    Re: 2k22 Impressions

In coach gameplans you can now choose how to defend against DHO’s! Big win!

For those worried about double team not triggering, you can set those up for opponents in gameplan in my nba or in play now if you switch teams for workaround if you want to dig or double just the post. That’s been there but just saying…

The below is in my nba

Conditional Coaching - create simple command

    Setup garbage time minutes
Sub in players if player has certain fouls
Sub in starters in close game at end

Conditional Coaching - create complex command

You have a crazy amount of options you can set here! Values in a plethora of areas you can create!

I caught a little bit of guys playing Ante Up this morning; it was all 1st generation Demi God build PG's doing left right left right dribble spam and Curry Slide spam into long 3's. That doesn't bode well but at least it seemed easier to stay in front of your man.

Did you come from 21 next gen? If so what’s your initial “feel” impression from the new one? Does it feel much different in terms of overall presentation?

Oh no, not you thinking me asking questions to ensure it meets my particular standards to be worth buying and investing time into is a personal attack on anyone who likes it.

Find where I “thew shade” at anyone. I’ll write out a heartfelt apology.

              To my RS users...

The millisecond delay is gone. Very important in catch and shoot situations. When you push the stick to the 3 and 9, it immediately goes into the regular layup and dunk animations. Last year, it would do a cradle/euro first THEN dunk the ball. As previously discussed, euro/cradle layups are more at the 5 and 7.

Can anyone confirm if there is a 120fps mode? It is beyond incredible that in 2022 game we would be stuck again with 60fps and 30fps cutscenes and transitions. At least make the whole game 60fps lock at all times.

This is why I stick with PC version which I can run 160fps at 4k

Madden did it, it is time for 2K to do the same

Yes! Diving into playbooks now. Check playbook thread in roster section for updates as I go through. About to test them today.

With conditional coaching, is that something you can only adjust outside of a game? Or can you adjust during a game? I’m assuming the former, but the latter would be nice if you want to aid the opposing teams AI.

Played some games on Series X Next Gen. My initial impressions:

                        - Speed: Feels like a 2k21 with gamespeed sliders up. Its good that its faster but maybe too fast right now (had to lower game speed to 48)
                        - Defense is really really tough to blow by. Some warping and sliding going on but overall good (bit like 2k16)
                        - Pick & Roll Defense definitely improved the most
                        - Blocking shots is improved but saw too many blocked shots from behind when I went up for a dunk
                        - Movement is smoother but still clunky sometimes
                        - But overall in terms of animations etc. way too similar to 2k21 for me

If I would be negative I would say it feels like a faster 2k21 with different sliders and better defense. If im positive I would say a deeper experience than 2k21 with better controls.

I've always considered that, but thought it might make it a bit too predictable.

Holy crap, we can do all that? So we don't have to worry about the AI ignoring foul trouble when we change the default rotations?

                          Game changer.

This is what I’m looking for. So the “senses test” e.g visual and presentation feels like 21 to you? I’m sure actually feeling the game shows its variances but based on videos it appears pretty interchangeable with 21 to me. Been curious to know if it feels like that while playing it too.

I actually like a more relaxed speed. Feels more realistic to me.

I really hope they don’t wuss out and patch the good defense. Make the kids learn how to play around it for once. It’s time for defense to make a return to the NBA in general and 2K is a big influence on that.
