If they updated Jordan and made him even more authentic for this version, my man AIRJ might have a heart attack from excitement lol.

Honestly, I'm so happy they're finally giving this much love and attention to Jordan. He deserves this treatment

In addition to what Czar said last page, a Forbes article mentioned the same thing a couple weeks ago.

Though at the time, I thought there might be some wiggle room for the existence of some exceptions. Like, no, it obviously wouldn't make sense for the 2K team to somehow try to age all players across the board, but it would be kind of fancy if there was something programmed that allowed for the different player models that already exist to kick in at certain times.

For instance, I believe there's three Kobe Bryant models (Frobe, early 2000's Kobe, and bald Kobe). Since those models already exist, it would have been a nice touch if there was a progression schedule there (same with guys like LeBron and MJ, both of whom also have multiple models).

But in lieu of something like that, as long as PlayerDNA still works, it seems that'll be an easily viable workaround. Not only that, but I imagine some people making their own young alternatives of certain players that'll be available for download (say, a young Jason Kidd with hair for the 1994 draft class, a bleached hair Kidd, a prime Kidd, and the older Kidd that game's already had).

As a LeBron fan, this is my ideal in terms of player models and should be the standard of quality that 2k should give us for MyNBA Eras in future installments. This is what should be possible if they gave us multiple player models to represent players evolution in appearance. They could even have the variations packaged in edit a player similar to the way they have for hairstyles and headbands in previous versions, in order to not take up as many player model slots, they could assign variations to different player models so the 2007 Cavaliers LeBron James could have his 2004 to 2010 versions where as the 2013 Heat LeBron James could have his 2012-2014 versions, the 2016 Cavaliers could have 2016-2018 variations.

Also this guy's work is phenomenal and 2k should bring him on board to do exactly this just as they hired R4zor from the community.

@Da_Czar Do you know if we can turn the filter off ?? Some of us like to enjoy a more on court experience instead of a broadcast experience so it would be great if we can turn the old tv style grain filter off or it would kill the immersion of the on court experience.

May be a dumb question but is there a go-to spot to pre-order 2K23 that'll deliver on release day? Places like Amazon and Target both have ship dates around Sept. 13.

You guys already had me the second you said 'Jordan challenge', then went above and beyond with the eras mode.

Don't worry, despite my gripes, I'm sold - I'll be in store on day one, picking up my copy. Here's hoping I can get used to the controls with my old man reflexes.

I hadn't considered that, mostly on account of being old and having a thing for physical ownership of products.

Do you live near a Walmart, target or store like that? They should have plenty physical copies in store on release day

Dave, do you ever mess around with the tutorial mode in 2KU? It's helps me a lot with getting some of the controls down. I do it at least once every year to learn the new controls and refresh my memory. If you spend some time there and focus on the moves you want to know then you get to a point where it's just muscle memory and you aren't thinking about everything you want to do, for the most part.

I don't think I'll ever be a dribble god or Hakeem in the post, but I can hold my own and I usually get pretty good with the different layup options.

For sure, man. I don't normally step on the court for a game until I have the controls down. At least a little, anyways.

2K21 and 22 just didn't feel right for me, even after 2KU, but I'm thinking that could be just ultra conditioning to past games - I've been playing 2K20 since 2019.

This game looks like it has so much to offer in terms of retro stuff - that's absolutely in my wheel house, I need accept the things that are now gone, and dig in, from the bottom up.
