Played one 12 min qtr game; All-Pro Default; ACE on

Played as a good team (me: Clippers) vs a bad team (cpu: Cavs).

The Good: I won by 30. The Cavs are pretty bad. Love was good early. A little too big down low for Kawaii. Kawaii was way too quick for Love on the other end.

The game looks great, moves great. Ball "physics/tangibility" is excellent.

Pick and Roll offense is easier than last year yet more realistic.

Blocks are well done.

Playing on ball defense is challenging but fun. I feel the shuffle is necessary to defend.

If you spend time in 2KU the learning curve isn't too tough for dribbles and shots. I think they are super well done.

The Wait And See: Shot contests. Something seems a bit off but I think it will be ok. You must be closer to contest which I understand but the animation isn't a true close out to the shooter. Seems you must be really close and just get a hand up.

The Bad: Double teaming and trapping by the cpu is WAY over done. It actually caused some errant passes a couple of times which was nice to see but for the most part it just gave up easy buckets.

I know the Cavs were behind and the cpu was crashing the offensive boards but I was outrebounded 23 to 2 on the offensive boards. A few times I'm boxing out in perfect position and the ball would just go through my hands. Also, the cpu's second jump was too quick. Especially after landing off balance and immediately springing back up.

Larry Nance was dunking all over me. The Cavs' guards were throwing oops from really awkward angles and tight spaces in traffic and he was just flying in and dunking.

Rotations on defense is still poor. Help comes when you don't need it. 35 feet away from the basket. Yet if you get beat off the dribble your big standing in the paint won't even move. He's oblivious. PG was the only player that rotated properly.

Good defenders getting beat backdoor way too often. I'm on ball defending and Kawaii, PG, and Beverley are giving up cuts to the basket for easy layups far too often.

More later, but wanted to say the game plays silky smooth. No glaring A.I. issues on defense like I notice at most launches, everything seems pretty polished, while I only played a couple of games, Courts are almost 2k14 worthy, faces scans do look better, some of my beloved Legends like Joe Dumars finally looks like Joe. Some still need work like Vlade Divac etc...

Presentation is still lacking IMO, I want more head to head stats and more in game stats during gameplay, the stadium sounds still need revamped to how good it was in 2k12. Not a fan of the soundtrack. Thank Goodness for amazon music.

Still, gameplay is fun, if anyone took a break from 2k at all, this one is worthy of pickup.

to those that have the game: is there still a delay when moving your player from a stand-still? in the demo if your player is dribbling in place and you move the left stick there was like a 2-3 second delay before he would actually start moving. This control delay annoyed me enough to not want to play the game unless they can fix it. Is this still an issue in the full game?

The gameplay feels amazing. I'm actually laughing at the people who said things like "i'm skipping it this year cause this one small feature that I would like did not make it in this year". This is not the year to be skipping out, best NBA gameplay ever.

Basically you can set those plays to make it easier for you though by making your fav 8 plays happen with just one button push.

You can assign those plays to whatever player you want to as well so it's a double whammy.

Mike Wang if you're reading this, I noticed you made some slight changes to the 2K Low cam. I like the change, however the Key Zoom is not as close as it was last year after you adjusted it in a title update.

If you remember, I'm the guy who made the suggestion to you last year to zoom it in closer and you did which I greatly appreciated. Is there any way you can adjust it to zoom in a little closer again? I know I don't speak for everyone and each person has their own preference, but my ideal level of key zoom for the 2K Low cam would be how the Drive cam key zoom is. Zoomed in the where you don't see the shot clock above the backboard.

If you are not able to adjust it, are you able to add in a key zoom adjustment option so that we the users can zoom it in as close as we want? The 2K Low cam is the only camera that I like to use but the Key Zoom just isn't close enough for me. Any response would be greatly appropriated.

That said, here are few issues I've noticed so far...

CPU Big men seem to bring the ball up the court too often instead of giving it to the PG

Foot planting while improved still needs work. Still noticing players sliding into position to receive passes at times and sliding on defense. Also at times players will be standing still but sliding back n forth (during free throws, cut scenes, etc.)

The A.I. double team logic is a little too aggressive at times

I'm noticing some stuttering & choppy frame rate when playing on the 2K Low cam (PS4 Pro)

Crowd audio cuts completely out at times during free throw attempts (especially at the Staple Center)


Other than that I love the game. The level of detail and amount of content in this game is astonishing!

I really like the presentation changes

Definitely noticing the defensive A.I. improvements.

Love the new block shot animations

Absolutely love the ball tangibility this year! Please don't nerf this!

Love how we can spit the defense now!

Great work as always 2K!

I've played 3 more games since my initial one with the Pistons. I lost to Houston 69-47 with LAC. Not a fan of playing with the Clips actually but the main reasons were I was outrebounded offensively and I turned the ball over 11 times to their 0 (that's more like me). Then I played a WNBA game and won by 7 with Seattle over NY in a close game. I liked the step back 1 foot 3 pointers, the ball and the announcers were different but not an improvement imo. Finally I took my Pistons against the Celtics and wrecked them 56-34 as they shot only 30% from the floor.

Some further impressions:
*I like seeing the tip in attempts and would like to see more of them.
*I don't think offensive rebounding is over powered but you really see elite ones dominate.

*Something is off about All-Star. It's significantly easier than last year. I got the trophy for "Easy Being Green" for 10 green shots in a game and that is largely due to Free Throws. Last year I struggled on All-Star with free throws and probably shot a little under 70% as a team (not brutal but over a season it hurt). I am greening free throws now like you wouldn't believe. I do like the return of the FT% indicator based on release from 2K18. I really wish they would add user/cpu FT shooting sliders to the menu.
*All-Star shooting percentages. I must say in all 4 games I played both me and the cpu were under 50% shooting which was nice to see. Last year could get really inflated. That said the cpu stinks at making 3s which may be a problem. Against Houston they went 4-20. NY in the WNBA game went 1-8 and the Celtics just went 0-13. My percentages seem normal (30s mostly with one game 7/14). It seems All-Star is easier this year. Gonna have to tweak sliders or maybe even start on Superstar and tweak since the under the hood stuff (like FT shooting perhaps) is different. Overall I tend to turn the ball over a bit too much on All-Star but the cpu isn't shooting well enough from mid-range and particularly 3s.

*Points in the paint and shooting in the paint does seem on the high side. There are some good blocks but outside shooting, mainly for the cpu on All-Star needs a boost.
*Double teams haven't been brutal in my last few games but they do seem to happen too quick. Anyone makes 3 buckets and they start double teaming. Sometimes it has caused turnovers but other times they leave people wide open. It needs to be toned down and smarter.

Still really liking this game. A nice upgrade over 2K19. My PS4 Pro is really loud though at times. More than last year.

Played a WNBA game and it was a LOT of fun. I'm not deeply familiar with all the players but I was able to just have a good time within the flow of the game.

Hit a game winner with Aja Wilson my first game, haha

I'll definitely be doing a WNBA season to kind of take my mind off the grind and just have a good time in between playing my serious myleague.

That didn't take long lol

Go to coach settings and you can remove any of those default options - isolation, floppy, recieve screen, etc and add a play. The list of plays pops up when you click on those names.

Choose a play, then IF you want, you can assign any of those plays to whatever player you want to run it.

Once you set them to the plays you want, you just pull up the menu and hit the corresponding button to run the play.

So if you set Isolation to something like Quick 1 Horns Flex. You can leave it there as default or assign it to any particular player in the game.

You can also change the 3 freelances to any series or freelance in the game

All in the gameplan menu.. i can post pics if you need
