I havent seen (m)any of those plays in the general playbook, or in any team's for that matter.
Its frustrating, to see ACE completely take over, usually in the 2nd half.

I bust my *** to achieve realistic game play, drive+kick, 3p shots frequency and all that, only to see ACE destroying it by driving every bloody posession to the rim with the go-to guy in the most part of 4th quarter.

It sucks. Im gonna just deinstall the game, obv I am trying to achieve something devs wont let happen.

They're not listed in any team's playbook. But they are run exclusively in end game situations. Kind of the same thing as inbounds plays. No one has them listed, but the auto play function will call them for you.

HOWEVER, I will say that when I have edited a playbook to contain an "End" play, that play ends up being the go-to play for end game situations when you select smart play. Try it for yourself in an end of game/end of quarter situation. Choose smart play and you should get an "End" play.

Unfortunately, I dont play the game, I am exclusively watching CPU vs CPU so I cant see the notification about what play is being called.

But I will try to find end plays in the playbook and play with it a bit.

Also, going through the playbook recently - I noticed quick sideline plays in there!

Right! They are listed, but they're in Playbooks automatically. Same with "End" plays. You can add them manually to books, but they'll be called automatically during end game situations.

Good thread. I love how everyone plays/sees the game differently. I love sliders.

Can I get y’all to critique this proposal?

Using an online myleague as a sim play now lobby. For example:
set up a myleague (6 minute quarters)
Add Celtic (or youalreadyknow’s) sim roster and
              Add shadymike sliders.
              Turn off trades.
users join and leave as they please

Not exactly sure how to add a vote in post, but would appreciate any further ideas to incorporate sim and online gameplay. Reducing the commitment needed will make it more accessible, imo, and we wouldn’t need to wait for 2K to do it for us.

Might take a little tweaking to get it fine tuned, but I think it's worth a try.

                    Let’s start with ACE:
ACE controls play calls for the first few minutes of the 1st & 3rd quarters, the final 2 minutes of the 2nd & 4th quarters, and the final possession of any quarter. These are usually series plays to start quarters and preset plays outside of your team’s playbooks at the end of quarters. Unfortunately most of these plays are absolutely terrible in terms of timing and execution and ruin end game scenarios (which can’t be fixed).

                    Next, let’s go to bugs:
The same bugs that have existed since around 2K17/2K18. Guard Post Up is a play type that overrides every other setting and will take priority over even the Touches tendency. If you set it for a player (at any Priority 1-4) on the team with at least 1 Guard Post Up play in the playbook, then that’s the dominant play call for that team. The next dominant play types are Isolation Point & Post Up High. These will override other priorities for the player, but I haven’t seen it override the Touches tendency.
Note: I’ve decided to remove all Guard Post Up plays from the playbooks, but leave the Play Type assigned to get those players those ACE end game sets instead.

Lastly, how it’s supposed to work:
Touches tendency basically chooses the player on the floor with the highest tendency as the default person to run offense through. This will also be the player who gets the ball in ACE’s end quarter or end game sets. Unfortunately this is also the player who initiates offense in the 2nd/3rd quarter which means you can get a guy like Embiid or A.Davis running point guard ISO’s for a play to start a quarter if they have the highest Touches value on the team (a new bug to 2K20).
wow thats a really interesting read. thanks for that!

do you have an idea why this center gets called a ISO Play at the beginning of a quarter Thing only happens in offline Play? i have never ever seen that Happening in online Play.

It's ACE. That play call is completely out of our control.

Id really really like to have an option to turn that 2nd half ACE driving obsession off.

I watched a great game between Celtics and Bucks today, 1st half was all drive and kick, threes all over the place, maybe even too much...
But it was just beatiful to watch and fullfilling to see CelticLGs roster playing true and my defensive settings finally giving some results...

...and then the 2nd half started and everything just freakin disappeared!!

I will try to bypass this crap by lowering the ball handling slider to as low as needed, maybe that will keep the cpu from driving like a maniac, but I dunno anymore

I’ve been pushing for years to get ACE options in the roster edit & MyLeague coaching menus, but it hasn’t been a priority for them.

Dropping Ball Handling to 0-5 will reduce the driving but I don’t like that solution since it introduces other problems. There are roster edits that fix the issue better IMO. It takes a lot of time to get Drive/Attack/Dish tendencies to play out the way you want this year. I’d drop Drive to 0 for most players, keep Attack below 50 & keep Dish above 50 for most players.

I’m almost ready to throw the towel in on 2K20 with how much ACE controls & the shooting/charging foul issues being so obvious.
