Re: How to turn off green splash effect?
There's a difference between knowing that you're having a poor shooting night versus having a great shooting night. I've been playing basketball since 6th grade and well into my 40's. I played high school, college, and a TON of recreational games. Shooting is shooting. I have had games where I felt like I couldn't miss a shot, and I have had games where I couldn't buy a bucket to save my life. Hell, people complain about players missing wide open layups like it can't happen, and I remember losing a Championship League game due to me missing a wide open layup, because I thought I heard a defender behind me and changed my shot unnecessarily.
I have yet to meet ANYONE who just knows when they're shot is going in. I have seen players (myself included) call "buckets" and airball the hell out of the ball, and I have seen players (myself included) scream "Off, off, off!" and the shot goes in.
Like I said before...the green release logic of "Players know when they're shot is going in" is complete BS. Basketball is basketball. NBA players are just better at it, but they're not superhuman or psychic.

Re: How to turn off green splash effect?
I wouldn’t say I know when my shots going in but I know for sure when it’s like 70 percent chance to go in, and I know when it’s off, I’m a real life sharpshooter and have played ball since elementary school in recs, outdoors, and etc, I’ll say great shooters know that it’s a high percent of them making it, honestly sometimes I know it’s going in and it does
IRL, does anyone shoot the ball and expect the ball NOT to go in? When I pull the trigger, I pull the trigger. When I shoot, I'm not thinking about my form, because it's muscle memory. When I release the ball, I'm not thinking about the shot being money, because I know I took the best available shot. While the ball is in the air, I'm not already running back on the defense, because I'm reading the path of the ball to determine if it's going to hit its intended target.
After all that thinking, I'm just reading and reacting to what just happened in that 2-4 seconds. Basketball is a read and react sport. It's not a "I'm confident and good at everything that I don't make mistakes" sport.Comment

Re: How to turn off green splash effect?
Exactly...perfect example. Irl that was a "perfect/green release", which is why Nick was so confident it was gonna fall. The older 2k games did it well. I think 2k14 was the last game to do it. Rarely would you miss an excellent release shot, but there was still that slim chance of a miss like irl.Comment

Re: How to turn off green splash effect?
This debate about whether a player is confident that a shot is going in is just getting off track. 2K needs to give players the OPTION to turn the green splash effect off. End of story, no need for debate.Comment

Re: How to turn off green splash effect?
Agree... Let's stay on topic. Because we're getting into the shot meter/green release area. And we don't care about that. Just give us the option to turn it off for both offense/defense and offline/online. That is all we ask for. We don't need to take it away. Just give us the options.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories

Re: How to turn off green splash effect?
Seeing my opponent's "green release" is the worst thing ever. Whoever's idea this was at 2K needs to be reprimanded. Even when you turn it off, you still see the green releases from the CPU and Humans. Terrible.Comment

Re: How to turn off green splash effect?
The worst is contesting a shot. And seeing the green splash... What's the point of rebounding... Just run back on defense. You already know it's going in.Hands Down....Man Down - 2k9 memories
