Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.

I'm enjoying my Slashing Playmaker 6'5 PG at 188LBs. I had a 2 way playmaker, but the Gold finishing badges just didn't do much. With HOF badges I'm noticing much more animations triggering. Like, it's night and day. I still have a problem holding down on the right stick trying to catch bodies tho. For some reason it feels like the weakest way to get contacts. Finishing with either hand on the stick or even just square tends to get better results. Also, with a 64 three and only Quick Draw Bronze I'm hitting a respectable amount in Rec. I've been getting a lot of assists online with HOF dimer as well.

One thing I've noticed tho. I get more bump steals and interceptions with a lower rating (70) than i did at almost 90. Also, the Gold perimeter badges seem better as well. How any of this makes sense to 2k is beyond me. My 2 way slashing playmaker gets hung on screens and hardly ever gets steals, but this new guy with less weight, less ratings is the better defender?

What's even crazier is my lateral, perimeter defense and speed ratings are also lower but i feel i can go body to body better.

need more people like this. people worry too much about badge points and OP builds not what suits their game.

Yeah, i looked at the pure playmaking pie chart at all 5 positions. It's great if you want to be decent at everything but good at nothing. Typically i can get away with a build like that. Only thing tho is the defense ratings were in the 60s at 6'9. That doesn't work for me. My 6'7 SF is already a do it all player and is a monster at the 4.

Any suggestions on the best playstyle for a Paul ‘The Truth’ Pierce SG/SF build? Became interested after learning of his career on the recent podcast featuring Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes.

          Shooting
Can finish a bit, but not known for athleticism
          Extremely clutch
Unfortunately, I've been running into some (not very often yet) full squads of 5 right at the 92 OVR. I've seen elites and SS3 players running with what LOOK like rookies and pros, but I'm sure just made new accounts to reset their records.

This new matchmaking can be good, but more and more players will start resetting their characters to get lesser competition. I, myself, am not upgrading any more characters over 92 either. You can generally get all your offensive stats filled up with a little left on your defense. Or, if you're a defensive build do the reverse.

As for the build, a lot of players like the 6'9 green/red pie chart to make a "rebounding wing" or a "3 level scorer". To mimic Paul Pierce you would probably want a heavier 6'7 shooting/playmaking (green/gold) pie chart. Invest heavily in post scoring and shooting with enough finishing and defense to be solid. I would recommend the shooting or shot creator takeover. It's a little bit more difficult to get post moves off on the midrange, but in Career a nice turn around fade should be money. If you're looking to take people off the dribble, you're better off making a SG than a SF for increased playmaking. With HOF badges getting to a 70 ball handling should get you the Pro dribbles so you can iso a bit with Quick First Step.

Leaners aren't that great online this year and spin jumpers are terrible. But stepback jumpers tend to go in with a decent rating/animation Combo. I wish you could be a more off the dribble threat this year, that was a huge part of my game the last few years. But alas the 3 is still king.

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.

Just made a Pure Gold pie chart PF. He's actually pretty solid. Get a 70 ball control (fake) all HOF playmaking badges. I get a 70 three, 70 finishing 80 post moves. My rebounding will go to an 80, i get 8 defensive badges so I'll do rebound chaser, rim protector gold and box bronze.

Already played enough rec games to get Gold Quick First step, i get it HOF and i have the Pro dribbles on a 6'9 character. My jumper is obviously garbage right now but have greened a few of them. Need to work on my midrange so I'll get more opportunities to shoot. He's only a low 80 right now but he's fun.

I'm done making builds now lol.

Finally finished maxing my PG, and he's at a 96. Time to max out my Interior Force C.

I turned back to my 2nd build of this years game, my 6’5 scoring machine.

At 97 overal he’s got 84 shooting and all contact dunks.
                Hof finishing and shooting.

                Solid post moves

Only downside are defensive badges. I play solid d on the perimeter but inside defence is hard.

Its my fav build honestly, but maintaining that 97 overall while playing with randoms is just so damn hard.
And I hate to lose my contact dunks lol

What positions are typically high-demand in the Rec? I know there are PGs everywhere but which position do you guys think there isn't a lot of?

I'm going to try to get back into 2k after not playing it hardly at all since my friends stopped playing. I had a 90 OVR "Paint Beast PF" that I was effective with but it was one-dimensional. Wanna make something more well-rounded this time around.

I usually like forwards but I don't care what position I am. Was probably going to go with a Playmaking build either pure or a hybrid with shooting/defense but I've been thinking of doing a Pure Shooting (since I've never done a sharpshooter in 2K before) and maybe not putting all my badge pts in shooting and trying to round out the player a bit more.

                      Made a pure yellow SG6’5

                      80 mid/75 3ball
                      86 layups/80 driving dunk

                      With the speed/strength chart.

                      16 off badges
                      15 shooting
                      19 yellow
                      4 defence

Gonna use him as an allround 2 or 3 in the rec.

Is labelled as a slasher, with slasher takeover.

Nobody is gonna expect the 75 3ball lol

I actually didn’t upgrade him after playing a few tests with him.

Instead went with a 6’5pg with the yellow/blue

                          Took the strength/speed again.

He’s a bit slower with 85 speed at 85 overall.
But a 71 strength and 92 post moves is a wrap.

90 driving dunk, while still having a 65 3bal and 75 middie. 82 post fade.

First rec game. No badges. Against ss2/3’s
                          35k xp lol, over 30pts.

Got 3 straight up contact dunks without a single badge.

And 3 steals with a 34 steal lol
I swear the steal rating is useless.

Has anyone tested if you can get the +4 to all attributes without fully maxing out your player's stats? I'm on a new build and my old one is fine at 87 but if I can get +4 attributes without spending vc then I'll keep playing MyCareer with him.
