Re: Matchmaking in Rec is awful.

Any tips for making MyCAREER vs cpu more fun / less repetitive? I can't deal with these crackhead randoms this year. Every year they give me L's. Literally my record is like 90% with squad 25% with Randoms. And LFG takes too long. I have a friends list but not everyone always on.

Why am I grinding when I should be COMPETING. Do we even know who's good at the game, like really. Who could do what they do if all builds were even. This is the problem with 2K. A lot of so-called good players get exposed in NBA 2K League Combine, without their glitchy build vs others less glitchy build. It's not about competition anymore, it's 100% about BUILDING YOUR BUILD. That's why I play with rand-ards, it's faster to grind, while still playing multiplayer.

PSA to all you Randoms who may be lurking and reading this --

If you have no idea what you are doing, if you have no idea what basketball is, if you have no idea what the controls are, if you think you should take all the shots, if you have zero understanding between a good shot and a heavily contested shot, if you have zero court vision, if you chase your who to guard arrow like a robot, if you going to troll the whole game....ffs

      go play park.

Leave Rec for people who possess at least 1/2 brain. Thanks!!

are "greening" layups that rare? I dont even really pay attention.

I'm Glass Cleaning Defender with a decent number of finishing badges, and I finish with a good bit of them...I get asked this often, lol 20201006_001238.jpeg

As a big i seem to always have a late release.
That is with timing though on a standing lay up.

Like a dropstep and then release with the shoot button , the release seems to be just beyond a pump fake.
The ball is like not even half way on the way up.

So used at releasing at the highest point lol

Still make most of them, unless in run into 2 bigs with hof intimidator.

It depends on the situation and how contested they are haha. I got Glass Cleaning Finisher, but I'm blue yellow. 7'2... got 23 I think finishing badges. I took my acrobat down to gold to make drop step hof (cuz I got 95 post moves), but acrobat allows for some interesting animations. Hooks sometimes come up really fast (I'm going in expecting the shoulder down lay in long animation and it turns out to be a little flip shot), and I think due to the patch they made it easier to green lay ups, either that or my rating is higher. I get pro touch a lot, some greens.

But I recall a recent game in park where I contested a dude (And this is on pc so haha gotta be more skeptical) like 50% contest, yellow letters and he changed the shot into a green. I def thought HAX haha. That's some stuff I've only seen the computer do, but I imagine it happens. If you get that full bar lay up, tho, greening isn't that rare, but if you are consistently greening lay ups, I'd say you do indeed have a unique skill. Esp contested lay ups.

              Ah ok.

I use shot aiming to finish so maybe thats what it is.

It’s pretty rare. I might get one every 4 or 5 games. Although most times I’m hoping for a dunk so I’m not always prepared for it. I rarely see the other team green them either though.

I can imagine it would be easier with aiming if you trained yourself to always roll the analog to the top or bottom after the animation starts. I, unfortunately, had to switch to the button since dunking was broken with the stick. I bet it would have definitely helped my layups though.

This year iv gone with the "Dont expect a good game when you load in with randoms" approach and have had mad fun so far. Up until like 2k19 I had a squad and we played hours a day competitively and as weve gotten older we cant play so much together so I just play alone.

If you get over the fact that everyon online is cheeks youll start having fun every game. It took me 3 years to finally let it go. Now when I get a squad its a very pleasant surprise but this year i finally made builds that still allow me to have fun even if my team is trash

lmao fasho. Another suggestion is if possible move your tv in the same room as your computer/laptop or vice versa. I have more patience for dashboarding over and over when I can go on computer while waiting for it to reload. There needs to be quicker exits out of Rec for next-gen.

Ive been playing with randoms for a few years now, you need to get this mindset or you go crazy.
Even when dashboarding like the guy below, you still end up with a bunch of goofies half the time.

Last year my randoms build was 6’9 paint beast. Consistent 3’s. Gold quickstep. All contacts. I could do everything and carry a team.
Its really much more difficult this year to flat out put the team on your back.
So I went with a two way slasher. Living of steals and fastbreaks mostly.
In halfcourt offense i just sit on top and drive in. Got the pro dribble moves since the patch, so there is options.

Had some 50 point games already, while only having 2 silver badges lol

im trying but its way to sensitve tbh.
drives me nuts when i over shoot it.

im trying to get used to the timing first in JRC before going back to aiming.

i do know its OP as you can trigger both consistent for a late release and pro touch for good aiming on a deep hook.
couple it with hotzone and its money.

btw the shimmy hook also triggers dead eye

gonna see if it works with cross key as well lol

Never thought I would get back into park/pro am but its been a fun month....even with my fundamental glass cleaning lockdown.

Like someone else said, I think the key is making a "teamate proof" build. I've run into some compete idiots.. some dude tried to sabatoge our game last night because he wasn't getting touches...and we were up 10, smh...but I've been fortunate enough to run with some good squads...even made gained some running partners along the way. If anyone around here is on XBO I'm down to run.

Been nervous to because my offensive game shot through the roof when I switched to button. I’ll give it a try today and see if there’s still a difference or if they actually fixed it.
