They buffed passing lanes and on ball steals. Passing lanes were better prior at least in rec compared to last year.

Re: NBA 2K20 Patch 1.03 Available - Patch Notes Here
I don't like that defenders don't seem to have objective lateral quickness on defense. If a slow Center is on a guard on the perimeter then he moves as you would expect him too, and the guard can get by him relatively easily.
If that same Center plays up tight on a 3 or 4 who is much faster and quicker than he is, but has low handle ratings, then the 5 has access to lateral quickness animations that are several times faster than he can use against the guard, and thus can cut those players off practically at will.
I'm sure that there are slider settings that can fix this situation, but it's unfortunate that it isn't tuned correctly by default.Comment

After a 24 hour update I can't tell much of a difference. Also when I make a sub on a dead ball while it shows the player going to the bench the whistle blows and there is a 5 second delay. That used to never happen!Proud season ticket holder for the Oklahoma City ThunderComment

Hawks vs Grizzlies, you have situations where Valanciunas is switched onto Collins or Hunter and he can close up to their chest on a pump fake from the perimeter, and still cut them off pretty easily on a drive and make them pick up the dribble despite that hard close. His lateral footwork against them is ridiculous.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Re: NBA 2K20 Patch 1.03 Available - Patch Notes Here
I'm sorry but this plays nothing like the original gameplay. It's not small differences, it's nothing like it.
Player speed is all herky-jerky, almost impossible to stay with guards 1-on-1 or around picks because a) it's too fast even with reduced game speed and b) AI seems to have to go to the EXACT spot on the court to execute a play so if a pass is a little off or I force it one side it just goes into this crazy animation running in circles to find the spot to start running pnr, but if I give it a little space it just burst in for a layup.
They messed with steals. So many loose balls going in the paint.
Player and ball weight is 99% gone. So many unexpected speed bursts, uncontrollable moves.
Fluidity of shooters coming off screens is almost gone. Now they seem to have to slide into one specific spot on the court so they bring the ball down first which gives AI easy contests even when they were completely out of position.
Right stick sensitivity is crazy. I pump fake with the shooting button and if I even 'lick' the RS for a jab step or something it goes for a shot immediately. Never happened before.
Passing animations are all out of wack. This isn't specific just to this patch but it's been driving me crazy for years. Almost no chest passes, everything is one handed. If I run a side PnR and the ball handler takes both defenders, like this:
When I try to pass to the open roller the ball handler stops, changes hands and passes the ball directly to the defenders chest. Ofc it's a turnover. Completely unnatural.
Before people accuse me of being spoiled and arcade or whatever, let me say I've played over 30 full 48 minute games before this patch with different teams, players, fiddling with sliders etc. I'm a sim player, love running plays, slower realistic play and out of the box gameplay was almost perfect other than the double team bug. Even after the second patch it was very, very good. Not it's a completely different game.Comment

Re: NBA 2K20 Patch 1.03 Available - Patch Notes Here
I've always had a few issues with passing in 2K, but for stuff like this have you tried changing how you're passing the ball? Meaning attempting a bounce pass or lob pass in those situations specifically rather than a regular chest pass? Personally I've change a lot of my passing styles in traffic to the bounce pass and I've had much better results.. Occasionally I'm throwing it off a defenders leg, which happens in real life as well, but the game as a whole operates much better and I'm not getting all the throw the ball into the defenders chest issues that I was before.Comment

Use the bounce or ball fake. It’s annoying those passes have been getting picked off forever, but I had to throw years ago to throw other passesComment

I'm gonna wait for a few sliders to come out that really slow that down before I delve into those modes and gameplay.
I just find it peculiar you said you didn't experience any of this out of the box.
bolded the main issue for me that I have with 2k20 - Mike Wang answered a tweet about it saying its a thing they're still actively working on, which I appreciate, but have never really had complaints about this before in a 2k and thats disappointing.
you can hold the icon you want to pass to to lob and double tap to bounce pass. discovering this has made me so happy, hope you get to enjoy that too.Comment

Re: NBA 2K20 Patch 1.03 Available - Patch Notes Here
I’m thinking 2K has become a victim of their own success in a lot of ways, the game is such high quality guys spend a lot of their time nitpicking and looking for issues...... there’s no way this many dudes can see this many different things in 24 hours since the last update/patch........ I’m sorry it’s just redundant to read these threads this year

Not about having another issue but now i see Mike has slowed the game back
I saw a tweet by GSW thanking him for slowing it down earlier on twitter, but thats not my indication, just an indicator
I had to lower my speed down to around 48 or so because it was honestly just a tad too fast... turn it on tonight and it was now too slow, and i know because my wrists were hurting from having to jam the sticks to make it feel like the guys move to my inputs to a small degree
Anyway, i finished that game and put game speed back to what it was and it feels fine. Shocker to me the AI grabbed a rebound and kicked it back out, which is definitely something that was NOT happening.
Anyway im on xbox, maybe we get some stuff later than ps4 guys... like the stuttering ive been reading about never happened to me on xbox.
Oh and as far as nitpicking, thats what these dudes do here for whatever reason, its why many of us leave the forums ever yearComment

For offline I am not a veteran like some of you guys but I’ve never liked monkeying with the game speed. I’ve usually adjusted the acceleration slider for both user/cpu. If I want it more explosive I bump it up. Definitely did more of that in ‘19. Just prefer adjusting that to game speed.Comment
