Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
One thing that hasn’t changed one bit is the loose ball usually going back to the offensive team. I was hoping loose balls were more organic this year. Unless I’m missing something, they fumble the ball more yet the antics just delay the inevitable.Comment

Can anyone confirm if there are in game injuries this year? Someone in another thread said he hadn’t had 1 in over 20 played games....... I’m out of town and haven’t gotten to play since release day TIA

I haven’t seen any, but felt it was over done in the past. I also have sim slider at 37. Put at 55 to see what happensComment

There was this bug early on in 2k18 where you'd get tons of ankle sprains, other than that I'd say it was the other way around. The lack of injuries while playing (not simulating) games (and the lack of injuries on non-game days) in ML has been a problem for a couple of years.Last edited by MacD; 09-08-2019, 09:10 AM.Comment

My son is a big uncle drew fan and he was playing on rookie trying to break his record of 87 pts. He did, but uncle drew got injured on the three point attempt that got him to 89 (Undercut him on the shot and was an ankle injury — VERY tired as well) My son was salty since he couldn’t get to 100 and I was cracking up.Comment

Does anyone know how to disable the takeover icons. I dont mind the mechanic but i dont need a giant res circle to show that someone is hot. We could disable displaying them in 19. If it is not possible in 20 i hope it is something that can be patched. At least give us the option
While it´s not game breaking, I absolutely HATE to see them.
Seriously, why remove the Option?? There´s absolutely no reason for that.
I hope they patch it back in and also the Option, to turn off the Green-Icons for CPU. But I doubt it. Maybe if someone gives Mike Wang a hint on Twitter.
Other than that, the game looks fantastic, easily the best looking 2K.
And the Gameplay is also very promising.
I love the speed differences between players, the space you can create.
Physics, both for players and ball, are much better.
AI-Fastbreaks are also much much better.
And the missmatches are huge, you can really punish the AI with them, but they´ll do it too - awesome.
With a great Roster and Sliders, this will easily be the best 2K, once they fix the Double-Team bug.

But I think this is more a Roster- and Slider issue than an Gameplay issue.
2K19 had the same problem, albeit not on this level. But once the custom Rosters come out, you´ll see the difference.Don´t play video games, play BasketballComment

Some Teams force the ball inside more than others, I have to agree. The Lakers are one of them.

Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
As a mostly offline player, I guess I am taking the unpopular opinion....In its current state, I do not like the game.
On the technical side:
-I get some sort of horrible input lag when playing offline, close to a full second after button presses. The player I am controlling also seems to sometimes handle he weighs 500 pounds, while bigger CPU players with less speed, less acceleration, and less lateral quickness are gliding around and turning on a dime. This happens even when I am careful not to turbo around the court.Makes the game incredibly frustrating to play.
-Sometimes the play art glitches on offfense and literally tells me to stand under the other teams basket.
On the gameplay side:
-You still have to adjust the sliders so that bigs with 50 speed aren't keeping up with guys with 80+ speed.Simple fix but I'm getting tired of having to jack around with sliders every frigging year.
-AI teammates are just awful. They dibble into double coverage then refuse to pass, put up absolute garbage quality shots, stare at the basket instead of shooting open shots the player can make, wander out of bounds with the ball, refuse to take screens(or take them the wrong way),screen the wrong players, and just kind of give up defense half the time. I don't mind doing some coaching, adjustments, etc. but I also don't want to have to babysit all 5 players 100% of the time so the don't constantly do dumb stuff either.
-Specific to MC: I was drafted to the Jazz and Donovan Mitchell has zero minutes? He is not injured or anything and we do not play at the same position (I am a PF/C), the CPU coach just gives him literally no minutes at all.Incredibly dumb.
-Also specific to MC: My player is basically a take on Ben Wallace, yet the CPU constantly calls plays designed for me to take jump shots or low post.I am built for defense and rebounds...DEFENSE....AND....REBOUNDS...stop giving me the friggin ball.
-The contest system is somewhat broken...WAY too much value given to contests from behind.I have had multiple instances where I am on one side of hoop and the defender is on the other side...what should be a reverse layup using both my own body and the hoop to take the defender out of the play is somehow a 90%+ contest...that needs to go.Also, there is way too much shot blocking from behind without shooting fouls being called.
-Just WAY to easy for ball handlers to bully the CPU defense. If they are going to let guys driving the lane just slide defenders around like they do now, there has to be ALOT more take charge attempts and offensive fouls called.
Right now it just feels like the games is designed expressly for the online crowd, which is not my deal.
Now I'm not saying the game won't be great after some hot fixes to address some issues (specifically the input lag). Currently it is the only game that gets me upset, and it happens super fast. So for now...no thanks I'll be playing other games instead; call me when 2K fixes the game.Comment

This issue is helped when I turn off xbox live, but I really hope an update or a patch fix this problem soonComment

the input lag is my only problem with the game do far, when I play against my brother it feels like the players is moving in slow motion on rebounds, crossovers, shooting, finishing around the basket... pretty much everything.

Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
Other than technical issues like input lag, try to get used to the game, guys. 2K's track record with patching is not good, and I'm afraid the game might get patched into being NBA 2K19 all over again with frantic movement, every YMCA Joe dropping bombs (remember that one of the biggest complaints regarding 2K19 was that sagging off was a useless strategy against the AI, since everybody could shoot lights out?) and fastbreaks every time down the court.Comment

Re: NBA 2K20 Available Now on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, Post Impressions Here
I’m guessing the reason the cpu seems easier this year is that the game stayed tuned at similar levels but the cpu now has varied release successes instead of good releases all the time resulting in worse outside shooting. Curious if they patch this or leave it to slider guys offline.
Cpu defenders are a lot smarter now in how they play their opponent. If you have good dribble moves they back off a little and won’t gamble much on steals. If you stink at dribbling they will press you more and go for steals. If you are a good perimeter shooter they play tight AND will bite on pump fakes. 2K18 had no pump fakes vs cpu, last year was a little better and this year a nice sweet spot. With Luke Kennard (not impressed with only 84 three point rating, ranked 36) he has been able to get this defender in Atlanta up a couple of times in the first half alone. Very nice.Comment
