Rebalancing archetypes for online mode shouldnt impact.
However, 2K16/2k17/2k18/2k19 werent the same game at their release and after first patches while i play only offline modes (quick game / myleague).
Mycareer is a single player career mode. It’s not necessarily an online mode. The park is an online mode. I play mycareer, I don’t play the park. You can play mycareer sim or you can cheese the game just like you can in myleague. All of the tuning they make is based off the park, rec center and pro am. Those are NOT the single player mycareer mode. You take your character from mycareer to play online in those venues if you choose to. They should be separated as the online portions limit the single player career.

It’s easier to do the right thing, than to explain why you didn’t.

Eventhough i suffer bad from that toxic MyPlayer community, i'd say a big NO.

The thing that has to be done is TOO SIMPLE. Just tune the gameplays of the different modes differently. That's what FIFA does for years and now they have FIFA Volta, a very much different game within the game so that's what 2k should begin to work as they can already develop a different build for 2k League.

They should be doing that and seperate modes and build them differently as to their fanbase taste. Because as an NBA guy who plays Play Now, MyLeague and MyLeague Online, i don't want Park players toxicity in NBA modes no more!

I know I’m out of touch when I search YouTube for vids of classic players and get “How to make a Patrick Ewing Build. So glitchy!”

I don’t know if separate games would improve the quality of the gameplay but I can see the thinking that it would. I just think the 2k resources are spread too thin.

I don't remember the last time we were even able to have an actual demo of the game. Everything has gone towards the MyPlayer stuff.

I feel most of the myplayer guys never played a full game with NBA players which is ridiculous for a NBA game. 2K can literally make a license free open world basketball game and it’ll serve the same purpose. A NBA game isn’t about the NBA it’s disheartening

You obviously haven't played 2k20 yet: MyCareer must be connected to an online server 100% of the time to play "offline". It's actually been like that for years I believe. I've had NUMEROUS "offline" NBA games I've had to replay completely so far in 2k20 because the 2k servers "lose connection" to me and don't save anything I just did.

              Also, just for future reference:

MyCareer is the same thing as MyPlayer.

Ehh, I would have to disagree. MyCareer is a mode. You use your MyPlayer across different modes.

I dunno if you're being factious, but are they tho?

Some players start the MyCareer mode, create their MyPlayer, go straight to the NBA then proceed to dump actual $$ into players they're going to run with in Park & Pro Am, etc via the Neighborhood.

I always feel like people use the two terms interchangeably when they're really two separate things. MyCareer is a mode, MyPlayer is an avatar.

2K has decided that avatars have to be limited. Period.

Not sure why offline avatars can't be free of online restrictions. It's simply mind boggling.

Re: IS IT TIME TO MAKE MYPLAYER IT'S OWN STANDALONE GAME?

As an offline player, I understand the frustration. For quite a few years now it feels as though I've seen portions of gameplay change in ways that seem to be aimed at balancing online play rather than achieving natural and sensible basketball interactions.

That said, making a separate game seems unnecessarily cumbersome. It sort of reminds me of the times when folks pop in and recommend making classic basketball a separate game too. Perhaps there's some folks who'd be fine with that. But for me, I'd be wondering why in the world I'd be expected to pay twice for as much for something I used to get all together.

I've learned not to underestimate the difficulty of programming a functional basketball game, so I don't mean to say this all willy nilly, but I feel like differentiating gameplay elements depending on the mode would make more sense than making separate games altogether. But again, it seems if you alter one gameplay element, it's just a cascade of other alterations you'd have to make down the line for the sake of balance, so I'm not sure that's a totally realistic option either.

It’s a video game guys, how much more realistic do you want before compromising the fun aspect of it.

I think the "it's a video game" argument holds more water when people feel the need to have restrictions on players to balance out a portion of the game that you can willingly not participate in, but are still forced into those restrictions.

I can't recreate KD, PG13, or Giannis for my offline MyCareer mode, because any one of those players would be a "demigod" online in the Park...

                        That's not fun.

Some of the demigod stuff is greatly exaggerated, the true demigods were the 7'2 SF glitched builds from like 2k15. They could have patched that out and made changes to restrict builds while not leading us down the current archetype system which blows imo.

NBA Myplayer can come out in April, while the sim game comes out in the fall. Yes it will cost more to buy both, but isn't it worth it to separate the toxic MyPlayer community from the sim nation?

I have been saying this for a while now...really would like the an NBA game to actually be a bit more dedicated to the nba portion of the sports game and not so much as what feels like a tack on to the Avatar modes of a created player..

I feel, and I can be wrong here, but the Myplayer has pushed aside sim modes I would have loved to see developed like
*Team up- this was a great mode with a high potential

                                * Jordan Challenge, would love it to go further like iverson challenge, Vince Carter challenge, kobe challenge and so on
Humans fear what they dont understand, hate what they cant concur i guess its just the theory of man
