Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
The guys on here complaining that only guards can be elite are delusional... The problem is you all want big men who can shoot, dribble, score in the post, dunk at will, rebound and defend. You HAVE to sacrifice something. Decide the 2-3 things you want to do most and make your player. It’s like you want these big men to have guard skills while also being a dominant presence inside and on defense.
The guards are sacrificing something too. No guard build is gonna have size, speed, athleticism, be a knockdown shooter, lockdown defender, outstanding playmaker, good rebounder and good finisher inside. But that seems like that’s what the whole “3-5’s are being limited to role players” crowd is suggesting for their player. Nobody wants to watch your 7 footer momentum behind the back into half court 3’s while also being able to dunk on everyone and lock everyone up at Will. Pick the couple things you wanna be good at and do it. I made a big and a guard in the demo and they wore BOTH amazing
I literally just made a 6'5 PG with good finishing, good shooting, excellent playmaking, and subpar defense and top of the line Athleticism. 5 gold finishing, 5 gold shooting badges, a mix of hof and gold playmaking badges and no defensive badge beside a bronze.
So yeah I had to sacrifice defense to be elite on offense. No holes in my offensive game and as a PG and a good team system, my defense can be hidden.
But yet on a SF at 6'8 (which is a normal height for a SF , not outrageous), my finish is subpar, my shooting is worse, can't get 70 ball handling which is not high, my defense is bad. See the difference? Why does guards get to have no holes in their game on offense but yet a SF cannot be elite. At anything.
Once again, me and countless others not looking to be 99 in everything but I can tell you straight up that SF got f'd over.

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
They pretty much reworked Rim Protector to be new Eraser badge since they don't want defensive badges dropping Offensive badges.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
Dude that's every year...
I figured out a nice balanced center. Favoring defense first and inside second even though I picked the inside chart. I even got 4 badges each for playmaking and shooting.
I may stick with this build. It's nice that I can score inside but then again this is on rookie. I may say something else when the full version comes out lol

Offensive and defensive rebounding are two very different skills. One entails boxing out, and another defeats box-outs. I’m all for this.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
I’ll get around to making a video on all the cheesy builds that will dominate in Park/Pro-Am.
The builder is pretty much the same as 2K19 except Post Scorers and Pure Locks got destroyed while Sharp Plays and Pure Stretches got huge boosts.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
You don’t think height in and of itself is an advantage? Look at it this way. If you could make a 6’8 player who could get the same stats in everything as a 6’3 player what would be your incentive to make a 6’3 player? SF can be good. Will they be as fast as a guard? No. Will they have the playmaking ability of an actual guard? No. If you wanna do guard stuff just make a guard. You’re a wing. Your focus should be on shooting/finishing and maybe some defense not ball handling. It’s not that they’re “limiting” you. They’re just trying to get the positions to play like it has traditionally. The only thing 2k does is make it hard to replicate today’s positionless basketball. But you can certainly make traditional builds by position. Plus it’s not like you can’t choose badges to pick up the slack.
Okay you say shooting and finishing. Well my shooting and finishing stats are both lower than my PG that I made.
And 70 ball handling is bad for a guard but good for a SF.
I said it once and I'll say it again and you tell me if I'm asking for much
90 mid range
75 3
70 ball handling
70 speed
70s in finishing
High 60s in def/rebounding.
6'8 height
I can't even make that right now but for some reason I can make a PG with
80s in finishing
80 mid range
75 3
95 in ball handling and passing accuracy
70 defense
91 speed
6'5 height.
With gold finishing, gold shooting, hof and gold playmaking badges.
Im literally an elite player at PG (Which I have no problem with, just want to be able to do the same with SF).
You say if you can be elite at SF, then everyone would just make SFs but yet I can say the same and say everyone is just going to shift to PGs and even SGs and now it's a small lineup on the floor.
The game severely punishes you for being 6'8 which is a Normal height for a SF. And a 6'7 SG is better than a 6'7 SF in the attributes department. So why make a SF when I can make a SG. Might as well switch to a guard, wing, big setup at that point because SF is pointless
