Yeah. Same thing happens to the user team if you use the defensive settings (with ACE off) to perimeter double a player "on catch". I'm pretty sure he said that would be addressed too (as far as not having it trigger in the backcourt).

To add to that point, when you have traps happening essentially at full court that additional button press makes a hell of difference. I’m not sure why it needed to be changed anyway; If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
But I must say I’m really enjoying the double teams. I don’t think it’s a ‘broken’ feature at all. Does it need to be adjusted? Sure, but only slightly. We may have gotten use to stagnate static defense. Sporadic doubles/traps happen all the time in the NBA — it’s a very realistic addition. It worked on my *** a few times and the CPU kept at it. Well done.
Random impressions/thoughts:
- The way you can toggle turbo to slow down, speed up and change your pace is tremendous. Pair that with the new dribble system and it feels so fluid.
- Good defense matters. I wish there wasn’t so many green releases, but if you ball up they go away and you can have rewarding possessions. It’s actually easier yet more realistic on the defensive end when compared to the demo.
- The blocks this year can be SPECIAL. I grabbed Giannis layup mid-air with DJ and followed it up with an alley up to KD on the other end. The sequence got me out of chair.
- Graphical upgrade is slept on this year. Man, even my son turned on the system and was like it looks like the old game (I showed him 2K14 a few weeks ago). My girl said last night it looked like the floors are brighter & freshly cleaned, lol.
- HOF is NOT overpowered. So far I haven’t needed to adjust the CPU’s shooting sliders. No constant cheesy contested shots dropping regardless of the offensive player’s skill level. Average players don’t magically become unstoppable. This is big for me being mainly an offline player.
- Kyrie Irving can FINALLY put on a show like he does in real life! I’m legitimately excited to play with Harden to see if he can replicated this year as well.
Overall, 2K20 has a much playability as any iteration I can remember. It feels smooth and looks great. As I’m writing this I’m looking forward to jumping back on the sticks to learn more about the gameplay, mechanics and little nuances they’ve added. If this is the foundation for 2K21 and next gen, gentleman we are in for a treat.
Last but not least, I pray social media doesn’t cause a drastic patch to a hell of a game.
Bravo, 2K
I also need to improve my defense, because I am getting killed with contact layups. The CPU perimeter shooting on HOF is the best it has ever been on default though.Psn: Alabamarob

It is catch trap, but when it works, I had CPU do it to Harden.
Playing with Rockets is so fun. Down 14 and that’s nothing with Westbrook, Harden, Gordon. The game just needs minor tweaks. Please don’t ask for crazy stuff that ruins the game please.

Won 111-103 Rockets vs Hornets
They stopped and doubled Harden in 2nd half.
But, Gordon, Westbrook and Rivers is hard to stopComment

Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
I've been a 2K player since ESPN NBA Basketball (2K4) and I can confidently say this is the best 2K game out of the box I've ever played. Previous iterations have always needed slider adjustments in order to be the best they could be (and 2K19 was trash on default settings), but 2K20 plays almost perfect on All-Star default. It just needs a few tweaks, like bumping up the CPU shooting. I'll give default Superstar a go before making any changes, though.
I really hope the game doesn't get patched too much this year. This is basketball bliss. Sim ball is back, folks!Comment

Wow. That’s not good. I’ve always played full games (12 min quarter). No option at all huh? Looks like I’ll be out of MyGM then.

I despise who they made the positional playcalling less intuitive. It was never smooth before but pressing yet another button sucks. Also, for hop gathers why does the player always stop for some pump fake? Is this a big? I don’t remember this in previous gamesComment

It’s not big of a deal. I don’t even look at sheen to call it anymore. Just practice itComment

Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
-Graphics look much improved, I'm guessing due to lighting.
-Not a fan of the changes to positional play-calling and calling for screens. Need an option to change it to how it was last year without the extra button press.
-Offensive players are still being affected by players behind them. Kemba Walker standing directly behind or trailing Anthony Davis shouldn't stop him from dunking.
-User team transition defensive logic is still an issue. Players still look at somebody in the backcourt instead of stopping the ball right in front of them.
-Love the way mismatches are exploited for the user and CPU.Comment

Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
23, I know you keep saying it. But man, This actually pretty hard to pick up. Especially if you been calling plays the same way for years. I see what they were trying to do. But I'm literally driving myself crazy. I've put a few parts in the favorite section. But they don't really work. When I'm trying to mix it up. I find myself fighting my opponent who's full court pressing. And me fumbling through the button presses. Especially when people spring traps and the CPU full court press/trap.
Edit: Especially if your playing online. You only get 5 minutes with 5 pauses. And I'm rushing through changing my plays every single games. Because I'm literally having so much trouble getting 5 button presses in. L1, R1, Player button, R2 (change the page) and finally press for the play I want. That seems like a lot.

Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
Cpu is one dimensional on offense. Their midrange game is almost non existent. All they do is scoring from inside the paint. Inside scoring is also too easy for the user. And there are games where the amount of dunks is just unrealistic.(superstar)
These issues remind me of 2k of the past. Unfortunately they make a come back this year.Comment

20-40 3s?? That sounds like a joke to me .Was there a patch ? I’m version 1.01. Anyway...the game was never so easy on superstar as it is this year . And as I said it’s very easy to score against the cpu from inside the paint.

Whiteside gave me a tough time
When the CPU killed me from 3. It was Portland. Lillard is tough in this game. Ask Czar
Will post stats from last two games played in a fewComment
