It's just too inconsistent.
I played a game against the Lakers with my custom superleague roster and Shaq got doubled by my team in his first post touch and fairly regular after. (Defense set to auto and my Sonics Help D coaching slider is in the 90s)
Then I watched a game of Lakers v Blazers and witnessed Shaq back down Dame and no double came.????.
Granted the Blazers help D coach sliders is 75 but still......it was Shaq posting up Dame in a mismatch.....
That should be automatic double by any logic.

hopefully the update patch has addressed the issue but most likely not as it wasn't mentioned in the notes, how can we get 2k to do this, is a game breaker, now i have to force myself to ignore mismatch and not attack, this is NOT ACCEPTABLE 2K!!! Don't ruin this potential to be perfect game!

No, not fixed in my experience. Scored on 6 straight post possessions with Tim Duncan and didn’t see a single double team. Super disappointing since you have to choose between exploiting the AI glitch or ignoring a key part of your offence. It sucks.

not sure why this is not HUGE concern to many ppl, like is it that people don't know how to attack through mismatch no offense at all in my comment but this is how you play ball and it should be translated into the game, i mean this is like the most basic thing, creating mismatches and then double team comes, pass the ball around for open shot, how can we get 2k to work on this...seriously...

Just curious what myERA mode are you guys playing in? Cause in my Jordan Era myNBA, I’m literally getting double teamed on my first possession right after jumpball. This could also be because I’m using MJ but I’ve never had issues with the CPU NOT using double teams

I’m using the Kobe era, was first game of the season against the Lakers and was just cooking Robert Horry in the post over and over and they never adjusted anything.

Yep, there were times in my first season where the AI decided from the jump that Jordan was getting doubled every time he got the ball in the post. Now the decision to do that seemed intelligent, they normally did so when the defender was obviously outmatched. But how they did it was most certainly not intelligent. It was usually a defender guarding a perimeter player on the other side of the court that just came sprinting over for the double, with no subsequent rotation until Jordan passed. Can't tell you how many times Jordan received the entry pass in the left low post, then Larry Hughes' defender from the right wing came sprinting over to double, while the other 3 defenders did nothing. I would pass it to Larry, while ball is in-flight the defense would rotate, but it would arrive too late to contest an open 3.

Czar said that the Jordan era is hard coded to double him like that, so it’s not reflective of gameplay otherwise.

I literally get SMOTHERED every time MJ catches the ball down low, to the point where I NEVER see single coverage of him in the post.

It's pretty frustrating at times, actually. Don't get any time to set up for Jordan's classic bag of tricks in the post, just swamped by an instant double.

Double teaming MJ is hard coded into the game for that era. It's not reflective of play in general.
