Is there some kinda mandate from the 2k basketball gods that I ALWAYS have to have the mentally disabled Crackheads on my team EVERY SINGLE TIME when I play random rec? We shouldn't have to take 20 min to squad up just to play the game with no crackheads!!!

Stg 2K Sports are a bunch of professional trolls. How hard is it to add NO SQUAD IN REC! ffs

There isent really any matchmaking other then just lumping whoever ques in together and call jt day.

Its as basic as it gets.

No squad, overal, position or team grade or whatever.
Nothing to generate a better experience….

I think it's something. They def do overall. They do put 2s and 3s together a lot. They def aren't very nice about who they feed to squads.


I am 0-4 or 0-5 in Rec and all of them have been AWFUL. I had one game we almost won, but we sold it down the stretch. Still, I was just happy to have people to listen. Imagine dudes getting on the mic like I DON'T LIKE HOW UR DOING THIS, then someone else is like "YEAH? WELL I DON'T LIKE HOW YOU DO THIS." And both sides are like ah let's try something different haha.



If only for that, Rec would be... so much better.



But when it's obvious people have 5, I feel like I'm out there playing alone near the end, even if we are down 30 or whatever... I'ma keep playing and fist pumping. haha. 1 player w 4 bots, O WELL.

Been having no luck at all with randoms either recently.

Been on a weird sleep schedule too. I'm up all night and sleep during the hours when normal people are up so that's probably why also.

I was at least silver by now last season but a month of 2k new gen and I miss playing on my Switch I really do.

The graphical upgrades are nice. Playing at 4k and a decent frame rate is fun. But this is the least "NEXT GEN" game I own.

Even most PS4 games feel better on the PS5 than 2k. The City is always laggy. I don't understand how input delay is such a real thing still. Every mode has its own timing. Rec has a jump shot timing different than career and Park.

Spent more time in Skyrim last night than I have all week playing 2k.

They put a ton of theory into it with things such as badge tiers, needing 10+ badge pts to get tier 3, core badges.

PS4 feels better cuz it’s faster. Passing rating doesn’t matter, you can get badges differently.

The only thing I can say is I got it when I could get a ps5, finally, so I missed launch. However, it was def weird at first, but it’s still competitive. Pure stick I think ps4 is tougher cuz response and speed. They changed it to make the game different. I loved it when people weren’t coming over my back to block. Stick dunks aren’t live enough (cuz ani…), etc.

All n all I don’t regret it at all. I feel like my build, tho I missed a couple hof break points just barely, is extremely effective at everything except stopping dunks with help. I like it. It’s the people who are ruining it.

Finally got two OS games in, but both were TOXIC. The first one we had a pretty good 5 but the PG was so toxic that we lost, haha. We were close-ish.



Second one we got blown out because some guy decided to start wiling out then he stopped playing and kept shooting from 3/4th crt when he got the ball. I was just like keep giving him the ball and let him grade out. Either way, was UGLY.


Still, after all the rage I had from the salty PG in the first game, I had to go for this... even watching it over again, I am surprised 2k didn't let me get that. There's no way that SF blocked me like that.

Man, I am kind of surprised at how toxic PS5 rec is. I really thought ps5 would be different than ps4.



Got in some argument w/ a dude who was telling me to space the floor cuz I can shoot. It's like I'll be out there, hit me, but I'm gonna move, too, I can't stand still all game in the corner. He was a slasher. I SLASHER TOO. It's like people don't understand how to pass when it isn't 5 out.


Anyway, soured the next game, too, where we played some prol squad and they were clowning and made people quit, my boy was falling asleep, and I was just like... arite dude, you made some threes on me cuz I was helping, now it's time to go back at you. Still doesn't get rid of the rage that toxic interaction tho.

yea luv to u and other dude but I took ya off. I dono why people don't usually wanna ball with me. It's NOT LIKE I DON'T TRY. But it is stressful. You need a certain mindset. You should have rolled a 7'3 or like whatever height can still get 96 driving dunk, for the way you play. You'd be able to hit an open J, too and you'd be on d with height.


The problem with rec players is they are too quick to give up and they only want to revert to the style that works best for them. If they can't do that, they probably start selling. That's all assuming best case, if you got a nut case on your team he could sell for who knows what reason. Someone could make a corner fade 3, w/e... could get poster'd.



It's totally OK. It's not, but it is... just kinda lurk through the really bad games. My one vice is when I am on a scorer (like not my C,) I'm gonna cook that stuff if I get it in a bad game. I have been eating time outs a lot. Getting decent Ws considering how bad the teams are, but yea my own team timing me out... hehhhhh. When I'm locking down my guy and we are winning!! Also nobody understands it when I say "We got 1:50 seconds left, we're in the penalty now, draw another foul." It's like dudes PRESS L2 sometimes. Or jab into a reach, or do a hesi into a reach.



My control broke, and I was mad. I got a new one + warranty and I'm OK NOW. Just have fun. It's a game. If you really don't care about your stats or rank or whatever then just quit out of bad games. The one thing is that I think there are 'divisions' and there is def a bum division, and YOU DON'T WANNA BE IN THERE. That's what I tell my boy, we gotta work hard cuz if we end up in the bum division (was last season omg) I'm done.



Edit: yeah, just checked. Winning 43%, not bad considering some games are dead from the start. Bot games basically where people just shooting over bots, but YO, I am shooting 40%!! My win rate is higher than my shooting percentage haha. I am in the most insane 3 point slump, but the d is real nicely balanced now and both my scorers can defend. You might wanna try the game again. People can still hit crazy shots, tho, but if you got like gold challenger (it's nice to have) or some challenger, you should be good. I can get out on shots with my 6'10 guy. Someone might drive by me but they are prol not getting a 3. People are camping the passing lanes hard and all they do is leak out to corners on breaks. I just stand around FT line on outlet and steal the passes with my C. But it IS hard to play with some of these kids. Good games are there, tho, had a few lately.

Forgot to say one of the things I noticed is if you avoid “casual” ranks your odds are better. Not that they have better personalities, but they know the game. Was tryin to get dude to baller, he got baller, I got whatever silver is, then one bad sold gm and we both went down a step. It’s a good idea but the metric needs to be further adjusted. Def leaving if a group of casuals comes in will increase your winning percentage and prol life span.

They really nerfed bigs’ teammate grade too much, I can be like 20 20 and have a b+ if the game is trash enough. Someone has to get the reb, etc so it still skews toward bigs, but yeah, i wouldn’t close app off one casual but when a whole group comes in together it’s like hmmm.

Here is an egregious example of bad match making. Him v U haha. Our whole team was passing. That was my second game with them, too, so they actually had a chance to match us up with a similar squad. I mean I'm sorry, but I know I am at least kinda good and you don't put two people who are at least kind of good on the same team, big and pg, vs BUMS. I wanted to play a squad with that team. I feel like if you win your first game by an insane amount of points and everyone stays, they should rethink your matchmaking heh.
