Honestly, it still looks a little off to me, but I don’t think it’s noticeable enough to impact me in games. Teams like The Spurs and the Suns black alts etc (there were oddly a couple black ones that weren’t as bad) just looked too off for me last year and I couldn’t use em.

Agree. It’s clear the colors were not corrected. I can still see the same problematic hue on the Bulls Jersey. A little salmon and a little orange. Not that dark rich red. But they adjusted some settings or hues or whatever to make it look more palatable I think.

I just want to know if the difference is something that is exactly like what adjusting my TV settings will achieve, or if it’s beyond that. That will play a huge factor in determining if I’ll get it.

Some jerseys are indeed totally unusable in 21 next gen. Check out the classic Bulls red jerseys (the current Red Bulls at least looks semi decent). They’re complete washed out hot pink. Ridiculous 2K just let that get signed off on.

First off, I think I speak for everyone when I say thank you for your time and answering questions when you could be playing and enjoying the game instead. You the man for this!

One big question: how does defending 1 on 1 feel? I'm sure it depends on the matchup but do you feel like you are rewarded for anticipating what the offense is going to do? Along those lines does it feel responsive?

In years past, and for about as long as I can remember, it seemed like you could know exactly what the offensive player was going to do but it wouldnt necessarily matter because the offensive player could perform a move you couldn't counter or trigger a canned animation that couldn't be stopped or interrupted. I want to feel like I actually have some agency in 1 on 1 defending and not like I'm just hoping for the best.

The 1 on 1 on ball is gonna take some adjusting for me.. There is a weightyness and momentum to the movement, that seems to be much tougher on the defense then the offense. In my opinion, this is why it looks like players are sliding around on some of the videos, even though the movement is not. Over running the player, or having bad anticipation, has taken a few games to get used to. Causing the offensive player to pick his ball up or cutting off his path is pretty rewarding. Early on, sending to the help has been the only way to contain elite ball handlers. But with good defenders I can force pick ups with lesser ball handlers and it feels really good.

I dunno I may have to buy it and test the colors in real time on my TV lol. Worst case if it’s not fixed I can refund it since I do digital.

First and foremost, thank you for taking time to answer our questions while you could be playing — We appreciate it!

I’m purely a gameplay type of guy, so thus far, what is your overall impression on how the game plays on HOF against the CPU compared to 2K21 Next Gen?

How do you like the new dribbling? And like another guy mentioned before, do you feel confident in the right scenarios to play defense one on one without feeling cheated by the CPU/animation?

Last but not least, Is the CPU smarter/more challenging on HOF this year?!

Thanks for the shots, homie. It’s def an improvement over last year. Hopefully next year they really try and work on colors. But messing with TV settings should make it good enough this year.

Much appreciated man. This is a potential dealbreaker or maker for me lol. I get obsessive about the color accuracy.

It remains to be seen if simply lowering the brightness on 21 has the same effect. Hopefully not.

Not sure if it’s too much of a hassle but if you happen to get a chance, would love to see a 21 pic of Bulls red next to the 22. Even a lowered brightness 21 pic vs a standard brightness 22. Would get to the bottom as to just what they may have done (or not done) to improve the colors.

Crazy thing is, look at 2K16 or any other previous 2K. Bulls red was always spot on. I wonder what it is about next gen that’s forcing the washed effect.
