OJ whichever settings you have on the main screen for minutes: ie 6 minutes quarters, you can change to 10-12 minute quarters and it'll translate to the Jordan Challenges.

That way you don't have to yack up 50 shots in 20 minutes lmao I respect that you did it that way though lol!

Yes you can. Press X on xbox or square on ps in play now but you can't use custom rosters. And you can change the time in the Jordan Challenge to make it more of a game and strategy than just constantly grinding. I played on 6 min to unlock them all. Now I've bumped it to 8 to replay and enjoy them. If I'm struggling I'll up it more.

So you're saying that it's possible to use the default 1983 roster, for example, in Play Now if I wanted to? Just not a custom version of it? If so, that's awesome. i didn't know that.

I meant playable outside the mode itself. Like I can’t randomly select the Jordan Wizards in play now.

Yes you can. Press X on xbox or square on ps in play now but you can't use custom rosters.

This. If you are on the main Play Now menu screen, you hit the button as noted and it brings up a debug menu where you can switch the teams to any of the era rosters, but the default ones and not custom ones.

I do, but like jimbo and b1g mentioned with rosters, I really wish we could upload a roster with our edits in this mode. The game is already great, but this to me would make it GOAT'ed.

So, just to make sure I understand, when you choose one of these options, is it just the teams from the 1983 season, 1991 season, or 2002 season that are available? Or say, if you choose the 1983 era, you can choose any team within the era itself (1983-1990)?

Latest patch ruined the game already.Congrats for all crybabies and 2K showing the absolute backbone.

CPU Offense and Defense took a heavy nerf.CPU cannot make any midrange or 3pt shots anymore.Help defense and awareness nerfed to the point where you can dance around defenders and drive to the paint whenever you want.CPU Pass speed and ball security has been nerfed as well.Game speed has been upped to the point now it's close to 2k18 levels.

Game has been turned from sim to arcade.It was a great 1 week enjoyment though.What's funny is 2k's twitter says nothing has been changed just like 2K22.

No, it just uses the default rosters for those eras....the same default ones that you have in MyERA mode.

I legitimately have no idea why they didn't implement the era rosters into Play Now. Add them to the L1/R1 options on the team select screen. Allow us to load a custom edited roster from any era. Just a strange oversight IMO.

I mean currently I can get about 20 dunks a game with guys like MJ in the Jordan modes, or T-Mac in the era modes.. defenses is pretty *** IMO.

I agree. I can maximize sliders to where I can make it challenging enough, yet it’s still arcadey with the easy dunks and drives. But lowering speed and accel with ball sliders helps a lot. But if they nerf defense AT ALL via patches then it’s in dangerous territory of easiness. Like 2K21 bad.

I don’t remember when they brought greens to the game, but there was a time when a green release still gave the possibility of missing the shot. And that is what I’d like to see return, at least an option within shot-timing that removes the “green = make” mechanic. They should keep it for online users, but let us offline guys have the option to remove guaranteed makes. Or hell, just give us a slider to fine-tune the boost from greening a shot, with the default value being 100 so the online users always make greens on default (I think this was the original idea behind the Shot Timing Impact slider but that got immediately ruined with the green = make mechanic, so now the slider is basically worthless).

Ah gotcha. That makes perfect sense.

I've compared 2K to The Show in this regard in the past. But man it just seems like Sony is much better at giving you optionality for stuff like this.

Not experiencing that at all. Though my only gameplay today was in the MyNBA Era mode during the 2000s, so I haven't tried Play Now or a modern era MyNBA. But in the 2000s era game, I was getting destroyed by the Spurs, first quarter ended 30-13 (their defense was good, BUT I would've scored 18-20 if my guys weren't ice cold). Using my current slider set as well, so maybe the issue stems from default settings?

Gameplay is great so far but 2K has the tendency to change it so its too early to call that. Plus I can just not put this game on that high of a pedestal knowing how expensive and grindy it is with MyCareer. It's the worst it has been in its history. It's a huge part of the game and people should not ignore that.
