade the things in my primary defense to max level that i feel would be most important then other things that are still related to my primary defense i upgraded but not fully maxed.. this way i can distribute more points elsewhere in another category

this is kind of how i will approach the builder. but definitely cant wait until Wednesday to tweak stuff

I’m really worried about the post game. Seems like its spread out over 3 of the 4 categories.

You need shooting for the fades
You need finishing for the hooks/
You need playmaking for post control

Seems like the only playstyle that’s spread out this much

Ok this is my question: they said you can try out your myplayer at any overall from 60 to 99 before closing the building process....BUT ... it means that we will be able to select and raise the attributes for each ovr we try OR they will be automatically "flat" raised once we choose the ovr to try?

AND we will be able to try different combination of attributes for a given ovr?

                                Any idea?

Edit: clearly my question goes for ovr below 99
