Re: NBA 2K23 Early Impressions
The main problem I had with 2K22 was this. You could dunk on almost every possession with players like Harden, Lebron, Jordan, Simmons, Lamelo, Morant...
A lot of people complained about PNR defense (me included), but I started to notice that you didn't even need it to exploit the bad cpu defense. Just pick a fast guy and drive to the basket.
I didn't play 2K23 yet so I can't share impressions, but from what I've seen in these early access gameplay videos and then reading your impressions... it's not looking good.
I’m starting to feel some challenges getting to the rim with my new settings. Really hoping this sticks.Comment

Re: NBA 2K23 Early Impressions
Haven’t played a game yet just putting around but noticed every team in modern era has help defense set to 0. “Sets how often players will help others on defense” HmmBasketball Playbooks

Quick clip of Warriors split action into Steph "Night Night" animation.

Re: NBA 2K23 Early Impressions
Man I don’t know what to tell you. I put 96 Jordan onto the modern Bulls and had 28 points by the second quarter. Quarter length was 5 minutes (not 3 minutes as I thought). Every play I just turbo spammed to the hole.
Check my last post, I jacked cpu defense sliders all the way up, backed bidy up sensitivity up, and most importantly slowed down with ball speed and accel and rose without ball speed and accel. NOW I’m starting to feel a challenge getting to the hole. Either dunked or got fouled. HoF setting.
Outside of this, the game is incredible and I haven’t even delved into it. Far more polished than 2K22.
Really hoping these new setting I got really keep the defense where I want it.
Yeah, initial blow boy’s are definitely easier than ‘22, That I agree with.
After reading your post I went in and recorded 3 mins worth of practice just trying to duplicate and couldn’t reproduce it without the AI adjusting either on the perimeter or helping more aggressively.
Even the content creators were having some issues with HOF. I don’t know…Just want to give those on the fence an accurate depiction without leaning too far in either extreme.
Guess we’ll see what everyone else experiences.Comment

I started playing 1983 and the contrast in graphics is ridiculous between modern era and the 80's is startling!
This year's game is really a history lesson on the evolution of basketball! The Look, The Players, The Skillset is simply incredible.
-Graphics and Movement are very good, more controlled, definite slower pace.
- Plays seem easier to function and complete.
- I like the limits to the dribbling, to me, it makes the pace less frenetic.

These are the specific impressions I'm waiting on til I can get my hands on the game. Have you peeped the rosters to see how accurate/how many generics are on each team yet for the 80's?"Dunks are tough, but when a 35 footer come rainin out the sky...it'll wire you up"Comment

When Czar said the gap between Current and new gen is far from here on out i didnt thought it will be like this.
they didnt even tried to update things.
Seems to be identical to 2K22 with all the worst things. I saw very bad defense on P&R, bad defensive stop on fastbreak and others legacy problem. Is it the time to say stop to the old gen version?
The gap with the next gen becomes to be relevantComment

NBA 2K23 Early Impressions
They added this really dope photo lighting to replay mode. You press the Left stick in to switch to the mode then left or right on the d-pad to cycle through the gallery. You also can control the scene and create your own photo like normal.

Re: NBA 2K23 Early Impressions
Was going to ask about the shooting setting. Is it just 2 options (early and late) and what exactly do they do? More specifically, how does it effect someone that already has a quick releases vs a player they has a later release?Comment

Re: NBA 2K23 Early Impressions
Can the CPU play any offense? This is what ruined the last couple 2ks for me. Every game i play no matter the difficulty they always shoot low 30% and barely ever score over 85/90pts on 12 min qtr.Comment
