Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.

This is going to be a long one😁
    1) 6'7 235lbs SG (Draymond PF/C)
    Badge Upgrades
    24 Defense/Rebounding
    11 Playmaking
    10 Finishing
    3 Shooting

Per a recent Mike Wang tweet it would get Smalls, Pro and Elite Contact Dunks

    2) 6'3 175lbs PG (Donovan Mitchell)
    Badge Upgrades (roughly)
    21 Playmaking
    17 Defense/Rebounding
    11 Finishing
    10 Shooting

    3) 6'10 PF/C (Amare Stoudemire but with bad FT)
    Badge Upgrades
    30 Finishing
    15 Defense/Rebounding
    1 Shooting
    1 Playmaking

    4) 6'6 PG/SG (Lonzo Ball with better FT and Kawhi's wingspan)
    Badge Upgrades (roughly)
    30 Playmaking
    10 Defense/Rebounding
    9 Finishing
    9 Shooting

    5) 6'10 C (Dwight Howard with worse dunking but better FT)
    Badge Upgrades (roughly)
    27 Defense/Rebounding
    18 Finishing
    1 Shooting
    1 Playmaking

Why is the tone in here so negative lol

Shouldn’t we be giving advice and making suggestions instead of mocking each other

Anybody looking for a certain nba playstyle? I’ll help

I think I'm gonna have to go with a 6'5" slashing playmaker this year. Just dropped an easy 46 and 8. [emoji123]

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.

The problem is that it’s way to easy to make an OP guard, but extremely difficult to make a “decent” sf, pf, or c unless you simply want to be a lockdown glass clearer with some slashing abilities.
                And here’s why....
Guards don’t need to put anything into low post defense, rebounding, or even any of the post scoring abilities. That’s 6 spots where guards can save attribute points to fully max out every single other category and get max badges.
I’ve experimented with every position and came out with one build at PF that could be almost decent without making a slasher or a lockdown glass cleaner.
On the other hand nearly every guard that I make is a superstar.
If one person here can show me a SF though C that can have a 75 rating in every category I’ll delete this post. Because I can make multiple different builds that do that as a guard.

Side note, slashers need a HUGE nerf.
With the quick step, stop and go, and space creator badges added to the fact that all they have to do is get a lane to the basket and it’s nearly a guaranteed bucket regardless of the defense.
It’s the most OP build, maybe ever.
If you struggle in the demo, make a slasher, it’s a guaranteed 50 pts.

So, what do you all think about the defensive badges no longer being able to drop the tiers of the offensive badges?

Absolute joke how much more attribute points are given to guards and how much Centers get shafted. As if everyone and their mother already didn't make a guard and chuck shots all game. I really hope they show big men some love at launch

These are a couple of point forwards I tried: a slashing almost pure playmaker and a kind of two way facilitating finisher.

I managed to raise the playmaking badges points up to 30 for the "pure point forward", without sacrificing the others.

The 2 way point forward has three different takeovers (play, slasher and lockdown), which is nice.

Both are 6'7", anything taller is too much penalizing atm.

                        Thoughts?

That’s tough... At 6’7 you might as well make a SG. You’ll get more cap points and be a better shooter.

I think it’s a solid all around build but no will use it because they can’t ‘cheese’.

                          ...Sorry, I meant speed boost

Just chipping in about the 6'7"/position thing: when I saw NBA2KLab's chart I re-made my 6'7" SF as a SG, as it said that I had a few more starting attribute points and a handful of extra potential points (same pie for both).

It comes out the same exact player. You start a little higher, cap a little higher, but taking the default 6'5" SG to 6'7", values drop to the base values of the 6'7" (default height) SF.

Probably you are right but honestly I'm not really into all the Meta stuff and speedboosting was never my thing.

However right now I'm more interested in testing the builder rather than the builds, undestanding the hidden logic behind it (since 2k never explains sh*t).

For instance, by changing a little the allocation of attributea in the 2way point build I managed to get 4 additional badge upgrades (2 in shooting and one in finishing and defense) by sacrificing just 1 upgrade in playmaking.
But the new attributes allocation made me loose the lockdown takeover (despite I had more badge upgrades there than before ).
So, with some more builder testing, I got my lockdown takeover back, even if I had to give up a defense badge upgrade.

This part of the builder can be fun, finding the sweet spot between attributes, badge upgrades and takeovers.

Making the same player as SG gives you more badge upgrades (as you have more attribute points to spend) but attribute wise they are basically the same.

There are some differences in the default physicals too.
