Its the reason we got console modding in MyLeague as one example.

Secondly, taking someone else's work that they built from scratch on a time limit and puffing your chest out about as if you did it all by your lonesome is asinine.

Frankly I can't even believe you're running with this childish narrative as if you have some kind of ground to stand on. Just stop it.
There is no narrative that I'm running with. I know we have modders like Razor and some more guys who started on that nba-live website and stuff. All I'm saying is that anyone who works for 2K would be a great modder as well, but people don't see it that way because they think the devs are lazy. They don't realize that being a dev requires a different set of skills that most modders never knew existed.

Idk where you got the whole "taking people's work" stuff from because I never mentioned that. That is not what modding is, and you know that or else you wouldn't speak of those 4 guys with merit.

My only point is that people are going to look at 2K out of the box, compare it to the cyberfaces of the PC mods, and assume that 2K's devs are lazy. If you don't think that's the case, then okay. It just makes the most sense to me.

The ‘2K devs are lazy’ is by far the most common statement I’ve seen in my time here, also the most inaccurate and just plain boring statement.

Saying ‘some people might think they’re lazy’ when nobody else has said it is a big indicator that it’s your own personal opinion.

Modding is infact one of the most amazing things in the world. I'd definitely be puffing my chest out if I improved a AAA game. haha.

Ever played Civ 5? That game has some amazing mods that make it still good and interesting. They totally rebuilt the AI and the game.

You're right that hiring modders is a good look though, but in the end outside modders are still going to be necessary. I am thankful that people take the time to do stuff like that...

Regardless of a chicken and egg argument, if someone can come out and do something 2k couldn't, that's a big plus. It makes the game better. I do agree it's not embarrassing really because anyone who is familiar with mods understands that modders constantly make good games better in unimaginable ways.

Seen some backwards adoption of mod stuff, too, which is cool. Probably the fact that 2k is a 'port' makes it so they don't want to release a super crazy PC game that's different than the console. But... they probably should because of all of the other problems that come with being on PC (hackers/glitchers online, etc.) They should just make a beasty offline game, but that's what modders are for.

Just a heads up: Czar is featured on 2KTV this week in a segment on playcalling. It's just going over the quick plays and pick and roll stuff so it's aimed more at the entire 2k community and is stuff this board likely already knows, but it's good to hear The Prez's voice again.
