Played a WNBA game and it was a LOT of fun. I'm not deeply familiar with all the players but I was able to just have a good time within the flow of the game.

Hit a game winner with Aja Wilson my first game, haha

THey play more 90s style ball

Not alot of hero ball with tons of iso dribbling and trying to take people one on on and lots of movement and some post play

theyll run more than one play if they have to, to get a post play if they need to

First game Knicks (me) vs Orlando PC version...ate humble pie after getting whooped on Superstar. Right...I kept up with them in the second quarter then I just collapsed on the 3rd. Dropping to All-Star next game.

        - From the videos it looked to me that the animations have been cleaned up some (day one patch?) I've seen some weird contact animations from YouTube which put me off but man once I played this game it's one smooth game. There are still some dribble animations that looked to be cut off some...hard to explain.

        - Defensive footplanting is nice...like it doesn't feel slippery at all...this is something really new for the series. Nothing like the demo...

        - not a negative but I can't do all the dirty tricks against the CPU to score on. Mostly bully ball and scoring cheap inside.

        - It's tough to score inside...like really tough...MoBamba coming off the bench and just sending stuff away with my bully ball tactics.

        - I'm used to not using turbo so I didn't see any Gatorade symbols (humble brag)

        - DEAR MIKE PLEASE GET RID OF GREENS ON CPU WHEN I HAVE THAT OPTION OFF. THANK YOU.

        - Played in NY and I think they updated the organ music to make it sound exactly MSG's. Not bad...

        - Not sure but the sweat effects seemed to be toned down some? Going to play on PS4 next to confirm if it's different from PC.

        - I've seen the double team complaints from people here...since I was the Knicks no complaints here lol

That's it so far...good experience...I'm going to enjoy the game since it's going to change in a month or two.

Yep. This adding an extra button for playcalling has pretty much ruined it for me as of right now. I can only hope and pray they patch this back to how it was before. Basically no chance in running a play twice in the same possession from having to push so many freaking buttons to call a play for one player, by the time you do...the shot clock is winding down. There was zero reason for them to do this...it was fine before.

WHY 2K? Put it back how it was before...please.

The double teaming by the AI is RIDICULOUS. Literally as soon as I pass the ball to LBJ off the inbound the CPU is doing a full court double team.

Makes it absolutely impossible to run any sort of proper offense. The AI is just hindering itself every time up the court. I dare say this is game breaking in its current state.

              - The movement system really shines in the WNBA part. Had the most fan playing them
              - Bug: They referr to women as "he" in the commentary

              - I still cant stand the jump shooting. Automatic animations with no user input control over the visual release of the shot
              - Overall good impression seems well balanced

                So far...

                I don't like:
                - The New more complex way to call an specific play for a particular player
                - Double Teams, the context and frecuency is wrong many times IMO.

                I like:
                Everything else!!! ;-)

I was worried about this. The double teams were bad last year, particularly if you used a team like the Warriors as they seem to have some players hard coded to be double-teamed more often.

I played one quarter as the Warriors last night, and while I like a majority of what I played, the double teams started going crazy with defenders mindlessly wandering off Klay Thompson to double Steph who was 5 feet outside the three point line.

This was a near game breaker for me last year and it appears worse in 2k20. As Steve mentioned in an earlier thread, the double teams undermine all the hard work they put into the AI both on offense and defense.

I wish they would give us the option to remove CPU double teams all together.

Scott OG and Czar- I’m sure you notice this when playing the game. Please speak with the powers to be and make changes to CPU double team logic. At the very least, reduce the double team frequency significantly across the board...

Other than this, I really like a lot of what I played.

this game is great.. i love player movement, dribbling style.. gameplay feel smooth, fluid and great.. My GM 2.0 is great but the problem is you can't change quarter minutes for how many minutes you want play in per quarter

I cannot express how much I love this game after absolutely hating 19. So, so smooth. Cavs' Garland and Sexton's speed is so OP, but the CPU recovers to help with great rotation. I actually like the CPU aggro trapping, I feel it only needs tweaking. Ive gotten turned over a bunch with bad passes and lost dribbles when it's executed well...but I agree sometimes when it's pretty turrrrrible (like random full court traps).

