Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
Don't make a bigman under 7'3
I made a 6'11 paint beast at center figuring the speed difference would net more fastbreak opportunities and better positioning against the larger guys. but in true 2k fashion speed for a bigman is useless.
Despite having 30 more speed then every 7'3 big men(70 vs 38), We still run the same on fast breaks, I believe there is something fundamentally wrong with sprinting, There has to be a minimum speed setting or something. I was hoping that big men would also have a cap on stamina but everyone can get 90+ stam.
max weight bigs should cap at 70 stam and selectively sprint, instead the patch buffed stam and rendered my build and hard earned money useless competitively.
Before anyone chimes in claiming stick skills, I made a 7'3 center with a 60 overall and got a double double(14pts,25reb) in rec with 5 assists and no badges. I was catching up to small forwards on the break and shorter big men no problem. I needed gatorade one time in the last quarter and that's after sprinting the whole game.
I highly recommend making an interior force center, you can still defend because well....you're 7'3 but youll be able to score after getting boards unlike glass-locks because the standing dunk and post moves.
Anyother center build is moot aside from a great stretch 5.Comment

So don't worry, there is no need to make a 7'3 CComment

Thinking about making a 2nd build this time a center always wanted to do C always went SG that's because of nba games when it comes to park/Rec I'm not that good for a SG I may fit better being a C those of who got a Center&Shooting Guard what do yall prefer ?

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
Yesterday i finally took him to the rec, since i had managed to get my first badge (yay)
Played a few games, averaged a double double.
With 76 rebounding, both off and def, and 90+ inside def, i feel like i’m just as good a defender as paint beasts/glassdowns
But that 95 standing dunk 95 inside shot 95 hook on a 7’2-and-a-half (i use the the metric system, you get more height options) with max wingspan, i feel like i’m more useful on offense than those defenders and glass.
And them glasses are not outrebounding me, i’m taller and only 10points down in rebound stats.
And rebound chaser doesnt work like hustle rebounder did, so no snatchy animations.
I Made his face like Bucks Kareem, his name too for custom Jersey until a Classic jersey appears in the NBA store, and ofcourse i got the skyhook equipped.
Even took the slight build model. Though it looks funny since all them paint beasts and **** are looking broad as **** compared to meComment

in a week or two when most ppl reag 85-95 and get hof badges you will be what to make 6'11 or 7'1+
i allways made 6'11 and have blast with them, but truth is 7'3 guy will most times make contestd layups over you, and you cant do the same to them.
6'11 will play better pnr defence, 7'1+ will be better for contesting shots.
all depends what mode you play. if you play 3v3 make smaler guy so you can switch on guards and still grab boards. if rec go 7'3. for pro am id say 7'1.Comment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
Question for wing defenders (especially dual): what did you do with interior defense?
It should affect post defense for sure, but I cannot undestand if it also affect shot contest on drives and jumpshots around the paintComment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
as i noticed vs slashers, either you get that slow animation and he will mostly miss or you will block him, or you will get dunked on if he gets good animation
thats why you need to play with good big who can contest shots in time, you just open lane to his sideComment

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
I'm a 6'5 Two Way Slashing Playmaker, no points in Interior D and since i got Intimidator up to Silver I'm getting much better contests on drives in HOF MyCareer. On bronze i was getting almost no contest at all.Comment

Intimidator could help offset that though. I don’t have it yet#1 Laker fan

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.
Thanks for the feedbacks.
I realized that defense is another example of the balance issues of the builder: too many key attributes to fill if you want an all around defensive build, especially if compared with the other 3 skills.
Another question, now for everyone.
I read somewhere that the attributes glowing (usually capped at 80 at least) when you select your pie chart have some special meaning, but I don't recall which was
Maybe was badges related (e.g. if defensive rebounding is glowing, grabbing defensive rebounds will boost defensive badges progression).
Can someone help me on this?Comment
