Is there a way to control a hand off pass?

I've seen the CPU do it but can't see it in the controls tutorial.

Edit: ah found it. You hold circle/bounce pass.

The sidestep 3 is still in the game dirk. You have to load up the shot before the catch or after a dribble.

I have to admit, i didn't really play 2k19, I'm coming straight off of playing two years of 2k18. So a lot of things feel very different.

Can someone share some insight? Especially on: Where on the court do you start the move? What exactly are you inputting?

Edit after patch 1.05 came out:
"Reverse dunks" not triggering correctly was addressed in the patch. Haven't done testing though.
I genuinely think they broke layups this year.

It feels random af. I am doing reverse layups pressing any direction on the right stick. Typically they trigger when just inside the paint along the baseline. If you go for a layup earlier it’s less likely to trigger. This means that if you get past one defender on the baseline and need to get away from the contact of the defender you will randomly trigger into reverses as the big waits on the other side to block you.

I really wish they reverted the dribble and finishing controls to 2k18 - I felt so much more in control of what I was doing.

Do we have to test the build before we can start? HALP.
So you make a build and it appears in that screen on the right hand side.

Builds that you have started will appear on the left hand side of that same screen.

I believe you need to select the build on the right hand side of the screen (after creating it), and then choose an option similar to "start MyCareer" from the list.

edit:Unless you had a position in mind, I would play a Center first. I would also pick a paint beast build or a shooting glass cleaner.

Y'all should have a lot of unspent VC; try not to invest it in a build until you know you'll have fun with it.

I would advise against playing online with MyPlayer. I would play PNO player control until you get used to how the game is online (meta, spacing, selfishness... etc)

Is there any way to practice inbound/sideline plays ? They don’t seem to be available in the “practice plays” mode and I’m absolutely useless at them as I don’t know how any of them work because you never have time to learn mid match. Is it also possible to change what play you run ?

Is it possible to set players to do specific things consistently? So in my franchise i drafted a star isolation point guard and have a great rim running center so i want tp focus on a pick and roll with them and i want my 3 to kinda chill in the corners and my 2 and 4 either run some screen action together or spread the floor.. ive never really understood the playcalling in the game and it seems like they made it 10 times harder to access this year

                    finally getting into basketball mode.
                    question about defense.

how does one get into a proper defensive stance when running back to play defense.
it seems like Im always facing away from the ball handler when I get into position. and stumble around a bit.
I dont know if its the responsiveness or if Im doing something wrong.

I dont play on line-so this is an off line question

                          Questions about Freelances/Series.

Is it possible to manually chose whether I want to run a branch of the freelance set or a branch of a series? Is there a way to deactivate freelances at all?

Hi everyone, I am new to the forum but have read many posts/threads here over the years. I have been searching for an answer to a MyLeague player training issue I am having, and could not find anything - apologies if I just missed it. I am hoping someone can teach me how this works.

Here is the issue: I have setup the customized individual player training for every player on my roster. When I track their progress in the player development section, it shows the percentage to the next attribute, but when it resets to a lower percentage after several days of practice (indicating the last attribute point has been obtained), the player attribute rating never changes!

Example: I have Miles Bridges, who is 21 with a peak start of 27 - so he is well within his development range. He has "A" potential. I have some training focused on his Perimeter Defense, which is at a 60. One day, the progress to the next attribute is at 99%. I sim a few days of practice and his progress to next attribute point is now at 7% - which indicates he achieved a new attribute point and is progressing to the next. However, his rating is still 60. I thought it was a fluke, but the same thing occurred again.

Furthermore, the graph in the screen isn't showing any movement at all either.

Is this a bug, or am I mis-understanding how this whole thing works?

This is the first 2K game I have bought in several years. But I recall a similar issue with earlier versions. The most recent game I played until now still had the monthly training points/sessions, where you could do drills to increase certain attributes. In that game, I would succeed at a drill and it would tell me the player progressed 2-3 points for 2-3 attributes. But the game only allotted a single point every time, so I had to manually adjust for the difference. While annoying, that system was much easier to handle manually. This progression system makes that nearly impossible without a significant amount of time tracking/editing players manually.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

seriously, how does one stay squared up on defense.
Ive tried the L2/R2 to stay squared up but as soon as I release it my man just automatically loses awareness of where he is and will face or start going in the opposite direction of his man. end result is a free lane to the basket.