                      Overall, Im loving 20 bigly.

How is that even possible? Is it somehow connected to the new ranking thing they've implemented in MyGM?

yep. they got rid of traditional My GM.. you can't change position in edit player if two players are same position as starter. i like new relationship system with coach, governor, players but i hate one about can't change position and can't change quarter minutes too

Played my first game this morning (6 minute quarters) with my Pistons vs the Raptors. Pistons roster not done that well. Starting lineup is wrong as D.Rose should be PG2 among other things.

Anyways I played on default All-Pro and the default settings are way better than default All-Pro 2K19. It was also easier as I beat the Raptors 67-50 and my sliders last year were boosted to my benefit. One game but it did feel easier. Some notes:
*pre game and in-game splash graphics a bit different (player intro and when you score). I'd still like to see some of their video be in real 4K. Seeing Joe Louis arm a bit grainy on my 65" 4K TV would be nicer in real 4K!
*game does feel a bit slow/sluggish although I had jacked up acceleration in 2K19 to 70 and I'm going to live with this and see how it goes. I do wish jogging/bringing the ball up the floor was a bit quicker without needing turbo. I've never been a turbo machine other than on fast breaks so the new stamina/turbo penalties did not impact me at all.
*dribbling and blow byes are so much better than 2K19. Just going to delete that game. Had to make extreme slider adjustments last year to reduce stone wall defenses of the cpu, even in bad matchups. This year my guards don't always get by but their dribble moves and first steps are nice. Conversely, I was trying to dribble with Sekou and that's pretty much an automatic turnover. Last year the reach ins and steals were way over done imo but this year you will only see that against guys who shouldn't be handling it. Only 3-4 turnovers all game for each of us in my first game.
*I love the defensive circle. I've always been a bad defensive player and this helps. I didn't go for any steals but just seeing the direction helps me. I still got blown by a little but I really like it
*Interior shots better. Last year on default the close shots (not dunks/layups) went in too high imo. They should be closer to 60% or less and 2K20 is a lot better. Contested shots in the paint miss a lot. Saw quite a few blocks too. The post game still seemed fairly easy although I was using Blake. Kind of wish they had a separate slider for the post game vs close shots. Love seeing the contested shot percentage for EVERY shot this year.
*Offensive rebounding. The Raptors only got 3 on me but I got 17! Dre had 15 rebounds but the game stats no longer break it out between off and defensive (was it in there last year?). He was a monster on the offensive glass and probably the biggest reason I won. Dre is the premier offensive rebounder in the NBA so I don't know if this was OP or something to watch.
*Double teaming is overdone and dumb. Because Dre got a bunch of offensive rebounds, particularly in the first half and scored 6-8 points they started double teaming him! And that includes at the 3 point line where he isn't a threat. The logic needs to go back to 2K19 based on seeing some dumb things and reading other impressions. Dre should NEVER be double teamed on the perimeter.
*Lastly, 2K19 had really bad tendencies at release with very little 3 point shooting and I remember jacking up cpu tendencies to 100 for 3s. Toronto shot 3/10 from downtown out of 46 shots. That's a bit low but it's one game and just something I will watch more as I play. Looks like I'm a bit under the weather today and may have to stay home from work!

Overall it's just one game but there are a lot of things better than 2K19 with double teaming the one thing that is not.

Playing games in MyGM seems to be hobbled. Even something as simple as running plays doesn't seem to be there. I press LB/L1 and all I can do is choose who will set a pick. There aren't any coaching options, either, not even during timeouts. So, there is little point in playing the games in MyGM, unless these options get unlocked as you develop relationships.
