Shush now, lol. I have to concede to this mindset. I hate losing more than I hate being anti-social in online games, lol. I played a game that day where I threw up 18 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal, and 6 blocks, but my team STILL lost. Man, I was so heated. It's one thing to lose when you feel like a "role player", but I be feeling like a superstar on the floor trying to will his team to the win. I might break out of my comfort zone today and actually use a mic.

Lol, looks like those randoms are getting to you, like I knew they would. What’s funny is that this is only your first year dealing with them. Imagine how some of us feel who have been dealing with randoms since 2k14. I, personally, date all the way back to 2k11’s randoms in Blacktop mode.

Now, I bet some of the stuff I talked about before is starting to make a bit more sense, lol.

Lol, yup. It sure do! To be fair though, I feel that some of the randoms are just not skilled enough or don't know when to go Plan B, C, or D. I'll be honest. I have seen some randoms genuinely try, and they're just getting the brakes beaten off them. Some have "enough" IQ, but not enough to recognize trends of the other team. Most of them just have poor basketball instincts, and you or someone else say it. They just play NBA 2K, because it's a popular game, and it shows whereas I've been playing real life basketball since the late 80's. Then you got others who think that MyPark garbage will work in REC.

Call me a snob, but I feel like my output is way too consistent for me to continue playing with randoms on such a regular basis...oh God....I'm starting to develop the park mentality, lol. What's ironic is that when I jumped in the mode full time this year, I REALLY didn't think I would be that good at the mode. I thought I would be okay, but yeah...color me surprised.

Hell, I think I'm about to be beast when I acquire my HOF badges for Deep Hooks, Dropstepper (maybe - still debating on this badge, since I rarely use a dropstep), and Pro Touch.

            EDIT:
I was just thinking. Does anyone else have a favorite go-to move? My favorite is catching the ball at the FT line. If my teammates are good, I tend to hit them with nice passes, but I absolutely LOVE using the spin move away from the strong side defense and going in for the easy dunk. I can usually get 4-6 points before the guards smarten up and try to defend the spin move by lingering in the paint.

around 2k19 is when they made their way back lol.

I've been playing MyPlayer exclusively since it was introduced in 2k10. I've been playing online since they gave us online blacktop on PS3. I've played every iteration of the Park/Neighborhood since 2k14. I've played every iteration of The Rec, I've played Team Pro-Am every year. I've also played every position since 2k16 when i moved primarily off ball for team. I've seen every type of offense. Played against every style of defense. I've lost by 60+. I've won by 60+.

What I'll tell you is there's NOTHING like hanging with friends you've known forever on any game. New shooter comes out? I have friends who play those till they get tired and come back. I've gotten friends into games they never would have played otherwise and had a blast.

Hell... Before i had to pawn my system i was literally playing Skyrim with a buddy of mine just by talking about what we're doing.

My sides have cramped up for laughing so hard I'm crying and getting scored on. I've gotten so mad about a loss I've deleted everyone on my friends list (twice) and still have those guys on my list.

Put it like this... In MY opinion the best part of this game, or gaming in general, is having friends you can just TALK to while playing anything. It enhances the experience SO MUCH that i don't really care for Single Player games unless they're just the BEST single player games ever. Skyrim, God Of War, Batman Arkham Knight, Witcher 3....

Played them all, beat them all, but i still play online 2k most every year.

All this said, i do like to "practice" with randoms. I'm typically the best player on the court when by myself. But ours fun to meet new people and get a win with strangers.

If it weren't for my friends i wouldn't be over .500 every year either. But that's mostly due to quitting. I refuse to be down 30 with randoms. I'd rather take the L and move on.

But as much joy as you get when you dominate and win. It's way better when you dominate AS A TEAM and win. Or have a close game that goes either way.

It's when we get skunked by 50 and my team doesn't want to quit. Lol that's when i lose my ****.

Funny...I'm the opposite. I used to have a friends' list and talk to people online. I moved from the friends' list, because mainly due to not having "time" to play with others. This is just probably more of "life" thing (kids, job, school functions, etc). So, I merely migrated to just playing online games with a mic. I stopped doing that because, as you can probably guess, I got tired of the negativity and toxicity that I would hear on the mic. People are ugly online when they think they can't be found, and I couldn't do it anymore. Plus, I got tired of hearing people's background noise, and it's just too tedious going through my dashboard muting folks with each gaming session/match. Now...I play my games while drinking a cold beer is how I roll .

Basketball is just one those sports/games that's unforgiving when it comes to bad randoms, but it's also one of those games where a random can completely sabotage your team and your chances of winning. Basketball also feels like one of those games where a "lone wolf" can just completely ruin your gaming experience. Correct me if there are other games where a random/lone wolf can have such an impact on the outcome of a game.

Idk about Xbox, but i will create a private party chat and just don't invite anyone if i don't want to hear anyone.

But the idea that there's no one else who just wants to kick back and have a couple beers with you is kind of ridiculous. Most of my friends have kids too. We can only play in the evenings and stuff.

Just branch out, find new people you ENJOY talking to.

It was really someone that sent me an invite that played 21 games in the rec and didn't win not one game and only had 2 points. No other stat. Now why would I accept that from him?

Annnnnd.........this mode has run its course with me.

As a random player with no friends. I’ve had enough.

The appeal of ranking up my guy, getting badges and raising PPG is gone.

Useless teammates and all the other crap other people have stated in this thread.....it’s enough.

I had a good run, it was mid March to end of May. But being solo, I’m done. I need more control over other players or need actual friends in this mode run with on a consistent basis.

                              Ahhh... the joy.

Walked into one against a full squad. All Elite, 4 99ovrs and 1 90ovr. It was 'lob city' from rhe get go. 'Excused' myself by the end of the 1st.

Why do so many prefer beating up on randoms, rather than finding some real comp? My guess is that people are extremely soft now a day, so any win is better than any loss.

I mean if all they doing is oops, then stop the oops and if that's all they're doing, then they grinding for rep which yes, they will avoid comp and look for the easiest comp around
