Re: NBA 2K22 Impressions Thread
Reducing the body up sensitivity slider and lateral quickness got rid of the otherworldly CPU perimeter defense by non defenders immediately. I wish that something could be done to stop every CPU defender from pick up the ball handler as soon as they pass half court. I can't understand why they would make the design decision to have them do that.Jordan Mychal Lemos

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Impressions Thread
Love 2k22 so far, but one thing I was a big fan of in 2k21 was the on the fly substitution menu....it was much easier to sub players on the fly with face buttons, rather than taking your finger off of the left stick, and subbing each individual player out on the d-pad, then having to select them....often times the sub selections not being responsive when you select a player?!?!
Could face button subs be brought back, is this even an updatable fix? Wondering if anyone else is having a hard time with otf subs in gameComment

Re: NBA 2K22 Impressions Thread
So far i'm glad i did buy the game. Tested different options in the game and i enjoy most of them..
My Career wandering The City is a bit odd for me since i didn't play that mode previously but ok, will do for some hours, when i need a change for a bit. Primarly i'm franchize player and as i played few exhibition games i sure like what i saw on the court. Some different mechanics from last year, but on PS5 it feels great.
I even tried myTeam and maybe i'll spend some hours in there as well, but nothing serious.Last edited by Gogi76; 09-12-2021, 03:13 AM.Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Impressions Thread
Really hope they add an option to get rid of the dunk meter bc I truly don’t understand the point of it other than to be irritating as hell.
Love all the actions players make and how much smoother they seem to make them. Rarely feeling cheesed or cheated by the AI on Superstar. Had to up the fouls across the board especially with shooting but getting some nice jumpshot fouls bc of it.
As someone who likes to scan my face in MyPlayer and all that, it’s pretty nuts they missed the release date for the app on iOS. Like they just forgot to submit or maybe even the Epic/Apple lawsuit is causing a delay in certifying it or whatever? Idk but pretty crazy. That and the camera bug in MyLeague preventing Broadcast cams among others from being used. But hopefully those things will be fixed sooner than later.
I love the camera cutaway on some green releases. Sweet touch but they gotta patch it to prevent the drastic frame rate drop when it happens.
Like what they’ve done with halftime and having the studio talk about trades. I’d like for it to be a little longer and even have some highlights or summaries of games from around the league but I understand how often these things are skipped so it’s hardly worth making it longer I’d imagine. But for presentation and immersion in MyLeague it would do wonders.
Overall, loving this game so far and the fluid plays and smarter defense is making it so much more rewarding this year. Solid work.Comment

Re: NBA 2K22 Impressions Thread
Not sure who you've been watching/listening to but 2K22 is so vastly different from 2K21 gameplay-wise that comparing the two is honestly laughable. 2K22, purely from an offline gameplay focus, is by far and away the greatest year-over-year improvement the 2K series has ever seen.
Take it from a guy who has been less-than-polite about the game for the past 3+ years.

Re: NBA 2K22 Impressions Thread
I’ve only been able to play 5 games of NBA 2k22 so far on a busy weekend but I have two complaints so far. Shot meter is really hard and I’ve struggled badly with it (this may be a me only problem). And on ball screens have been neutered too much. Feels like on ball defender slips every one. I don’t think you will ever see a snake dribble or get a guy on your back after an on ball screen since they are incredibly ineffective. Granted, it’s way better this year since last year was too effective but does anyone know a slider adjustment for this to help? I thought increasing the strength slider might help.Comment

NBA 2K22 Impressions Thread
Now that the honeymoon phase of the game is over for me, and I’ve got a ton of games against the computer in, I’m not as impressed as I initially was.
Yes, the defense is “better” but it’s only an improvement on last year because they made it incredibly cheap and unrealistic.
The way the AI smothers every offensive player , even a guy like Ben Simmons who has no business being guarded at the 3 point line, to the way they can fight off every screen and PNR attempt with the speed of some of the best defenders of all time, regardless of mismatch.
There’s hardly any fast break game because of the speed in which defenders get back. They literally fly up the court while the offense seems stuck in mud. The warping, sliding, gliding and lack of foot planting and proper physics is just plain UGLY to look at and once again, gives the defensive AI an unfair advantage.
Blocks are completely OP, I got THIRTEEN blocks the last game I played, 13. A lot of which is due to the fact that the AI on offense does almost nothing but try and slip, slide and force field bully their way into the paint while throwing up a ridiculous shot. Again, this has to do with the fact that the defensive rotations are completely OP and unrealistic.
I know this is Czars first year handling the defense, but this is nothing more than an OP bandaid forced on the game because the defense was in such shambles last year.
Here’s to hoping 2K23 provides some realism in the defense department. Right now, it’s ugly and defies almost every law of physics imaginable.
This is why most people play online, playing the AI offline is absolutely trash.
I know y’all are about to roast me in the replies, and it’s whatever. I’m seeing this game for what it is.
