On my paint beast, sorry. Lol not happening.

It's hardest to do on the 7'3s. But my favorite play in the game is letting someone back me all the way under the hoop. They'll pump fake once, I'll wait. Then when i see the shot attempt going up I'll jump OVER the rim to block that stuff OUTTA HERE. Lol

But even when they're trying hooks or fades, I'll get Intimidator HOF to trigger quite often. Matter of fact, don't try and shoot jumpers on that build either. I know I'm quick enough laterally to stop any drive by most bigs and SFs at the 4. So I'll just make you pull. Quite often it's an air ball cuz max wing span, i can still contest from quite a ways away. Love getting those spike blocks on jumpers too.

But on my pure playmaking PF at 6'9 i have the rim protector takeover. So i get a few rebounds and you're not scoring on him much either. The best part about that build is he gets a 70 three and 70 ball handling with HOF Quick First Step. So i hit a couple jumpers and now I'm getting to the hoop when i want too.

I told you about box bronze. I was already out rebounding 7'3s on my paint beast but once i put box bronze on my PM PF and Gold Rebound Chaser i started doing the same on my other player too.

Idk, a lot of it is knowing how to play angles.

I dunno, lol. I think I still might be able to feast on your build .

However, you sound like you at least make an attempt to really understand the strengths and weaknesses of your build. The interesting thing about this whole MyPlayer world is that a lot people just try to build the "best" builds then expect this build to be a God on the court like they're the only ones that got that build. It's rare that you run into somebody that truly understand their build.

The builds that I have are based on my real life experiences and players that I admired from the NBA. My PG is based on the belief that defense starts on the PG first aka the head of the snake. IRL and depending on the team, I was almost always assigned to the best ball handler on the team. As an "okay" ball handler IRL, I was always looking to setup my teammates, and I only scored when I needed to keep the defense honest. I wanted to create an AI/Gary Payton type of player.

My C is based on the position that I played the most which was PF/C. When I played, all I cared about was rebounds, blocking shots, and playing defense. I joke with my sons that I was Ben Wallace before there was a Ben Wallace. Now, I DREAMED about having Shaq's offense. Truthfully, I really wanted to create a Jermaine O'Neal type of player, but I didn't think the game mechanics was ready for that.

It's funny because i just watched a video today on Keyon Martin and Tim Thomas' beef. I would say my latest build, the 6'9 PF i can play my best Kenyon Martin impression. K-Mart would block you on one end, take your rebound all the way up the court and pull an off the dribble midrange. He also improved his outside shot the longer he kept playing.

So it's funny that the last couple years I've really shined at playing the 3 and 4. I used to play PG a lot, then found there were better on ball players out there. Had to learn to play off ball in park and Rec real fast. Ever since then I've been the linchpin on defense playing undersized at the 4 a ton.

Really only this year have i had a real fun time playing the 5 sparsley. And it's simply because as good as i may give up on defense for being undersized i make up in spades on the other end.

        Id say I'm a good center, mostly. But I'm a great 4.

I've ran 6'7SF mostly at the 4. The 2way playmaking build.

I made a 6'9 paint beast at PF. I never uppraded his shooting. Loved him on defense, wished he was more versatile on offense.

Made another paint beast same size but only upgraded standing dunk to a 75 so i could focus more on ball handling and shooting. He is amazing. Can run the 4 or 5 no problem at all.

But when i made the pure playmaking PF i could do everything on offense except contact dunk. It was a great trade off and didn't feel like i lost a WHOLE lot on defense with the takeover. There's a HUGE difference on defense, but i get ENOUGH defense to be ok.

You did all that contradicting but didn’t read.

6’10” +3 arm length, 70 ball handle (PRO DRIBBLES)

It’s as close as you’re going to get.

No 6’9” build is Kevin Durant.

          You somebody else.

I’d like to have difficult shots and HOF shooting badges but Durant’s playmaking is what separates him from just a pure stretch 4.

          Hence HOF playmaking badges.

I was goofing around with the MyPlayer builder last night...

Creating a 6'9" PF is a serious leap of faith especially when you know there's going to be times where you'll be slotted at the C spot.

I'm telling you. The 6'9 pure gold pie chart. 70 rating across the board. You get 81 rebounding and a 70 block. Your other defensive ratings are only in the 60s. But with the right badges it doesn't matter.

Gold Rebound Chaser, box bronze, rim protector bronze, intimidator silver. I was holding my own at C.

I know that my paint beast has no problem at the 5. But I'm not scared on my playmaker.

HOF quick first step, space creator, and handles for days.

              A 70 three...

On offense I'm good enough to be knock down if I'm open. If the big closes out, I'm blowing past him. I can score in midrange, outside or in the paint.

It's really a god build, honestly.

I couldn't bring myself to do it, lol. All I kept thinking was "6'9" at the damn PF spot". Then I felt like I was losing too much sliding him to 6'10". I was even playing with creating a SG. I can honestly see why people avoid these two spots. There are some serious learning pains that you have to go through first before you can realize the full potential of the build.

I tried to initially just drop a hint at it, but the 6’10” KD build I’m talking about is pure playmaking.

At 6’9” you might as well make a SF even though you’ll be at the 4.

This year was about hybrid and swing players.

We’ve run SFs and PFs in rec, regularly. 4 guards (two ways tho) and a SF or a PF...

Rec/pro am in general is very much like a college game (in the sense of time/efficiency)

So you can actually run a variety of lineups this year (as opposed to others) and have success, as long as it’s an actual system and it’s executed well.

I’m not telling you that you can beat sweats or comp with WHATEVER on the floor, but if you can come up with a competent system and actually run it, you’d be surprised. Out of all the years imo this is the closest.

Re: Official 2k20 MyPlayer Build Thread.

I chose the Rim Protector takeover. Fortunately, getting rebounds is enough to fill your takeover pretty fast. 3-4 rebounds and good shot contests and I've got takeover. This means most bigs and guards will miss, which gives me more rebounds. I could theoretically put on Breakstarter HOF but i pass the ball up the court well enough with a 60 passing

I'm literally unguardable on offense, and when i pull the 4 or 5 out the paint, it opens the floor for my teammates. A lot of times the big is so used to rolling to the paint on defense, i can fake a cut to the rim and they bite, but I've already wrapped back up to the wing wide open.

It's seriously the best big in the game. If i had my system right now i would put up video.

Yeah, higher than 6'9 he's better off being post first. I got my post to an 81 in the creator but only upgraded to a 70. He's a 92 right now, but the build could be a lot better if i upgraded him to a 95 or higher. But with the right badges, this build can be a problem.

I can honestly say that I enjoy the center position much more than the PG. There's so much pressure on the PG to make the right plays and get everyone involved. But the center position...I love the fact that the pressure is not on me to score during clutch moments. I can at least say "Man, miss with that BS. I got 6 points, 15 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, and 4 blocks. What else do I got do to keep us in the game?", lol. The funny thing is that it's not I like I CAN'T score (doing much better with my post game as I'm getting more badges), I just don't get the ball enough to score.

I will say this...the center position seems to be more about competition than any other position. It's like...it's a thing of beauty when you have two post players who are REALLY battling in the paint and know how to use actual post moves. When I come against a "smart" center, I always make sure to tell them GG afterwards.

Getting my system back today. I'm gonna terrorize some people today with my PF.

I can't wait to bust a 3, make them come out on me next play, hit them with a pump fake and blow past everyone for a wide open dunk.

Gonna BREAK some 7'3s trying to guard me today.
