For who may be wondering, there is nothing in the box to suggest anything was changed. When my Series X booted up for the first time it still connected to my old Xbox One controller like it regularly would.

Update: I'm either 4 or 5 games into drop-in Rec games and haven't crashed yet. I did my weekly workouts and played a career game before playing these rec games. Playing solo rec-games before I sent my console in, I never made it beyond 3 games without a crash. So, at the very least, there seems to be *some* improvement thus far. I will update more as the weekend goes along. I'm intent on playing until I go to bed just to see how far I can stretch it.

LOL. My son's Series X also runs perfectly fine but he also plays 2K and he's way too grown to fool him.

Who knows where this leaves me at now. I contacted xbox about sending in my XSX and they told me it is a 2k issue. What a freaking mess.
Xbox Support also swears me for the life of them that they are working on a fix. What a mess indeed.

Update 2. Played something like 4-5 games with friends in rec and no crashes.

I been on for like 6 hours or more with no crashes whatsoever. There wasn't a day in my 2k22 life before sending my console in where my **** didn't crash. I admit, I was skeptical about getting the same console back and things being fixed, but here I am. I dunno if it was the patches they put out in recent weeks or what, but I can say with confidence that things seem fixed on my end.

I have an update as well…

I downloaded it on my sons Series S…

When the game synced it corrupted all of my files and now all of MyCareer files and MyNBA files are gone.

I can’t believe how bad this game is.

Did you try to load into your player anyway? I know when I uninstalled/reinstalled it looked like everything was busted, but once you loaded in once, it fixed.

Aargh...waited too long. They're sending me back (presuming since it's coming from Texas) the same console. Well, hopefully they were able to fix everything.

Yep, came just to post this. Also I suspected that if they were sending back the same consoles after fixing them, maybe it could mean that they figured out the source of the problem. Let's hope this is it.

Well after a reset and an update my console works perfectly fine. Some files got corrupted but that's it.

I ran 5 PNO back to back without an issue.

Man, they seem to be very confident about this fix. Too bad I have no access to any ring other than Omega so I'll have to wait a bit to try it.

anyone know how long it takes for the alpha build to reach omega? I just joined the insider program last week and that's all I have access to. can't believe it's almost been 2 months and I can't play the game

Same situation. I just received my first Omega update yesterday but I think it was just general availability. In one month, if you level up you can have access to the Delta ring.

i believe this will get pushed to all rings asap and, further, to non-insiders, if it is successful at each step. usually, it could takes months for an OS update to reach omega ring ppl.

but this is a critical issue, so i think you'll see it flight through rings faster. like days/weeks, as opposed to months.

After making sure i was in the Omega version of the Xbox Insider app and switching to a wired connection I’m not crashing anymore. My Xbox is lagging during normal times when it would crash but it’s just not crashing. It’ll stop lagging after like 2 seconds.

So idk which thing did it but ONE of switching to wired and/or being in the Omega version of the insider app is the fix.
