Can't complain. They fixed the biggest annoyance I had with my build. It wouldn't catch alleys.

Sure but a lot of blow bys in 2k happen from just sprinting directly at or by the defender which triggered some sort or contextual animation.

Feel like I can still get blow bys but have to work to set them up (crosses, double crosses, in and outs, etc.) and not be lazy with just waiting for the animation to trigger because I had a faster guy with a good handle rating.

You make a good point.Blow bys do happen in the NBA but in 2K you have some players repeatedly charging straight at the rack and just stiff arming guys out of the way like Jim Brown in the backfield. Granted part of the problem there is also the AI pretty much never trying to draw a charge.

On the other end of that equation, I think there is also an issue with below average and bad defenders (especially when controlled by the CPU) suddenly turning into Pippen due to being allowed to slide into position when they clearly should have been beaten.I'm not positive but think this is an issue involving the Defensive Assist Strength slider.

So I can definitely confirm they did something to the blow bys. I haven't played in about 2-3 months. I've won 3 games tonight playing really solid defense. Even came back from a 15 point lead. It's kind of why I stopped playing. The blow bys were basically unskillful. Tonight I definitely felt the weight of my better defenders on the floor. Instead of me wondering why are they out there for.

guys with great first steps dont need to work for blow bys irl. thats for the slower footed who need the right angle and set defenders up. for instance did derrick rose and arenas need to do 4 moves to blow by a defender.

when i watch the nba quick guards dont gotta work to blow by people. what happened to directing guards towards the help instead this game caters to people who complain about blow bys

Seems like they really buffed shot contests. Much harder to make contested jumpers and layups now.

Nope it's still easy. My 12 year old cousin still makes terrible contested jumpers and layups as long as you have the right badges equipped. It's still a good game for kids and people with zero basketball iq to play.

Besides funky music during free throw I've also heard "defense" chanting for the away team and it did sound different like sample taken from college game with more background noise.

This patch definitely broke and messed up crowd noises. I have seen very weird and new chants lately that is just out of context of the game and I can't seem to make anything out of them. The draft music during free throws is also directly from the crowd audio. If you turn it down to 0 during free throws, the music is gone. So yes this patch definitely broke many things in the crowd audio and behavior.
