Is it completely fixed in 20? I honestly thought it was worse in 19. What's the advantage of the new motion system?

NBA 2K16 still holds up well

2K16 was the best game during this generation for me. I would say:

      1. 2K16
      2. 2K17
      3. 2K15
      4. 2K19
      5. 2K20
      6. 2K18

Since 2K18 I’ve been becoming less and less interested in 2K. Mainly online. 16, 17, and 15 was all ones I loved playing online and mycareer in. 2K18 was just bad to me mainly online. 2K19, I loved mycareer and absolutely hated online. So far with 2K20, I am not really liking online or offline that much. They aren’t awful but just not really feeling the gameplay. Mycareer is too easy and Park and quick games online is just too boring. I’ve only played one play now game so maybe I just need more time with the game. Being able to see other people’s releases and perfect releases is a big reason I don’t like 2K20 as well. Kills some suspense for me.

This is the best 2K ever made to me (I still play MyLeague on this lol). I pray one day we return to this engine

They moved on from the engine starting with 2K18, I don't think you will see them ever return to it.

However, an engine with similar player movement principles (The great foot planting, some of the better defense mechanics, to go along with some of the new animations created with the new system) would be ideal.

The biggest thing you notice going back and playing 2K16 is the foot planting, and the fact that skating/floating is incredibly minimal. It gives the user a better sense of control, and makes things look and feel smoother during the course of the game. 2K16 is also incredibly physical inside, and going for blocks (And the animations of those blocks themselves), are just awesome.

I've uploaded many highlight videos of 2K20 to my channel, and you can see from those that 2K20 certainly has it's moments. Some of the driving animations look absolutely awesome. However, it can certainly use movement/defense tweaks. We won't get those in patches, I believe that we would most likely see those tweaks/changes in the next 2K title (2K21)

PSA for anyone playing in 2021 on PS4, you have to set your console clock back to 2016 or all the players are their current ages today.

Other then that, this is where 2k peaked.

Very happy to find this thread. Casually play the games. Noticed that I never like any of the newer versions as much ask 2k16. It just feels different.

Its better than 2022, oh I mean anything made after 2k16, I am praying to hope someone can have like an updated roster of this, I am playing this game on my PS5 right now...but the roster being so old is killing me

                        2K16 is the goat.

2K11 for pure nostalgia and the return of MJ, but from a sheer all around gameplay perspective - 2K16 was off the charts.

Only other game since then that felt even remotely close for me, was 2K20 which I'm currently still playing the hell out of.

Oh wow those vids look great. The way players look turning the corner on defenders.

These days it looks terrible IMO ever since they started over emphasizing not using turbo as you turn the corner. They went to far with it, now sometimes it looks like your player is jogging to the hoop or taking these crazy wide angles.

I don't remember individual 2Ks that well so I can't say I remember playing this but the first 2 videos posted in this thread look delicious man
